Opposite Date

Summary:

“Jungkook! What the fuck was that?” He furiously whispers to Jungkook, wrapping both arms around him once again.

“What do you mean what was that? He insulted me! Let go of me.” Struggling to get out of Seokjin’s arms wrapped tightly around him, caging him in, he manages to get one last insult out towards the offender before he was dragged completely out of the room. “I know where to find you, you snot-nosed, Lord Farquaad looking ass, probably Shrek-loving, troll-sized TODDLER! I’ll be back! We will settle this with a boxing match.”

Where Seokjin and Jungkook take a trip down memory lane back to the night they went on their first date... or in their case their 'opposite date'.

Notes:

Saw a prompt on twitter where Jungkook gets into a heated argument with someone, starts to threaten them, and Jin has to remove Jungkook from the situation before it escalates further and I wanted to write it :) This was written mostly for me to get the prompt out of my head but I thought I'd share it on here too. Hope you all enjoy!

Also, this was not beta'd at all, so if there are any mistakes please ignore them! Sorry in advance.

Work Text:

It was the night of Jungkook and Seokjin’s engagement party.

Everyone was buzzing with happiness and excitement because it’s been so long since the 7 of them had time to meet up and catch up. Not to mention the reason they were all gathered together was to celebrate the fact that Jungkook had finally proposed to Seokjin after 3 years of being together.

Jimin told the happy (and busy with wedding planning) couple that he and Taehyung would gladly take over planning the engagement party for them so they would have one less thing to worry about. They easily agreed and the only request they had was for it to be a small, intimate party with only their closest friends, which is why Jimin and Taehyung had decided to hold it at their place. They were now rushing around the main floor of the house with the others to ensure that everything was perfect before their arrival.

“Hey Jimin? Where should we place all the gifts?”

“Taehyung, I accidentally popped one of the balloons. Are there any extras I can quickly blow up to replace it?

“Uh… Taehyungie and Jiminie, are you sure this is enough food and drinks for all of us? Do you want me to order some more and have it delivered?”

Taehyung responded to all the questions since Jimin was nowhere to be found, probably upstairs wrapping their gift up last minute since they had forgotten to do so the night before.

“Hoseok hyung, there should be an empty table in the corner of the living room, and you can just put all the presents there. Namjoon hyung, don’t worry about it, it’s fine. I don’t think Jin hyung or Jungkook would notice a missing balloon… wait no, Jimin might go crazy over it. The extra balloons are located at the top of the closet by the front door. And Yoongi hyung, I think we’re good on food. Jimin and I just haven’t placed it all out yet because we didn’t want it to go cold.” He feels a vibration in his left pant pocket, notifying him that he got a new text. Taking his phone out to check the message, he sees a text from Jungkook notifying him that their ETA is about 8 minutes. “Actually, Yoongi-hyung, if you don’t mind, can you start putting out the rest of the food? Just got a text from Jungkook that they’re almost here. The food is staying warm in the oven at a low temperature so once all the food is out, just make sure to turn the oven off. I’m going to go grab Jimin from upstairs.”

After showing Yoongi exactly where the food was staying warm and checking that Namjoon had replaced the popped balloon, he walked out of the living room and headed towards the stairs to go up to their bedroom. He found Jimin surrounded by a mess of wrapping paper, ribbons, and scissors, with a perfectly wrapped gift in front of him and smiled. I love him so much, he thinks before verbally announcing his presence.

“Hey min? Jungkook texted and said he was arriving really soon so we should head back downstairs. Don’t want to miss their arrival now, do we?”

Just as he finished what he was saying, the doorbell rang informing them of the couple’s arrival.

“Ahhh they’re here.” Shoving the gift into Taehyung’s hands, Jimin continues. “Okay. Make sure this gets put with the other presents and don’t drop it! I’m going to go open the door for them now before Jin hyung makes a joke about us not letting them into their own engagement party.” And with an eyeroll accompanied by a wide smile, Jimin rushes down the stairs to open the door.

Taehyung can hear Seokjin making a joke like Jimin had predicted from where he was standing upstairs and Jimin’s loud melodious laugh, probably throwing his head back as well, the way he usually reacts when it comes to one of Seokjin’s jokes. He shakes his head fondly with a grin. Classic Jin-hyung. Slowly making his way down the stairs in order to not break their gift, he walks into the living room where the rest of them were currently standing around hugging each other, and placed the gift on the designated gift table before joining the others with open arms. “Jin hyung! Jungkookie! I’ve missed you. Now where are my hugs?”

“Taehyung! My favourite brother. I missed you too” Seokjin said as he reached over to hug him, laughing when Namjoon let out an offended ‘Hey!’ behind them. Letting go of the hug so Jungkook could give Taehyung a hug too, he says “I’m kidding Namjoon. I love you both equally.”

In response, Namjoon playfully closes his eyes, crosses his arms across his chest, and tilts his face upwards and to the side, letting out a little ‘hmph’.

“Now…,” Jungkook speaks up when he’s hugged everyone, “I’m starving. All Jin hyung and I had today was cake during our cake tasting 5 hours ago, so I hope you have enough food for us. Especially Jin hyung over here – he was starting to get a little hangry on the drive over.”

“I was not! But yes, please, let’s eat.”

After a filling dinner where they all exchanged fun life updates, they moved back out into the living where Seokjin and Jungkook opened their presents. They got a polaroid printer and a scrapbook from Namjoon, funny matching personalized mugs from Yoongi, and an uncommon goods wedding keepsake library from Hoseok.

When Jungkook was handed the last present, which was Jimin and Taehyungs (save the best for last, they said), he nearly cried when he saw what it was. Looking over at Seokjin, he could see a few tears starting to form in his eyes as well.

The gift, well, it was something extremely meaningful to the couple because it was a personalized glass box filled with items reminiscent of their first date. Taking the items out slowly and carefully, both Seokjin and himself tearfully laughed at the small pair of kids boxing gloves, a Shrek DVD, a mini troll doll, a BOGO coupon for the ice cream shop they went to, a ₩50,000 giftcard to a thrift store, and a bunch of their favourite convenient store snacks. Written at the very bottom of the glass box was ‘To many more adventures together <3 | 06.13.2017’.

“Do you like it?” Jimin asked, him and Taehyung nearly falling off the love seat they were sitting on from intensely watching the couple take in their gift in its entirety.

Not getting a response from either Seokjin or Jungkook, Taehyung anxiously continued, “We know we must’ve missed a few key items since it happened 3 years ago and we weren’t actually there, only getting the details of what happened on the date from the two of you after –”

“No! No. It’s perfect. This is the best thing I’ve ever gotten - no offence to everyone else. I … I can’t believe you put so much though into this gift, picking items that perfectly represent our first date.” Jungkook speaks up, realizing that they’ve been silent for a little too long, making the other couple anxious.

Seokjin chimes in as well, voice shaky from the tears that were silently streaming down his face.

