“So, uh, I locked the keys in the car.”
Aizawa slowly raised his head and looked Mic in the eye, his expression suddenly infinitely more tired and deadpan than usual. “You’re kidding me.”
“Please say sike- Oh, bro!” Yagi and Shirakumo grinned and high-fived over their shared reaction, having spoken at nearly the same exact time.
“Pfff, chill out! It’ll be fine!” Mic gave his friends a wide smile and his hands waved above his head. “We just have to get them out!”
“And how are we going to do that, genius?” Mic’s eyebrow twitched at Aizawa’s quip, betraying his lack of confidence, but his grin refused to falter.
“Well, obviously, we uh... we... It’s super simple! Right, Enji?”
Enji startled a bit when Mic suddenly pointed to him, but he quickly covered it with a scowl. “Don’t turn to me every time you don’t know what to do, Mic. How would I know how to get into a locked vehicle?”
“I... guess so...” Mic’s smile turned nervous and his hands lowered. “Uhh... so we’ll have to get someone else’s help, huh?”
“Dude, what are you talking about? You can just ask me for help,” Yagi offered helpfully, but Mic just frowned seriously at the other’s cocky smirk.
“Yagi, like hell would I ever ask you for anything.”
Enji sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. Why couldn’t Mic at least try to get along with his boyfriend? “Yagi, could you help us out? Please?”
“Yeahhh fine. I would rather Mic have asked me, but...” Yagi trailed off and shrugged carelessly. “Anyone got something to wedge open the door with and a wire hanger?”
“I have a screwdriver!” Shirakumo reached into his bag and pulled it out, waving it triumphantly. “I was tasked with some maintenance today as punishment for being tardy again, and I kiiiind of forgot to give it back! Haha!”
“And I have a hanger,” Aizawa said, giving Yagi a distrusting look while pulling the object from his bag. “You sure you can do this without damaging Mic’s car?”
“Probably!” Yagi snatched the items away before they could be retracted, turning to Mic’s car.
As he carefully wedged the door open with the screwdriver, he could feel the group gathering behind him, trying to peek at what he was doing. He grinned smugly to himself, contorting the wire hanger and slipping it in between the door and its frame.
With a bit of finagling and a couple readjustments to the hanger’s shape, Yagi managed to catch the door handle from the inside and pull, and the door popped open quietly. “Aaaand success! ... Huh, no alarm on your car, Mic? Wack.”
“Holy shit you actually did it!” Mic grabbed his keys from the ignition and held them up triumphantly with a wide grin.
“Dude, Yagi, that was amazing!” Shirakumo put an arm around Yagi’s shoulder, laughing quietly at the way the blond dipped his head and coughed as if that would hide the light blush dusting his cheeks.
“Uh, whatever. I mean, it’s not that big a deal.” Yagi shrugged awkwardly, ducking away from Shirakumo’s arm.
Enji shook his head and hooked Yagi’s pinky finger with his own, quickly kissing his cheek. “Well, big deal or not, thank you.”
“Even I have to admit that was kind of... almost... well, not cool, but...” Aizawa trailed off with a grumble, unwilling to compliment Yagi outright. “Well, now we can finally get going. Mic, you’re paying for all our food, since you made the mistake in the first place.”
“What!? So mean...” Mic sighed dramatically, but couldn’t hold back his signature grin for long. “Yeah yeah, I got you all. I guess I can even do something nice for Yagi this one time, since he helped me out for once.”
“Don’t worry, after dinner I’ll make sure you and I are back to ‘enemy’ status,” Yagi snorted with a roll of his eyes.
