Kirishima’s pov
“ok Kirishima, tell me exactly what happened one more time please.”
Aizawa and Kirishima had already been through the entire story at least 3 times at this point. Yet, since Kirishima had been there and didn’t even believe it, he understood why Aizawa might be having a hard time believing what he was telling him.
“ok. Well, it happened while me and Bakugou were walking back to the dorms from the grocery store. He needed to get stuff to make dinner and since it was a day that he’d help me study, make me dinner to. Since he was doing me two favors, I insisted on paying for the groceries and helping him carry them back.”
Kirishima took a deep breath, to prepare him for what he was about to say. Also, because he realized 90% of what he said was completely useless.
“while we were walking, we heard a scream and immediately ran to see what was going on. We found a man with a knife standing over a lady that looked like she was passed out in a dark alley. I figured that the lady needed help so that’s what I did. The guy wasn’t much of a fighter ‘cause it was easy to take him down. I left Bakugou to restrain him and call the police while I made sure the lady was alive. But when I turned back around the man was gone- and so was Bakugou.”
Kirishima let out a small stressed laugh realizing how crazy the next part sounded.
“the weirdest part though was that as quickly as Bakugou disappeared, he re-appeared! But now he was unconscious on the ground and at least 10 years older. I had no idea what to do so I just called an ambulance for the lady and Bakugou. Then I called you.”
Kirishima let himself relax a little bit. He felt confident that he wouldn’t have to re-tell Aizawa the whole story again. He took a moment to look around and take in his surroundings. He was at UA in Aizawa’s office. He had never been in here before. Under different circumstances seeing his office might have been cool. Unfortunately, these were not different circumstances.
Aizawa had picked up kirishima from the scene of the crime and drove him back to campus. He made sure to complain about how angry he was, that he had to bail kirishima out of trouble on a Saturday.
It's not like Kirishima had planned to get into trouble. He did what any good person would have done and tried to help that lady. Obviously, he didn’t regret saving her. But if he had it his way, he'd be making dinner with Bakugou right now and preparing to spend the night hanging out with his friends. Instead he was getting questioned by Aizawa while the Bakugou he knew was missing. That remined him-
“hey Mr. Aizawa, what exactly did they do with Bakugou- er uh, older Bakugou?”
“Well, at the moment he's being questioned at the police station. There's a good chance that that man you saw was not Bakugou, so they're trying their best to identify him.
Kirishima looked at him for second “but Mr.Aizawa I'm pretty sure that he was Bakugou. I know there are people with quirks that could make it possible for them to impersonate others, but then why would Bakugou look older?”
“There are many things that could have happened in that alley Kirishima. It is the police’s job and my own to figure out what is happening and to fix it.”
Kirishima must have still looked very worried because Aizawa did something very unexpected. He tried to comfort him.
“Don't worry Kirishima. This will all be sorted out and Bakugou will be fine. Now go back to the dorms and get some sleep.”
It was all said in usual tired tone but Kirishima decided to take it as comfort either way. Still, he couldn't help but be worried for what was happening with Bakugou.
….......
(older) Bakugou’s pov
“I already told you, my name is Bakugou Katsuki, I'm also known as ground zero. I'm a pro hero and I'm 25 years old. My birthday is April 20th and that ID is not fake.”
katsuki was trying to stay as calm as possible but these guys were really starting to get on his nerves. He’d like to think he'd taken care of his temper and almost completely gotten rid of it. Unfortunately thinking that didn't mean it was true and fuck were these guys annoying.
“Ok but if it’s real then why does it say it's from nine years in the future?” the officer who asked that looked smug. As if to say, ‘ha I poked holes into your little story, nine years my ass.’
“My guess is that I somehow ended up nine years in the past.”
He was so tired and did not want to deal with this today. He wanted to go home and go to bed not mess around with officer smug bitch, and some sort of time travel incident.
The cops continued to talk to each, whilst Bakugou tried his best to tune them out. Though he did catch pieces of their conversation.
“wait isn’t Bakugou Katsuki the UA kid who won the sports festival?” asked officer smug bitch.
“the crazy one?” officer #2 looked surprised and somewhat scared. He looked at Bakugou and eyed the quirk proof cuffs on his wrists.
Crazy was not a word Bakugou liked to be known as. That was the reason why after high school decided he get his act together and get control of his temper. Unfortunately, his temper wasn't completely gone. Considering how he used to be, his change was impressive. These past few years have been the calmest he's ever been in his life.
Then someone walked in that had the ability to make his day suck less and maybe even get him out of this mess.
“Yes! Aizawa, finally.”