“Jiminie… Tae… there are no words that can express how much I love this gift and how much I love the two of you. Honestly… I… I’m speechless. Thank you for this. Jungkook and I will cherish it forever.”

“Of course, Jin hyung and Jungkookie! We’re so glad you like it. Jimin and I were worried you wouldn’t get the gift and think that it was just a box filled with a random array of items.”

“We love it Tae-hyung and Jimin hyung, really. Like hyung said, we’ll cherish this gift forever. I don’t think you understand how much this means to us.”

An awkward cough breaks the sweet moment and has the four looking in the direction of the cough. “Uh… sorry about breaking that touching moment but Yoongi hyung and I met Jin hyung and Jungkookie about a year and a half into their relationship. We don’t actually know exactly how you guys got together…” Hoseok trails off sheepishly at the end, flushed from all the sudden attention on him. Then, as a second thought, he adds, “Also, no offence taken by the ‘best gift ever’ comment’. It seems like the Jimin and Taehyung’s gift holds a lot of sentimental value.”

Yoongi and Namjoon both nod their heads in agreement. “Yeah hyung - and Jungkook. If you don’t mind, can you please tell us how you two got together? Looking at the items you pulled out of that box, it seems like it was an interesting first date.”

“Oh.” Seokjin starts out, with a blush slowly making its way onto his cheeks and neck. “Sorry. We kind of assumed everyone here knew about our first date because we’re all so close and it feels like everyone’s known each other since childhood. Plus, Tae and Joon are my brothers. I guess Jungkookie and I just forgot to mention it whenever we met, or it was never something we thought to bring up.”

“We can tell you now though hyungs! It definitely was … interesting and different.”

“Yah! That was all because of you Jungkook! Who suggests an opposite date anyway? I’ve never heard of such a thing before you mentioned it to me.”

“Opposite date…?” Yoongi asks, giving Hoseok a questioning look, as if to ask if he knew what that was.

When Namjoon sees Hoseok return the same confused and questioning look towards Yoongi, he says “Hyung, maybe you should start from the beginning where you first met Jungkook.”

Seokjin nods.  “Good idea. JK, do you want to start the story, or do you want me to start it?”

“You’re better at telling it so you start.”

“Okay, Let’s star-”

Before Seokjin can even start, Jimin squeals. “Ahhh! Sorry to be interrupting already but I love hearing this story.  It’s so funny, chaotic, romantic, and most importantly, once you hear how their first date went, you’ll know Jungkook and Jin hyung were meant to be.”

Namjoon agrees. “They’re definitely soulmates or something - don’t look at me like that Taehyung. I know you and Jimin are soulmates, but I think they are too! -  I don’t think any other person would agree to get into a relationship after such a mess of a date.  Sorry – opposite date, like what even is that?”

“OKAY!” Jungkook cuts in, knowing how Namjoon rambles when he starts to get in his thoughts. “You know what? I’ll begin. So…”

June 13, 2017

It was just like any other day, really. Birds chirping in the morning as the sun started to rise, light slowly drifting in through his curtains, and his alarm waking him up. What’s different about today, however, is the fact that his alarm woke him up at 8am, earlier than he would usually wake up.

Jungkook absolutely despised mornings and having to wake up because he didn’t want to leave his comfortable bed and go out into the real world to deal with everyone’s shit. But like every other day, he just sluggishly pulled himself out of bed and into the bathroom to get ready for the day.

Feeling a bit more awake after washing up, he walks into the kitchen where he spots his roommate (also known as the man he’s been crushing on ever since he moved into the apartment but if anyone asks, he’ll strongly deny this fact), Seokjin, already making himself a cup of coffee.

[“and they were roommates” Yoongi interrupts. “Oh my god, they were roommates.”

“… you have no idea how many times we’ve heard that from Tae-hyung and Jimin hyung when we first started dating. They even got Joonie-hyung in on it and now it’s a running joke between us. I think Tae-hyung and Jin hyung might’ve recreated that vine actually and posted it on TikTok…But anyways, shhhh. Let me continue. Now, where were we?”]

Seokjin was literally the man of his dreams – no – the man of everyone’s dreams. How could he not be? With his soft-spoken voice that made everyone feel comfortable immediately, sparkling brown eyes that were so inviting and warm, cheeks that puffed up whenever he smiled, and his lips, plump and soft - lips that he’s dreamt of kissing so many times, wondering how they would feel against his own. In combination with his body which was one that rivalled that of a Greek god. Seokjin was blessed with having broad shoulders and the tiniest waist Jungkook has ever seen. Honestly speaking, Jungkook was jealous as fuck sometimes with how amazing Seokjin’s body looked because Seokjin ate whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted, and would only go to the gym 3 times a week. Jungkook? He had to put in a conscious effort to keep his body in shape and looking how he wanted. He went to the gym every day and would limit the amount of sweets he would let himself consume.

Rubbing his eyes to remove any lingering traces of his tiredness, he greets the cute man in the kitchen who was wearing a matching set of pajamas with a fluffy alpaca character all over them.

“Good morning Jin hyung! What are you still doing here? It’s like 8:30 am or something. Shouldn’t you have left for your internship already?

“Morning Jungkookie! What do you mean? It’s … a Saturday? If anything, I should be the one asking you what you’re doing up so early.” Seokjin turns around with his fresh cup of coffee, eyes wide with confusion. “Are you okay? Are you feeling sick? Should I make you some tea?”

“What? It’s not a Saturday!” Jungkook pulls his phone out to check. Oh. It is a Saturday. But why…? Suddenly he pieces everything together and lets out an annoyed groan. “Taehyung! Ugh. Hyung, no offence, but I hate your brother sometimes.”

Now knowing that Jungkook isn’t feeling unwell and was just tricked by his brother, Seokjin laughs.  “Me too, but why? What’d he do this time?”

“We were facetiming with Jimin last night until about 3am and Taehyung told me to remember to set my alarm for 8am tomorrow before we all hung up to go to sleep. He said we had an online exam at 9am and being so tired, I would’ve believed him if he said Voldemort was coming to attack me at 9am. But if it’s a Saturday, that means he lied to me! We never have exams on Saturdays.”

“Sounds like Taehyung. He used to pull pranks on Joon and I all the time when we were growing up. Once, he somehow managed to convince us he was a vampire – don’t ask me how and why I believed him because I really don’t know – and told us he couldn’t go out in sunlight or he’d sparkle like the vampires did in Twilight. He also said that he could only eat McDonald’s or red candy to ‘strengthen his stomach and teeth’ since he didn’t want to consume blood, and that he was, in fact, older than us, making us call him hyung instead. We believed him for the day, blocking off his windows to avoid sunlight coming in, ordering McDonald’s to be delivered to our house for him, I even gave him all the red candy I had in my secret stash of junk food.”

“How did you find out he was lying?”

“We found out hours later when Taehyung rushed downstairs at the sound of our parents coming home and announcing that they brought home jjajangmyeon for dinner. Namjoon and I got so mad at Taehyung for tricking us into buying him McDonald’s and giving him my candy. We were also mad because we were genuinely concerned he might burn and sparkle if even a ray of sunlight hit him. I think we gave him the silent treatment for two days before he wrote us apology cards asking for forgiveness, even giving us our favourite candies that he asked our parents to get for him.”

