Till Sins Do Us Apart

Summary:

Sacrificing oneself is unnecessary when it comes to love.

Notes:

Fluff mixed with a little angst is nice to write once in a while.

Work Text:

“Nana, how long has this been going on?” The concerned class-rep lifted the chin of her roommate with both hands, seemingly trying hard for the both of them to have more than 5 seconds of eye contact.

“How long have you been in this game, this game of solitude? Controlled by our only orange audience sitting below the stage?”

...

The girl remained silent, unable and unwilling to answer the other’s question.

It was true, no matter how many times her first day was reborn, how many 99s she had gone through her entire repeats of the first year, she could have never wanted people around her to be hurt by the script. Not even her most precious loved one, Junna. And so, she will continue to carry on her sole journey to be alone on her very own Starlight stage.

“Nana, answer me..”

The one-sided conversation slowly turned into a standstill.

As silence stood triumph on the empty stage, the director was pulled into a tight hug. It was a novel feeling for her, none yet precedented had prepared her for the sudden change in her own script that she had been given since the start of this journey.

Taken aback, she tried to pull herself away to keep the original text going, because to her, the ending must be the same.

Even if everything happened comes to a single question.

“Do you understand?”

Sadly, a play cannot be performed solo. And so, with the banana in her grasp, Junna used the force left in her to push the taller person down. The fall was soft, albeit to the layer of bedsheets they’re on.

With a soft melted gaze, Junna focuses all her attention to pry her roommates’ arms open, waiting for an opportunity to kiss her on the cheeks.

An action to show how she’s never alone in the first place.

“I’m sorry, Jun.. I really am..” The sobbing never seemed to have stopped, even when her face had been completely uncovered.

“It’s alright.. Cry it all out. I’ll still be your Claire like you’re my Flora. We’re inseparable, till sins do us apart.”