Bakugou never really got along with his high school homeroom teacher, but he wasn’t stupid. He knew that the situation he was in was kinda fucked up and if anyone was going to help him get out of it, it would be Aizawa.
But instead of coming to help Bakugou like he expected, he didn’t even acknowledge him. Aizawa went straight over to talk to the two officers.
“so, what do we know about this guy so far?”
“well he says he's Bakugou Katsuki. He has this ID, but it’s probably fake. It says it's from nine years from now.” of course smug bitch replied, still looking smug at his fake ID theory.
Officer smug bitch handed Bakugou’s ID to Aizawa. He looked over carefully trying to deduce whether it was real or not.
“well I don’t know.” Aizawa decided tiredly “there is always the possibility that this is the result of a quirk accident, and this man is not lying. Is there any way we can test his DNA against the real Bakugou’s?”
“we could try,” the second officer responded. “But we run the risk that this is still an imposter with a quirk that completely changes the user's DNA.”
“sounds like the best chance we have. How long will it take?” Aizawa did not sound optimistic. More like he was determined to get this over with so he might have a chance of getting a little bit of sleep that night.
“overnight.” officer #2 said. “that's assuming that you have a sample of the real Bakugou Katsuki’s DNA on file at UA however.”
“yeah we do. Its standard to run a bunch of tests on all the students before they can be allowed to attend UA.” hearing Mr. Aizawa say that made Bakugou perk up a bit. The sooner they did the damn DNA test the sooner he could get out of this godforsaken police station.
“let me talk to him alone for a moment. Hear his side of the story.” The officers stood up and left the room leaving total silence until Aizawa spoke again.
“so Bakugou tell me what happened.” Aizawa looked extremely tired and Bakugou could relate so he decided to go easy on him for once, and not put up a fight.
“I was on pratol like most other days.” he started. “there was a bank robbery but me and Ei-Red riot stopped it no problem. Then there was this blinding flash of light and suddenly I'm waking up in the ambulance nine fucking years in the past.”
He accidently let that f-bomb slip because damn it, this whole situation just made him angry.
“ok and how is your life in the future?”
This question surprised Bakugou because why the fuck would he care?
“what's it to you?” he asked.
“look I don’t want to do this either, but the more questions I ask the easier it will be to poke holes in your story if its fake. So, let's get this over with so I can go home.”
Understandable.
“Good. I mean I have my dream job, I'm the number 2 hero and a run a hero agency with my fiancé.” he almost regretted saying that last part. He knew exactly what was coming next.
“fiancé?”
Katsuki fidgeted with the ring hanging on the necklace around his neck. Even after almost 5 years of being with Ei, he still disliked talking about their relationship. He wasn’t ashamed of him or anything, he just wished that people would mind their own Business. Being a pro hero meant he was in the spotlight a lot and it often got tiring. At the same time however, he wanted to gush about his badass fiancé to every person he met. He was insanely proud of Eijirou, and wanted the whole world to know that.
It was a like a tug-a-war in his mind every time trying to talk about his fiancé.
“uh, yeah. We've been together about 5 years and are supposed to get married in the fall.”
“do you mind if I ask who?”
Katsuki wanted to say ‘yes. Now mind your own business.’ but he knew that wouldn’t help anybody.
“kirishima Eijirou, also known as Red Riot.”
Aizawa didn’t look nearly as surprised as Bakugou expected. He knew he’d been obvious with his crush back in high school but not obvious enough for a teacher to notice. He didn't even realize he had a crush until his second year.
“Anything else about your life you can tell me?” Aizawa asked.
“huh? Uh not really.” That was a lie, but this was one thing he absolutely despised talking about. Bakugou considered his options and decided to just give in and tell his former teacher one of his greatest weaknesses. “My hearing went to shit a few years back. It’s a consequence of my quirk and me being too stubborn to wear ear protection.” if Katsuki had any regrets, it was definitely that. “I can still hear a bit, but my hearing is nothing like it used to be,” Katsuki pointed at his hearing aids the best he could while wearing the cuffs. “now I have to wear these fuckers all the damn time.”
“Well as far as I can tell you’re the real deal. Of course, even if you are really Bakugou, just older, that still leaves the problem of what happened to your younger self. Let's get you into a holding cell for tonight so we can try and figure this all out in the morning.”
Despite Bakugou’s general attitude, he’d never actually been arrested before. His bad boy façade was just that, a façade. He was really a goody two-shoes. Also, having a criminal record could affect your reputation as a hero. This would be his first time sleeping at a police station and he was not looking forward to it. Still, this all meant he was one step closer to fixing this whole mess and going home. He hoped Kirishima was doing ok.