Jungkook lets out a loud laugh at the ridiculous story, and Seokjin joins in with one of his squeaky laughs that Jungkook finds so endearing.

“That story cannot be real. Are you lying to me hyung?”

“No! Why would I lie about that story? It’s so ridiculous that no one would be able to make it up. I’m so embarrassed right now. I can’t believe how gullible I was back then.”

“Hyung, you were so cute. What happened?” He teased.

“Watch what you’re saying Jungkook! I’m still cute. Look!” Seokjin exaggeratingly pouts at him and widens his eyes comically to resemble the puppy eyes emoji. “Aren’t I cute?”

Jungkook blushes. Of course he’s cute. Jungkook finds everything he does extremely cute. “I mean… it might be the lack of sleep in me talking but I guess one would say that you’re cute.”

“I know. I just wanted to hear you say it.” Seokjin says confidently, but Jungkook can tell he’s shy because his ears are a bright red.

“Oh. Well, haha… okay then – um, well this has been a nice talk, I guess. But I’ll leave you to your coffee and whatever else you were doing, yes yes. Um, I have to go plant my waters – no wait, I mean water my plants – yes. Back in my room, so haha. Bye.” With that, Jungkook rushes back to his room, closing his door with a loud noise.

Once he’s back in his room, he leans his back against the door and brings his hands up to his cheeks to feel how warm they are. He also can’t help but let out a wide grin because of their recent interaction in the kitchen, Seokjin was definitely flirting with him then. Maybe today’s the day he’ll make his move on the other.

[“You know you never actually said I was cute that day Jungkook.” Seokjin pouts. “You said ‘one would say’ not ‘yes hyung. I think you’re extremely cute’.

Jungkook defends himself. “I didn’t know you liked me too at that time! I didn’t want to risk anything or make you feel uncomfortable.”

“Awww. Jungkook, you’re so cute.” Seokjin replies back, and gives him a kiss on the nose, at which Jungkook blushes slightly.

“Okay but can I just say how dumb Namjoon hyung and Seokjin hyung are, for believing that Taehyung was actually a vampire?” Jimin laughs, along with Yoongi and Hoseok.

“In our defense, Taehyungie was really convincing! It wasn’t just a one-day prank. He spent an entire week convincing us he was getting sick from the sun before telling us he was a vampire.”

“Yeah! What Jin hyung said. And also, we were really young, so we didn’t know better.”

Hoseok asks “Well, how old were you guys?”

“Definitely too old to think I was a vampire.” Taehyung laughs as he shifts on the couch to a more comfortable position where he was laying his head on Jimin’s legs. “I think Jin hyung was 11, Namjoon hyung was 9, and I was 8.”

More laughter ensues from everyone, including Namjoon and Seokjin themselves, with them letting out embarrassed laughs.

Once the laughter died down, Seokjin took over the story telling and continued.]

Back in the kitchen, Seokjin is smiling fondly at how cute the younger is. However, he will admit that he’s slightly disappointed their flirting didn’t go on for longer and that Jungkook didn’t ask him out once again. He thinks he makes it very obvious that he has feelings for the other but Jungkook hasn’t seemed to pick up on anything – the constant compliments, teasing, light touches, and even very obvious flirting like what just happened in the kitchen! The boy was either extremely oblivious or he knew of Seokjin’s feeling but did not want to acknowledge them. If it weren’t for the fact that Jungkook was one of his younger brother’s best friends, he most likely would’ve asked Jungkook out a long time ago or at least slept with him to get him out of his system, instead of waiting for the other to make the first move.

Taehyung was actually the one who referred Jungkook to Seokjin when he was in search of a new roommate because his old one had a year-long internship in the States for his university program. They met in their first year of university when they were placed in a triple room with Jimin. Seeing how close the three of them are, no one would believe they met so recently, they act more like childhood friends then university friends.

Originally the plan was for Jungkook to move into an apartment with Taehyung and Jimin when first year ended but the two of them got together and Jungkook decided he didn’t want to intrude on the couple, choosing to look for an alternative place instead. Luckily, around that same time, Seokjin’s roommate told him that he wasn’t going to be extending his lease for another year due to his internship and knowing this, Taehyung talked to him before he made a posting about looking for a new roommate on his school’s online student community.  When he explained Jungkook’s situation to Seokjin and asked if he would be willing to take Jungkook in as his new roommate, he agreed immediately, trusting Taehyung’s judgement of people. It seems like Jungkook probably felt the same way because Taehyung told Seokjin that Jungkook agreed to move into Seokjin’s apartment even before he could finish telling him everything. He said that Jungkook said that as long as Seokjin was okay with everything, he would love to be his new roommate.

Seokjin remembers when he met Jungkook for the very first time – it was the day Jungkook moved in.  He was in the shower when he heard loud knocks on his door, causing him to hurriedly finish his shower and wrap a towel around his waist, grabbing an extra towel to dry his hair as much as possible on the way to answer the door. Opening the door, looking up, ready to apologize for the way he looked and for taking so long, all the words at the tip of his tongue disappeared. The person standing before him was one of the hottest people he’s ever seen, which is saying a lot coming from him since he’s been told he has high standards. They had a slightly annoyed expression on their face, jaw clenched slightly, which highlighted their sharp jawline and slim face. Moving his eyes downwards to scan their entire body, Seokjin mentally compliments them on their amazing physique, with toned arms covered in beautiful, intricately designed tattoos, long legs, thighs that were accentuated by the tight black ripped jeans they had on, and even though they were wearing an oversized t-shirt, Seokjin could just tell they were probably hiding some abs under there. He didn’t stop staring until he heard Taehyung cough behind the unknown man, introducing him as Jungkook, Seokjin’s new roommate.

At the sound of Taehyung’s cough, Seokjin looked up again to apologize to Jungkook like he intended to and noticed that Jungkook had changed his expression into a smiling, polite one. If Seokjin had to pick a favourite feature of Jungkooks, it had to be either his big bambi eyes filled with stars or his cute bunny smile. He never believed in love at first sight, but with Jungkook he thinks it was attraction at first sight.

[“Pause.”

“Holy fuck. Why are there so many interruptions? Hoseok and I want to finish hearing the story tonight please. At this rate, with all these interruptions, it’s going to take a fucking week before either of them finishes telling us about their first date.” Yoongi complains.

Ignoring him, Jungkook continues, “Wait, hyungie, are you saying that if Tae-hyung wasn’t your brother, you would’ve made a move on me way sooner? What the fuck?” Turning to Taehyung, he whines, “Hyung! Fuck you. Why did you have to cock block me? I could’ve been having hot, steamy sex and getting my back blown out with hyungs big dick if you weren’t related!”

“Jungkook!” Seokjin exclaims, cheeks burning red.

