"Hyung, can you hear me?"
There's no answer except for the sound of waves crashing into the rocks where Jimin stood.
"I miss you, hyung."
It's a cold, windy day by the port. Jimin knew that coming here is not one of his best ideas, but he's feeling particularly lonely and whenever he's lonely, his go-to place is the port. If anyone asks, he'd say it's because the sound of the waves calms him down, but in reality, he knew that's not the case.
It's because the port is Yoongi's favorite place and somehow, it had become Jimin's too.
"You'll probably scold me for staying out here on the middle of December, but you can't blame me."
Jimin closed his eyes, taking a deep breath as the cold breeze touched his cheeks.
"I know I said I'll wait, but I didn't expect you to make me wait this long."
"Honestly, you're an ass."
He let out a small laugh at his words.
"I'll probably get scolded by now if you hear me say that."
A smile and another crash of waves.
"But that's okay. I'm fine with getting scolded as long as it's you."
Jimin sighed as he took his hand out of his sweater's pocket and ruffled his already messy hair from the wind. On the process of putting his hand down, his eyes caught the lone silver banded ring on his ring finger. He brought it closer to his face, smiling a little at the memories it brought back.
He hadn't taken off the ring since Yoongi gave it to him two years ago. The proposal isn't anything grand. There are no fireworks nor a trail of roses. Hell, there isn't even a bouquet, but Jimin wouldn't have it any other way.
Honestly, he wasn't expecting Yoongi to propose that day. They were just hanging out and he didn't notice anything weird on Yoongi's behavior. Their last stop was the same port where he's standing right now.
Jimin can remember staring out into the silhouette of the mountains on the distance and when he turned back, Yoongi was bending on one knee beside him, ring on hand and smiling goofily. He was so shocked and confused to do anything but stare at that time and he only came to when Yoongi said his legs are getting numb and that he should say yes already.
There are tears and laughs and he almost threw Yoongi off the port when he said he wasn't nervous at all because he knew Jimin is too whipped for him to say no anyway, but in the end, he did say yes. Of course he will. Because he might deny it in front of everyone, but he knew that his boyfriend-slash-fiancé is right.
He's a goner for one Min Yoongi.
Jimin's smile turned bitter at the memories, eyes still glued at their engagement ring.
"You shouldn't give people rings and then leave, you big idiot."
Jimin blinked in surprise as a tear fell on his hand. When did he start crying? He tried wiping his tears away with his sleeve, but they kept falling that he gave up and just let them fall.
He craddled his hand to his chest, falling into a crouch and full on sobbing. He must've looked so miserable crouching and crying alone on the port and if Yoongi would see him right now, he'd definitely laugh.
But then, Yoongi will gather him in his arms and soothe him. Whispering gentle words in his ears until he stopped crying.
"I wouldn't even be crying if you're here on the first place."
Fuck, he really miss his Yoongi.
"I just want you here, hyung."
He's freezing and the wind kept blowing around him, but he's too busy crying to give a care and to hear the footsteps coming towards him.
"You promised you'll come back, hyung. How much longer do I have to wait?"
A sound of a wave hitting the rocks, a caw of a bird somewhere above.
"Wow, sunshine. I didn't know you'll miss me this much."
Jimin blinked in surprise, lifting his head up from where it's nestled in his arms.
That voice...
Jimin turned his head slowly to the source of the sound, letting out a tiny gasp as his eyes met with the person he's been wanting to see for years now.
"Yoongi."
Yoongi smirked from where he stands, opening his arms upon seeing Jimin getting up from where he's crouching, eyes never leaving each other.
"That's hyung to you, brat."
Suddenly, they're on the floor, arms around each other in a tight embrace. One of Yoongi's hands on the younger's waist and the other on the back of Jimin's head, pressing his face on the crook of his neck as Jimin started bawling his eyes out.
Yoongi smiled, nosing at the other's hair as Jimin babbled as string of "you're here"s and "I miss you"s on his neck. Fuck, he missed his Jiminie so much.
"I missed you so much, sunshine. I'm sorry hyung took a while to return to you."
Jimin broke the hug, staring down at Yoongi with teary eyes and hitting him slightly on the chest.
"Yah! What took you so long!? I've waited forever for you, dumbass! I was so lonely!"
Yoongi laughed, sitting up with Jimin on his lap. He took in the younger's red face and his adorable pout, pulling him close enough for their foreheads to touch.
"Yeah, I'm sorry. I made you wait for so long. Forgive hyung?"
The younger sniffed, glaring at him through his lashes.
"No. I hate you."
"No, you don't. You love me."
"Eww."
Despite his answer, Jimin snaked his arms around Yoongi's neck, closing his eyes and pulling the elder closer.
"I can't believe you asked me to marry you and then leave for two years. You're an ass."
Yoongi laughed and Jimin basked on the sound. Fuck, he missed hearing that.
"Hey, I already apologized."
"Not enough. I'll need 100 kisses to compensate for those two years."
Jimin narrowed his eyes at the man in front of him upon seeing that familiar smirk on his lips.
"I think I can give you more than just kisses if we go back to your apartment, sunshine."
Yoongi wiggled his eyebrows making the younger snort.
"On second thought, I don't miss you after all. Go back to America." Jimin made a move to stand, but Yoongi pulled him down with a laugh.
"I mean, if you really want me to-"
Jimin glared at him before he can even finish his sentence.
"Do that and you might as well say goodbye to this engagement."
Of course Jimin wouldn't do that, but he felt delighted when he saw a flash of panic on Yoongi's eyes from his statement.
"Yah. Don't say things like that." Yoongi pouted at him, arms tightening around his waist. Jimin huffed, kissing his pout away.
"As if."
Yoongi broke out into one of his gummy smiles and Jimin returned them with one of his eye smiles.
"I'll always come back to you, you know that right?"
"I know."
Jimin's smile is bright as their lips met, happy to finally have his Yoongi on his arms again. He's still reeling from the fact that Yoongi is finally with him, but just like that day two years ago, he wouldn't have it any other way.
