“Welcome Mayri Neckoma. She will be joining class 2-A. You can take seat number 7”

The only response was the hard glares of the different students in the class, each one having a different feeling behind them. Slowly the tired, dark teacher settled into his desk, starting to take out what she assumed was the work for today however her attention was now on the class who seemed to be displeased with her presence. Some seeming more displeased than others by her arrival seeing that one with the spiky blond hair is already staring her down. Slowly Mayri slipped past the desk of her new classmates…Or should she call them enemy’s? It seemed no one was happy in this class, except a few who even then didn’t spare her a glance.

“Take out your notes. Today we’re going over Quirk laws”
~~~~~~~~~
“H-Hey! Your name was Mayri right? I’m Izuku Midoryia” A broccoli haired boy came bouncing her way, seeming to be the only one who has even tried to greet her so far. At first glance she could see why. Curly hair freckles and a notebook in hand was all she needed to see to classify him as a nerd or the underdog of the pack. However that was just first glance with no information.
“Midoryia? Ah yes I remember you. The sports festival was quite large yano.” She hummed, recalling the fight between the green haired boy in front of her and the bi colored hair that she saw exit class a while ago.
“Oh thank you. I still can’t believe I’m known for that. Anyway it’s nice to have you in our class now. Would you like to eat lunch with my friends? I’m sure they won’t mind. We can even show you around afterwards.” He offered. The vibe she was getting from him was a huge difference from the vibe she felt from the class. A positive, energetic energy surrounded him unlike the aggressive, feral feeling she got from some people.
“That would be helpful. Thank you” she accepted his offer, watching as his eyes seem to lighten up at the decision.
“Great! I bet the others will like you. Oh! Could I ask what your quirk is? I would like to take notes to if you don’t mind…” He mumbles, taking out a notebook that looks to be damaged in burns. Inspecting it closer, it seems to be a few years old, however still in tack seeing he opened it with ease. There were pages filled with information with different heroes and their descriptions, catching some names like EraserHead and PopLock.
It honestly took her by surprise how many pages he flipped to before finally smoothing out a blank page, ready to be written on. It was when he stopped in the hall with a pen in hand the sign came to start describing her quirk.
“…It’s called Paranoia. I have the ability to send someone into panic by sending them illusions. However the side effect is that I can see things myself like strong energy’s or forms.”
Midoryia blinked, taking in the information before a soft smile crawls onto his face “Whoa so you can make a false sight like playing a mind trick? That reminds me of a few other peoples. Do they have to talk to activate it? What are the backlashes of the quirk? How long does the illusions last? When it has the side effects does it affect you just like-“
“Deku...You’re ranting again”
Both Midoryia and Mayri popped up at the sound of a new voice. With the appearance of a short brown haired girl, Izuku beamed
“Hey! Uraraku S-sorry I still need to work on that but you’re just in time. I wanted to take Mayri around to get used to the dorms. Wanna join?”
‘This girl seemed familiar…’ Mayri thought, studying the girl more. However before she could recall the girl another voice yet again interrupts.
“Friends please do not crowd the new student! Miss I am very sorry for the classes behavior, please allow us to introduce myself. I am Tenya Iida, class president”
“Tenya Iida. Ah yes I remember you as well”
“As well? Do you remember us from somewhere?
Mayri could only smile “I have done my research on this school before I joined. The sports festival last year, I saw some of you”
At her answer the two perked up “Really?!”
Mayri nodded, giving them a bright smile
“Yes! I was impressed with how everyone fought. I wanted to fight like that two even if I don’t have flashy, cool quirks like you guys”
As that sentence came out her mouth Izuku frowned, clearly not agreeing to that statement. However before he could open his mouth to reply the same spiky blond boy she saw staring her down in class shoved him forward, making him stumble.
“Bakugou! Please do not bully Midoryia” Iida states, doing this strange movement with his arms but his words didn’t seem to bother him, staring her down once more. This boy had such a dangerous vibe to her that she flinches back when they made eye contact. No words are spoken between the few seconds that they shared staring at one another. The air was now tense with tension unlike when she was first there. Finally the tension was broken by another boy running up and grabbing the blond’s shoulders
“Bakugou! I’m so sorry about him. Please excuse us” He lets a shaky grin out before dragging the blond away from their little group, bringing the tension along with them.
When they are out of sight, the group lets out a collective sigh, Izuku seeming to being the most relieved that Bakugou is gone.
“Man who is that guy…He’s so rude, shoving you for no reason like that. What’s his problem...Ima go beat him up” She growled under her breath, not wanting the others to hear however they do, seeing that Iida starts a speech about how violence does not solve anything.
With a sigh Midoryia gives her the same kind, welcoming smile
“I can’t speak up for Kacchan’s actions and temper but…He was never like this oh well…This violent towards others. Um…A few people from our class have been affected deeply by something that we as a class don’t talk about anymore. However please know that it’s not your fault and they will come around.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was the middle of the sixth class of the day, English II with Present Mic when the door was pushed open. A beat up looking boy slid in, shutting the door behind him without a word. Once again for the third time that day a tense air overcame the class as the teacher made eye contact with the purple haired teen.