“Ew, what the fuck Jungkook? We did not need to hear that.”

“Yeah, what Yoongi hyung said. Siri, how do I erase the last 2 minutes from my head?”

“What? It’s not like you guys didn’t know hyung was, well, hung, get it? All of you have literally heard us having sex. Remember when we went to Hawaii last year and rented out a beach house? I think I had some of the best sex with hyung there – must’ve had something to do with the fact that we were on vacation...”

“Jungkook! Shut up or we’re not having sex tonight!”

At that, Jungkook shuts up and smiles cheekily up at Seokjin.

“Okay, first of all, ew. I didn’t need to hear about you and hyung having sex. That’s my brother we’re talking about” Taehyung starts.

“But-”

“SECOND, it’s true. Us Kim brothers have big dicks, just throwing that out there Hoseok hyung and Yoongi hyung.” Taehyung continues, with a wink thrown in their directions, head tilting to point at Namjoon.

Hoseok and Yoongi throw a quick glance at each other and Namjoon before looking down and avoiding eye contact with everyone, faces aflame. While Namjoon looks like he’s debating between killing Taehyung for suggesting something like that or disappearing off the face of the earth.

“Third, I can’t believe you just said that Jungkook. If Jin hyung wasn’t my brother, how would you two have met? If anything, you should be thanking me for introducing you two, and for getting you two together in the end. I never understood why you two didn’t just ask me if you could get together, it’s not like I would’ve said no. I knew about Jungkook’s crush on hyung from day 1, he didn’t try to hide it. He kept talking about a crush on an unattainable guy who shared a lot of similarities with Jin hyung.”

It seemed like either Jimin or Jungkook were about to speak up after Taehyung but before they got the chance, Namjoon, avoiding eye contact with both Hoseok and Yoongi who were seated beside him on the couch, spoke up.

“Can we please stop talk about dicks? Hyung, please just continue with the story and no one else interrupt. The next person to interrupt has to pay for dinner the next time we all go out.”

“I’m just saying… I think it’s unfair how I missed out on about a year of good dick because my best friend is my fiancé’s brother…”

“Hmm. How would the saying ‘bros before hoes’ work in this situation? Like, would Tae be the bro and Jin hyung the hoe? But Jin hyung is Tae’s bro so is Jungkookie the hoe in the end?” Jimin inquires.

“HYUNG! Resume the story NOW, please.”

Finishing his coffee, he washes the cup and puts it back in the cupboard before returning to his room to work on his weekly report for his social media marketing internship.

About 3 hours later, he hears a tentative knock on his door. Saving his work in case his computer crashes, like it has many times before causing him to lose hours of research and work, he steps away from his desk to open the door wondering what Jungkook wanted. It was unusual for Jungkook to look for him because in the past 11 months they’ve been roommates, Jungkook has only knocked on his door looking for him twice – once when he first moved in and wanted to know if he could have some friends over, mostly Taehyung and Jimin but some others too once in a while, and the second time because Seokjin didn’t hear the doorbell ring since he was listening to music and someone was here for him.

“Jungkook?”

“Oh! Hey hyung. Um – so, haha, how are you?”

Seokjin raises an eyebrow, lips curling up in a smile. “I’m doing well, the same as this morning, how are you?”

“Right. This morning. I’m doing great too! I was just wondering…”

“Yes? I can’t help you if I can’t hear you Jungkookie.”

“Well… I was just wondering ifyouwouldliketogoonadatewithmelatertoday?” He says in one breath.

Mistakenly taking Seokjin’s silence and shock as a ‘no’, Jungkook quickly backtracks. “I mean! Only if you’re comfortable of course. It can be a friend date! I know it must be weird since I’m your brothers’ best friend and your roommate, but it doesn’t have to be a date date. We can go on an opposite date!”

“… an opposite date? What is that?” Seokjin’s heart deflates. He wanted to go out on an actual date with Jungkook but since Jungkook said it was weird, he went along with the idea of the opposite date.

“People usually go on a date with someone they have feelings for, right? And they get all dressed up, someone gives the other flowers, and they’re nervous the entire time. An opposite date is where two friends, who don’t have feelings for each other, go out alone, just the two of them, and don’t get dressed up, eat weird food, do weird things, and just hang out. I saw it on an episode of Victorious.” Jungkook tells him with blushing cheeks and wide eyes.

Oh my god. Seokjin thinks Jungkook cannot get any cuter than he is in this moment. He really took an idea from an American sitcom and wants them, two Koreans, to go on this ‘opposite date’.

“Sounds fun. Let’s do it.”

“Wait. Really? Is that a yes? You’re really saying yes?”

“Yeah! Why not?” It was adorable how Jungkook was so surprised with him saying yes. Maybe he really was just oblivious to Seokjin’s feelings.

“Holy shit, YES! I mean, okay. Sounds great hyung. What about later today at 5pm? I’ll plan everything.”

“Are you sure? I can do some planning too.”

“No. No planning from you. This is an opposite date so just act like it’s any other day, okay hyung? And wear your worst clothes! But something you can still work out in because I have something active planned.”

“Alright Jungkook. I’ll see you later in my worst clothes then.” Seokjin pauses. “Although, it is lunch time now, so would you like to join me in the kitchen? I’m making Kimchi Bokumbap.”

Seokjin lied when he said he didn’t think Jungkook could get any cuter just a few moments ago because the wide bunny like smile that made its way onto Jungkook’s face and his big doe eyes crinkling up with joy is the cutest he’s ever seen Jungkook.

“I would love to join you for lunch hyung, if you don’t mind.”

“It’d be my pleasure to have company for lunch. Let’s go then.”

-

At exactly 5pm, Jungkook knocked on his door.

When he opened his door, he was greeted with the sight of Jungkook dressed similarly to him, wearing a black oversized sweater with black sweatpants, while he was in a matching dark blue sweat suit. In his hands, he held a sheet of paper…?

Shyly smiling, Jungkook handed the paper of to him. “I know this isn’t a date and we aren’t supposed to get each other anything but I still wanted to give you something. It’s not much and technically, it doesn’t count because I drew it myself so -”

Interrupting Jungkook to take a look at what was handed to him, he dropped his mouth in awe when he saw that it was a picture of him in the kitchen cooking earlier today. “Jungkook…  you drew this? Just now? I had no idea you could draw - wait, no. That came out wrong. I meant I didn’t know you were so artistic.”

“Ah hyung. You like it?” Jungkook asks nervously. “Drawing is just a hobby of mine. It’s more Tae-hyung’s thing but whenever I’m extremely stressed or anxious, I find that drawing relaxes me.”

“Of course I like it, Jungkook! This is so sweet. I’m going to buy a frame to display it in. Thank you. Now I feel bad I didn’t get you anything.”

“Oh no, hyung it’s completely fine. Like I said, I just wanted to give you something since it’s the first time we’re going out together, just the two of us – as friends! As friends.”

“Right… are you ready to go?”

“Yeah. You look awful, by the way.”

