Chapter Text
Midoriya Izuku was old (so very old), and with old age came death. It was a familiar feeling to izuku, as someone who had been alive for years, decades, no centuries. he was well aware when he stopped fearing for the end of his current life. He knew that if he died, he would be fine in the end seeing as he never truly would leave anything behind.
His fortune the — oh so large fortune that just kept increasing with each life — he has would be passed down to himself, not the same him, but still himself. You see, Midoriya Izuku could tell who he would be in his next life, knew who he would be in the one after that, and the one that followed that. So, it wasn't hard to sign off his fortune to an unborn life, his connection to the government certainely helped with that; or maybe it was the immunity he gained by living all those long, unamusing years.
Or perhaps it was the friends he had in high places. The friends that would be around for a couple of his lives at a time, seeing how he would always die so soon into each life. (akatani mikumo, age 26, quirk: agility, died in a deadly car crash; 13 others were injured alongside him, not everyone survived.) He never did last very long with the self sacrificial tendencies he seemed to carry on into his next lives. (kai danjuro, age 18, quirk: boosted intelligence, died saving a married couple and their kids from a rampaging villain, they all survived.) He had a hero complex, what could he say? (watanabe shin, age 22, quirk: balance, died from smoke intake; saved 15 others from a burning building, only 1 other died.) Even though he knew the feeling of death, he didn't want others to know that same feeling, because no one else got a second chance; not like he so selfishly did. (nakamura ito, age 11, quirk: flashlight, died from stab wounds, saved a group of kids from getting abducted; they all survived.)
Was he a bit selfish? Sure he was considering he didn't value his lives as much as he should have. He always knew if he wasn't happy he could try again, and who's to say he was ever truly happy due to the immense isolation he was forced to deal with? The loneliness because of the heavy restrictions each life had, despite him having a right to his own existence. Although it never seemed to stop, he feared that if he got close to someone again, then it would hurt harder when he had to leave. It almost seemed as though the lives he was born into weren't the right one, was he supposed to wait until he had the one that was suited for him? it had been about 100 years since he last had one, and even then he didn't really see the appeal to that life. It was to be anticipated when he — Abe Kiyoshi found out that he had a brother, it was even more expected when he realised it was not just Abe Kiyoshi that had a brother; it was he himself. (abe kioshi, age 24, quirk: push & pull, died from head injury and spinal damage; protected a classroom full of kids from a villain attack; they all survived.)
His brother, the reason he had been in this long, agonizing mess in the first place, was the very same individual that he has spent most of his lives trying to kill. A man who terrorized citizens, ran the underground world, murdered heroes just for spite; what was he trying to prove by killing the heros who protected against evil? His brother, the most dangerous villain japan has ever had in centuries, who unfortunately knew of his existence. How he knew? That was unknown, however it must be related to the ungodly amount of contacts he has on both sides. His brother, All For One, was very well aware that Midoriya Izuku was his new name, and that he — now Midoriya Izuku would try once again to do the impossible and kill him. Although it seemed as though he didn't care, he was far too involved with trying to ruin the life of Yagi Toshinori, currently known as the Number One Hero All Might. (hikaru tanaka, age 28, quirk: digital manipulation, died from hypothermia; saved a little girl from drowning in the winter time, she survived.)
Yagi Toshinori, a hero who is seen as the Symbol of Peace, or as an undefeatable presence. He however is someone who has experienced many tragedies, some of them Izuku himself was too slow to prevent; guilt is heavy when it comes to that man, that man who was (no he still is) forced to live with the consequences that came from Izukus' many mistakes. All Might was the hero who took down his brother, who took down All For One, who took down the biggest enemy the country has had for the longest time. He is a hero, always had been since he begun his endeaver to save everyone with a smile on his face. He was Midoriya Izukus' hero more than anything though, because he did what Izuku failed to do during the entirety of his life spans. He took down the man who was once only a rumor on the streets, an old, immortal beast who never went away; until All Might came with that bright smile of his, and unintentionally saved Midoriya Izuku from the nightmare that was thought to be never ending. (sugawara renjiro, age 19, quirk: hair growth, died from multiple wounds; saved an old married couple from a robbery, they were uninjured.)
Midoriya Izuku owed All Might everything, because for once he was able to start living a normal life. He was allowed to be a kid again, grow up with a nice family, make new friends who didn't just want to use him for his unnatural abilities, and maybe down the line he could finally meet someone who could love him for himself, someone who could help him start a family. A family that he always craved, a family that he could never have before because deep down he was afraid. He was afraid that they would all be taken away from him and that it would be his fault — just like it was last time.