Seokjin would’ve been offended but Jungkook throws him a wink and he’s reminded that it’s an opposite date where they’re supposed to look awful.

“You look awful too, Kook. We match.” He responds with a big, teasing smile.

Putting their shoes on, Seokjin asks, “So, are you going to tell me what we’re going to do?”

Jungkook throws a cheeky smile up at him from where he was on his knees tying up his black chunky shoes that Seokjin can’t understand how they could be comfortable to wear but to each their own, he guesses, and says, “Nope. You’ll find out when we get there. Trust me, it’s bad.”

When he’s done tying up his shoelaces, he grabs his keys off the key hook by the front door and tells Seokjin he’s driving.

-

The car ride over to the first destination was kind of awkward. Seokjin could see Jungkook gripping tightly onto the steering wheel with one hand, the other nervously tapping on his thigh, and giving him glances once in a while, almost like he was trying to make sure he was actually there in the car with him. After about 5 minutes of the nervous tapping and silence, apart from the music playing quietly in the background, he risks reaching his left hand over to grab Jungkook’s right hand to stop the tapping and to hopefully reduce some of his nervousness.

It worked. It also brought a smile onto Jungkook’s face and caused him to loosen his grip on the steering wheel, which made Seokjin let out a smile as well. The rest of the car ride was still mostly silent, but the atmosphere lightened up immensely with Jungkook singing lightly under his breath when he liked the song playing.

The night is young but Seokjin has already noticed so many new things about Jungkook that he didn’t notice before tonight. Like, the small mole under his lip and on his nose, the fact that he drew really well, how he has a beautiful singing voice, and his cute habit of tilting his head to the side for a split second whenever he was annoyed. He hopes that he’s able to continue to discover more things about Jungkook as the night progresses.

He was so distracted, caught up in his thoughts about Jungkook and his endearing traits, that he didn’t notice that they had arrived. It wasn’t until Jungkook pulled his hand out of their hold to open his door, that he realized where they were at.

Jungkook took him to a gym. Not just any gym. A boxing gym.

Stepping out of the car, he asks in disbelief, “You took me to a boxing gym for our not date?”

“Opposite date.”

“Okay fine, opposite date. You really took me to a gym?”

“Isn’t it great? This isn’t even the best part, come on. Let’s head inside. Class is about to start!” Jungkook says, reconnecting their hands once again to eagerly drag him inside the building.

Walking up to the reception desk, Jungkook asks for the details of where the class is located.

“Hi miss. How are you? We’re here for the 5:30pm beginner’s boxing class.”

Looking up from where she was furiously typing on her keyboard, she raises an eyebrow.

“The beginner’s boxing class? Are you sure? What are your names?”

“I’m Jeon Jungkook and I signed up for Kim Seokjin as well.”

“Alright… I do see your names registered for that class. But sir, you are aware that -”

“Yup! It’s a surprise for him so please don’t say anything.”

“Ah. I see. The classroom is 3B and it’s located just downstairs, third room to the right. Have a great class.” The receptionist nods understandingly towards Jungkook and flashes an amused smile at Seokjin, looking him up and down once before chuckling to herself and returning back to her work.

Seokjin is confused and a little worried. Why did the receptionist raise an eyebrow in confusion and have to confirm the class they were attending? And why did she laugh when she looked him over?

“Jungkook? Why did she laugh when she looked at me? We’re not doing some crazy class are we?”

“Shhhhh Seokjinnie hyung. You’ll see soon enough.”

“Wait. What did you just call me?” Seokjin’s worry was put on hold by the cute nickname he heard coming out of Jungkook’s mouth.

“Seokjinni-oh. I’m sorry. It just slipped out, it won’t hap-”

“Please continue to call me Seokjinnie-hyung. It’s cute, I like it.”

In response, Jungkook gives him one of his adorable bunny smiles. “Okay Seokjinnie hyung.”

He’s still distracted by the boy with the bunny smile whose eyes reflect the night sky when he walks into the room, not noticing all the looks they’re getting.

“Surprise hyung! The first part to our opposite date is a kid’s beginner boxing class.”

Finally noticing all the pairs of eyes on them and how much younger they were, Seokjin heats up in embarrassment. He can’t believe that Jungkook really brought them to a kid’s boxing class, but he didn’t have the heart to say anything because Jungkook looked so pleased with himself.

“Yay. Fun.” He weakly manages to get out.

“I know it’s not ideal, but I like boxing and I heard Tae-hyung once mention offhandedly that you used to box so I thought, why not attend a kid’s beginners boxing class for the shits and giggles on our opposite date?”

Weirdly enough, when class begun, he did start to enjoy himself. In a weird way it was therapeutic for him and he didn’t realize how much he missed boxing until now. Maybe he should take up boxing again or find some way to work it into his workout routine.

Everything was going perfectly well, with him and Jungkook having a great time and purposely using the wrong form or incorrectly throwing out a boxing combo to make each other laugh, until Jungkook accidentally fell when he attempted to kick the punching bag and missed, at the end of class. That was when all hell broke loose.

Just kidding. But it did start an argument between Jungkook and one of the kid’s in the class.

As Jungkook was getting up, laughing it off with Seokjin, a kid dauntingly spoke up. “Hah. Are you dumb old man? Everyone knows kicking isn’t allowed in boxing or are you too dumb to understand that? Also, I’ve been watching you and your friend during class and my grandma can box better than you two! Especially you! You suck!”

Seokjin looked around the class wondering where their instructor went because he could see Jungkook starting to get annoyed.

“Oh? Are you too dumb to respond to me too? Oh my god, I’m sorry. I forgot that old people can’t hear.” The kid continued, sticking his tongue out.

“Jungkoo-”

Turning to face the kid, Jungkook responds, “Kid, you better watch what you’re saying, or I swear…”

“Oh no. I’m soooooo scared that some grandpa is going to beat me up. Boohoo.”

“Jungkook stop. He’s just a kid. Let’s just go.”

“Ok hyung.”

“Hold on. Wait a second,” the kid says as he approaches the two of them, looking over at Seokjin, “Are you his boyfriend? If you are, why? You could do so much better than a loser like him. He can’t even box but I can.”

Ew, what the fuck is this kid implying, Seokjin thinks to himself but before he can respond, Jungkook speaks again, this time sounding really angry.

“What the fuck did you just say? What do you mean I’m a loser? And what are you implying? That he should be with someone like you? Aren’t you like 11?”

“I’m actually 16 but go off asshole.”

“Asshole. That’s funny. Who taught you that? Pewdiepie? Also, if you’re 16 and you can box so well like you claim, why are you in this kid’s beginners class meant for ages 6-12?”

“Why are you? At least I’m still close in age, what are you? Like 50?”

Jungkook lunges for the kid but Seokjin holds him back, restraining him in his arms, once again looking around wondering where the instructor went and why he’s not breaking this up.

“50? I’m only 21 you fucker.”

“You can’t talk to a kid like that Jungkook.”

“21 is OLD, grandpa. Hey sexy, let him go so we can box for you. Don’t worry, I’ll win.”

Seokjin thinks he feels a bit of vomit in his mouth.

“OH THAT’S IT. Get over here Shrek. Let’s fight.”

Finally spotting the instructor, Seokjin calls him over to get a hold of the kid so they could leave in peace. However, it doesn’t seem like the kid is done even when the instructor pulls him away.

“Anytime, anywhere. Just name the location and I’ll be there.”

Trying to lunge at the kid once again, Jungkook shouts “I swear when I get my fucking hands on you, you’ll wish you never met me.”

Feeling embarrassed with all the parents arriving now, Seokjin apologizes to the instructor and to the parents before grabbing their things with one hand, the other still wrapped around Jungkook to hold him back and starts to drag him out the room.

Walking them out of the gym, Seokjin says, “No, you will not be back Jungkook. No fighting kids, even if he did deserve it.”

“So, you’re not mad?”

“Not mad… just a little embarrassed because we’re older than the 16-year-old and shouldn’t have said anything even if he was being a little shit. Also, I can’t believe you swore in front of all those actual kids.”

“I’m sorry hyung. I just got caught up in the moment because I -” Jungkook abruptly stops his sentence, a blush making its way onto his cheeks.

When Seokjin give him a questioning look, Jungkook just shakes his head and moves to hug him instead, burying his head in Seokjin’s chest. His heart skips a few beats and he returns the hug while thinking to himself, that this is something he could get used to. They stay like that in front of the gym for a few minutes before Jungkook lets go of the hug, a faint blush still on his cheeks.

[“What the fuck Jungkook, I can’t believe you actually argued with a 16-year-old.” Yoongi bursts out into laughter, the rest of the group following shortly after. “Lord Farquaad? Shrek loving? Troll?”

“Suddenly the Shrek movie, boxing gloves, and troll doll make sense.” Hoseok says while laughing uncontrollably.

“Honestly, something like this would only happen to Seokjin and Jungkook. Who else would willingly go to a kid’s boxing class when they’re both advanced boxers?”

Hiding his head in Seokjin’s chest, Jungkook mumbles, “It’s because it was an opposite date.”

“Yah, stop teasing my Jungkookie! We had fun at the class until we had to remove ourselves, but even then, the argument was funny.”

“Alright, alright. What happens next hyung?”

Jimin, still giggling about Jungkook’s insults, speaks up. “The rest of the date isn’t as exciting as the boxing class but it’s still really cute and very Jungkook and Seokjin.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?!”

“Nothing hyung. Just that you two are very special and unique, which is why you two work so well together and why we love you so much.”]

It’s a few moments after they get back in the car to drive to their next destination, hand in hand like before, when Jungkook speaks up. “Thanks for not being mad or questioning me hyung. Now that I’ve calmed down, it was childish, but you have to admit, I got in some pretty good insults in there and he did deserve it.”

Seokjin laughs. “He definitely did deserve it. I think my favourite insult was ‘Lord Farquaad looking ass’, I really hope he heard it. Ugh, I can’t believe he was trying to insinuate that he would be my perfect guy. Sounds like a case waiting to happen.”

Jungkook is silent for a couple of seconds before hesitatingly asking, “Hyung? If you don’t mind me asking, and you don’t have to answer if you don’t want to, but what would your perfect guy be like?”

“I wouldn’t say I’m looking for a perfect guy because that would be impossible. Everyone has their imperfections, which is perfectly fine because I have some too.” He pauses briefly to gather his thoughts. “I guess I would just want someone understanding, athletic, creative, kind-hearted, and someone who shares a similar sense of humour to me.”

Someone like you, he thinks but doesn’t voice out.

“Well I hope you find your someone soon, hyung, because you deserve all the best.”

“I hope so too, Jungkookie.”

Before he could muster up the courage to ask Jungkook what his ideal person would be, not wanting to actually hear his answer in fear of Jungkook listing traits that he doesn’t have, they arrive at a sketchy thrift store.

“Uh, Jungkook. You didn’t bring me here to kill me, right?”

“What? Of course not! We’re all sweaty and gross from the gym so I thought it’d be fun to get each other new outfits, but with a twist because these are actually all old clothes.”

“I – this actually sounds really interesting. I get to pick out a new outfit for you? And you have to wear it?”

“Yeah! The only thing is we can’t go over ₩50,000 on the outfits for each other but other than that, whatever you pick for me, I’ll have to wear, and you have to wear what I pick for you. To make things more fun, no revealing the outfits until they’re both paid for okay?”

“Alright. I’m really excited for this. Get ready to look ridiculous Jungkook.”

“Let’s turn this into a competition then, hyung.  Person who comes up with the most ridiculous outfit wins and the loser has to buy them ice cream.”

Raising an eyebrow, Seokjin agrees. There’s no way he’s losing this. He can recall his childhood when him and his brothers would hold competitions to see who came up with the ugliest outfits and would make their parents judge.

“You’re on. Loser buys ice cream.”

“Okay, what are you waiting for? Let’s go inside. We each have 5 minutes to look around before we have to buy an outfit, and the other has to get changed into it. We’ll reveal our new outfits to each other back here, by the car.”

They both set a timer on their phones for 5 minutes when they get in the store. Jungkook immediately dashes off to a random corner of the store while Seokjin looks around to see if anything catches his eye. Spotting something bright gold in the corner of his eyes, he walks over to grab the item in question to find that it was a pair of leggings. Looking through the rack of clothes, he spots a sleeveless, roughly cut red sparkly blazer, similar in texture to the pair of leggings so he grabs them both, choosing to base the rest of his outfit for Jungkook on these two pieces. Walking slowly down the aisle, another thing catches his eyes as he walks towards it quickly, mindful of the time he has left. It was a dark blue short-sleeve dress shirt with hints of beige and light blue, similar to tie-dye but not quite and right beside the shirt was a pair of blue and green swim trunks – perfect.

Having all the main pieces, Seokjin glances down at the timer on his phone to see if he has enough time to grab some accessories. He only had a minute and a half left so he heads towards the counter instead. Luckily for him, all the accessories are located right beside the counter and there he finds a sparkly blue fedora with a big green feather that would match the gold and red pieces he has, as well as the blue and green from the shirt and pants. He also grabs a pair of glasses that looked animated and a set of fairy wings to complete the look. At the very last minute, he decides to grab a paper crown too and purchases some glue, to attach it to the swim trunks an make it a belt.

Shortly after he purchased his items, which came to a total of ₩49,950 just within budget, Jungkook finishes with his purchase as well and they exchange the items, heading towards the changing rooms.

Taking a look at what was handed to him once he got to the change room, he was confused. All the items looked relatively normal…? His outfit consists of a neon green/yellow traffic vest, a white t-shirt with a patterned green and black ribbon going side to side, black cargo pants with patches of grey and a ribbon cinching them in tightly around the ankles, and a chunky belt with fake flowers all over, completed with an owl on the buckle.

He feels slightly bad when he sees his completed look from Jungkook because he gave Jungkook a pretty wild outfit but at the same time, it was a competition and he wanted to win.

When he walks out of the shop, towards Jungkook’s car, he’s surprised to see Jungkook already there. He’s also surprised to see how good Jungkook looks in the ridiculous outfit. Why is god testing him and his limits by putting this fine specimen of a man in front of him but not letting him have him?

Approaching Jungkook, he’s able to get a closer look at the outfit and notices that Jungkook is holding the crown and the glue, unsure what to do with it. Grabbing the crown and glue from Jungkook, who gets startled by his actions because he didn’t hear him approach, he puts glue on the unfolded paper crown and sticks it to the belt area of the swim trunks.

Stepping back so he could take in the full view of Jungkook in his completed outfit, he lets out a loud laugh.

“There we go, the outfit is finally complete. I must say, Jungkookie, I don’t know whether I should be impressed or mad that you look good in the outfit.”

Looking at Seokjin in his outfit, Jungkook lets out a laugh as well. “You look great in your outfit too, hyung. I think neon green is your colour. However, I think you win this one because I look crazy right now. I don’t know how you managed to pick out such crazy pieces but somehow make them all work together. Maybe if you get tired of marketing, you could go into fashion designing instead because you have a real eye for it.”

“Yah! No need to make fun of me Jungkook, but I do agree that I win this round. I truly outdid myself. Wait, hold on, I need to take a picture of this to send to Taehyung and Namjoon. Could you please pose as if you were Peter Pan?”

“I wasn’t making fun of you! I really think you could go into fashion design or you could even combine fashion and marketing and go into fashion marketing. I’ll support whatever you want to do hyung.” Jungkook says before posing like Seokjin instructed.

Not knowing how to respond to genuine compliments, Seokjin just blushes slightly and starts to take pictures. Jungkook kept moving around for him to take pictures until he got the perfect shot. The one he ended up sending to his group chat with Taehyung and Namjoon was one where Jungkook was jumping with a kick out towards the camera and his fists raised.

[“I was actually about to print the picture and add it to the box but Jimin didn’t let me.” Taehyung says while pouting at Jimin.

“Because I didn’t think it belonged! We got you guys a gift card instead so you could do it again but this time, only 25,000 each. Wouldn’t that be a fun date idea?” Jimin suggests. “Hey! How about next time, we all go to a thrift store and buy outfits for each other? We can pick names at random, and this time, we can take the outfits home to decorate before handing it to the person we shopped for.”

“Dibs on making an outfit for Yoongi!” Seokjin calls out.

“Hey! What? Why? No offence hyung but from how you described Jungkook’s outfit, I’m going to have to pass on that.”

“If you think I’m bad, Namjoon and Taehyung might be worse than me.”

Namjoon defends himself, “What do you mean hyung? Your outfits were always the worst when we were younger. Mom and Dad mostly chose you as the winner of our ugly outfit contests and if not you, it was Taehyung.”

“I guess we’ll see when we manage to find time to go thrift shopping then.”

Looking up at Seokjin, Jungkook whispers, “Hyung, no offence but that outfit was awful. It only worked because I’m handsome.”

And Seokjin whispers back, “I know but I also knew you would love great in anything, so I tried to have a fun time. It’s one of my favourite memories of us because of how much we laughed. I love you Jungkook.”

“I love you too hyung.”

“… okay, that was nauseatingly cute, but can we move onto the ice cream part now?”

“Shut up Hoseok hyung. We’re having a moment here. Sorry if you and Yoongi hyung are too scared to confess your feelings to Namjoon hyung. You’re missing out on some good-”

Seokjin slaps a hand on Jungkook’s mouth. “Okay. That’s enough of that. Don’t you just love Jungkook haha. He’ll tell the rest of the story now as punishment for being a little shit tonight.”

“Ooo punishment.” Someone whispers, probably Taehyung, before letting out a little grunt of pain from Namjoon elbowing them.]

Showing Jungkook the picture he sent to Namjoon and Taehyung, Jungkook laughed at how Seokjin managed to perfectly capture the vibe, and after taking a selfie together, they get back in the car.

Their next stop was an ice cream shop to get Seokjin the ice cream Jungkook owed him. It was a short drive from the thrift shop, only taking 10 minutes. Pulling into the well-known ice cream shop by their campus, Jungkook could see a few university students inside with their friends. This was everyone’s favourite ice cream shop to go to because not only was it close to their campus, but the ice cream shop also offered low prices for quality ice cream, even featuring unique ice cream flavours once a month.

As they walk up to the display case to see the available ice cream flavours, ignoring the weird looks and stares they were getting because of their outfits, Jungkook and Seokjin both let out a shudder when they see the featured flavour of the month is Cheetos. Maybe the flavour would work in America but in Korea? No thank you.

They decided on what they wanted quickly and go over to the cashier.

“Hi, can I please get a scoop of green tea ice cream and mint chocolate chip ice cream in a cup please?”

Feeling a stare on him, Jungkook looks at Seokjin questioningly.

“You like mint chocolate chip ice cream? Who have I been out with this entire night? How could you like such a disgusting flavour? It tastes like toothpaste and chocolate! Would you eat toothpaste on chocolate? No! So how could you eat mint chocolate chip ice cream?”

“You don’t like mint chocolate chip ice cream? It’s one of the best flavours ever! What is this disrespect?”

“But I don’t get it. Jungkookie look at how much of that flavour is left. It’s one of the least popular ice cream flavours. Even the scent of mint chocolate ice cream makes me gag.”

Wanting to tease Seokjin, he asks, “So, you don’t have a gag reflex?”

“Is that seriously all you got from that Jungkook?”

He shrugs with a playful smirk on his face, “Thought I’d ask”

“Well, I guess you’ll have to find out yourself, huh?”

They’re interrupted by a cough. The cashier, looking annoyed but also blushing at the same time, says, “I don’t mean to interrupt whatever that was but, uh, you’re kind of being really loud and holding up the line. Is there anything else I can get for you?”

“I’ll take two scoops of Cotton Candy Wonderland on a cone, thank you.”

“Okay, your total comes to ₩8,200. How would you like to pay today?”

In shock from Seokjin’s comment because he didn’t think he’d actually play along, instead thinking that Seokjin would just blush that cute blush of his and his ears would get red, he didn’t hear the cashier. But when he notices movement in front of his face and sees Seokjin extending his credit card, he pushes his arm away to grab his wallet.

“I got it hyung. I promised remember?” Turning to the cashier, he hands over a coupon. “I have this ‘Buy One, Get One’ coupon I’d like to use.”

“Alright, so your total is now ₩4,100.”

Jungkook hands over the rest of the amount in cash and is handed their ice creams in return. Thanking the cashier, they both walk out of the shop to escape the prying eyes and flashing phones.

Since the weather is so nice, Seokjin suggests walking over to the park close by and having their ice cream there, to which Jungkook agrees. They find an empty park bench and sit down.

“You know there’s going to be pictures of us circulating around campus, right? I saw a few phones out, taking pictures of our outfits.”

“Hyung, I think they mostly took pictures of me because of how great I look. Watch, some people are going to start dressing like me soon. Don’t be jealous that I’m the Regina George and you’re just Cady Heron.”

They both laugh. The atmosphere is nice and Jungkook doesn’t want the night to end. He glances over to Seokjin, who’s looking up at the moon in silence with a serene smile on his face, slowly eating his ice cream. Jungkook wants to capture this moment and wants many more like it. Feeling like it’s now or never, he decides to tell Seokjin about his feelings.

“Hyung?”

With the serene smile still on his face, Seokjin turns to look at Jungkook.

“Hm Jungkook?”

“I – I really like you hyung.”

“I like you too Jungkook. Tonight’s been really nice and I’m glad we were able to get to know each other a bit more.”

“No hyung. I like you, as in I have romantic feelings for you.” His heart is beating frantically. “I’ve liked you ever since I moved in because of how nice you were to me and because as I got to know you more, I realized that there’s so much more to you that no one ever gets to know because you like to keep to yourself. But by living with you, I get the unique chance to see who you really are. You’re Kim Seokjin, a social media marketing student but you have so many other talents and passions that you could also pursue and be successful with. You excel in whatever you put your mind to. You love chocolate flavoured things but hate chocolate and you like strawberries, but you hate strawberry flavoured things. You think chocolate milk is magic and always have some in the fridge, but you make sure to get banana milk too because you know it’s my favourite. You’re shy but whenever you go out with Tae-hyung, Jimin hyung, and I to a new place, you’re always the one to break the ice and make us all feel comfortable. You call your mom every day which I think is the cutest thing ever and you always text in your family group chat to keep everyone updated. There are so many things about you that I like, and I could go on forever, but I also know that you don’t know how to respond to compliments, feeling awkward about them so you try to change the topic or deflect it. I don’t know how else to say it but Kim Seokjin hyung, I think I might be falling in love with you.”

He’s too scared to look up, scared of what he’ll see on Seokjin’s face. It wasn’t until he heard Seokjin whisper his name that he looked up and was met with a pair of soft, slightly cold lips on his own.

Soft. Sweet. Perfect. Amazing. Passionate.

The kiss was everything he dreamed of and more. When he got over the initial shock of the feeling of Seokjin’s plump lips on his own, he melted into the kiss, returning it with just as much passion as Seokjin had, hoping that Seokjin could feel how he meant every single word just spoken.

Seokjin pulls away first, Jungkook’s lips chasing his, not wanting their kiss to end. He giggles and gives Jungkook another soft peck before pulling away completely to look at Jungkook in the eyes, both their ice creams forgotten, with Seokjin’s having fallen on the ground when he moved to kiss Jungkook.

“Jungkookie. I think I’m falling in love with you too.”

Jungkook thinks he’s going to burst with joy. Hearing that the person he’s been crushing on all this time thinks they’re falling in love with him too, that’s the best feeling he thinks he’s ever felt. He reaches over to kiss Seokjin once again, already falling in love with the taste of his lips and how perfect they feel on his.

They stay like that for a bit, just on a park bench wrapped up in each other’s presence, lips attached, feeling like they were the only ones in the world and nothing else mattered. However, they soon broke apart once again when Jungkook felt Seokjin shiver slightly from the rapidly dropping temperature. Holding hands, they walk back to Jungkook’s car to go back to their apartment, making a quick pit stop at a convenience store to grab some of their favourite snacks so they could eat it when they go home to watch Shrek.

The end.

Jimin jumps off the chair as soon as he heard Jungkook say the words ‘the end’.

“Jungkook! You can’t just end it like that! The ending was so rushed. You’re supposed to go into more detail.”

“Yeah! What was that ending? You described the entire date in detail and just rushed the ending after you told Jin hyung your feelings. Where are the steamy details, but not too steamy because we don’t need to know everything, but you know what I mean. Where is Jin hyungs long confession? Why did you guys randomly decide to watch Shrek? Did you guys even watch Shrek?” Hoseok accuses.

“Woah guys. I ended it like that because what happened after I confessed is really just for Seokjin hyung and I to know. I gave you guys a sweet, shortened, pg-14 version of what happened after my confession. Did you want me to give you all the details like what positions hyung had me in when we were having sex, and how many times we came, and -”

“I lied. I’m completely happy with the ending. Great story hyung and Jungkookie. Yup.” Hoseok is quick to interrupt with blushing cheeks.

“I’m not happy with the ending! I do want all the details Kook, the fuck? I tell you all the details about Tae and I!”

“And I tell you about Jimin and I all the time too Jungkook! Where are the details? Don’t leave us hanging.”

“Tae-hyung! You literally said an hour or so ago that you didn’t want to hear about my sex life with hyung because he’s your brother. And Jimin-hyung, I never ask to hear about you and Tae-hyung! You just tell me and I’m forced to listen.”

Namjoon stands up, “Tonight has been nice everyone. Congratulations Kook and hyung once again but now that the story is over, I don’t want to hear any more about either one of my brother’s sex lives so I’m going to head out before I’m further traumatized. Goodbye.”

Also standing up, are Yoongi and Hoseok. “Yeah. We’re going to head out too. Thanks for finally telling us how you two got together hyung, It’s definitely something that only you and Kook would think of. It actually makes so much sense that you two got together after an opposite date and not an actual date.”

“Congrats hyung and Kook. I’m glad that Yoongi hyung and I are now a part of your lives and hope to make many more crazy memories with you guys in the future.”

Saying their last goodbyes, they both walk out towards the front door. But before, they can leave the house, Taehyung and Jungkook shout, “Be safe! Practice safe sex! Use condoms! And enjoy.”

The four of them laugh out loud when they can hear someone knock something over and rush out of the house, slamming the door.

“Thanks for putting this together Jiminie and Tae. It was really fun to talk to everyone again and just relax. We probably wouldn’t have been able to do anything like this until right before the wedding if we were to plan it ourselves. So really, thank you.”

“Of course, hyung. We’re glad to help in any way we can. You’re literally Tae’s family and hopefully one day I can be a part of it too as his husband. And Jungkook is our best friend, we’d do anything for the annoying fucker.”

“I’m not annoying.” Jungkook mumbles.

Seokjin can tell that Jungkook is getting sleepy after a long day, so he excuses themselves as well. “Hey guys? Kook is getting sleepy so we’re going to go home now. Thanks again for this.”

Picking Jungkook up in his arms, he walks out to place him in the passenger seat of the car, before going back into the house to grab their presents and belongings with Jimin and Taehyung’s help.

They’re almost home when Jungkook murmurs ‘Jin hyung, I love you’ in his sleep before going quiet again.

Smiling at Jungkook briefly before looking back onto the road, he says in the quiet car, “I love you too Jungkook. That opposite date was the best date ever because it brought me you, the most important person in my life.”

My writing isn't the best but I hope you all enjoyed reading this. I enjoyed writing it.