“Hitoshi, your late…again…Shinsou did you get into another fight?”

Shinsou only stared at the loud blond before heading over to the one other empty seat in class, not seeming to mind the eyes that followed him. Bruises and cuts littered the pale skin of the teens face and dried blood stained his clothes and his knuckles however it didn’t seem to bother him. Sliding into his seat he mumbled out the words

“Yeah”
The air was broken by the mutters of their classmates, whispering different things like

“Baka”

“Poor guy, it must be hard for him”

“Oh Shinsou”

“I bet it was about ’him’ again”

Mayri frowned, watching as the class seemed to get more and tenser and agitated as the chatter grew. It was when Present Mic yelled a loud

“HHHEEEYYYYYY”

That the silence returned.

“Thank you listeners, let’s continue class ya dig?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finally the first day ended for Mayri and all the students headed for their dorms, her following after the ‘Deku squad’. She had learned that class 2-A had two main groups that everyone was divided into.
The Deku squad that composed of Midoryia, Iida, Uraraku, Tsu and Todoroki was the good kid group, the people that are not getting Aizawa’s last nerve and were doing their work. When Midoryia had introduced the rest of the group to her, she was concerned about the hostile energy she might get only to be proven wrong when she was met by name introductions and friendly greetings. This group was massively different from the other group.
The Baku squad who composed of Bakugou, Kirishima, Mina and Sero was the opposite of deku’s group, aggressive, unwelcoming and depressing. If she had to guess this group was the troublemakers who didn’t do their work and probably has a streak of detention. However she would take Midoryia’s word and hope it was just a phase that would blow over soon.
Mayri had met a few of the member’s during the span of the day. Mina, who has come up during lunch to welcome her, was the first from that group then was followed by a boy named Sero or also known as ‘Soy sauce’ she had heard Bakugou shout. Both seemed pretty nice however she can tell there was a sour feeling underneath they didn’t want to share.
Even if she was new to the school and to the class, she can definitely tell something was up. It was like hushed secret everyone knew but dared not to tell. However if someone looked close enough, they could spot the clues to the bigger mystery. During each passing period she would see different Baku squad members glance towards her and stare until the teacher came in which broke them out there gaze. Mayri didn’t think it was to stare at her but at where she was sitting. Kirishima, the one who had pulled Bakugou away, would tap her shoulder like he wanted her to turn around only when she does would find him looking in surprised misery before apologizing.
Finally if that wasn’t enough, the purple haired teen named Shinsou had started to stare her down. Not the same aggressive daggers she would feel from Bakugou but the look of depression. Since the tardy incident, Hitoshi has also been giving her some attention but nothing like Midoryia. Both of them haven’t even spoken a word and yet she had seen him standing in front of her dorm room. When she confronted him about it, his only words was
“If you see anything in there…Don’t touch it. Just tell me and I’ll come pick it up”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The second day of hero training and the Baku squad has not gotten any better. Bakugou was still staring her down, Kirishima had once again mistaken her for someone else and Mina knocked on her door asking the same thing that Shinsou demanded her to do. The more she saw the squad, the more she wondered just what this mystery that they were keeping from her was. One time she was tempted to ask Midoryia but when she started to he quickly shot her down, saying it was a sore spot in the class.

‘What a wonderful start’ she thought sourly before she balances herself, staring at her opponent who was currently the bird man, Tokoyami. They had pairs today and everyone was working in different levels of the gym. Currently both of them had the lower levels while the hot head and Midoryia were above her. By what she saw the darker male had a dark copy of a shadow that could do physical attacks and could work as shield against attacks. If she could focus on him without an interruption they could end this fight quickly. However before she could even start a loud crash echoed throughout the gym, making it shake.

‘The hell was that?!’ She cursed, stumbling from the impact before glancing up to see the damage only have her heart stop. A huge chunk of cement had broken off from the fight between Midoryia and Bakugou and started to fall down to their level. Tokoyami had quickly maneuvered out the way, seeming to be used to this but she couldn’t move. Mayri only stood like a deer in headlights as this huge rock came barreling towards her.

“H-EY LOOK OUT”

Everything blurs as her head hits the floor, the surrounding sound blurring into a ringing once the world finally goes dark
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was a dim room, one light above her like in one of those badass spy movies were the two main characters are about to speak to the person in question however she was the suspect being questioned seeing she was tied down to a chair. There was little to no room to struggle seeing it was chains that were keeping her down.
Even knowing that this wasn’t real she felt panic flooding her veins, heart racing inside her chest and body quivering ever so slightly. This wasn’t the gym she was just in but it felt so familiar, so close to home, like she knew this place by heart. Suddenly a hand gripped her face from the darkness, an unstable cackle following after. A pale looking man stepped out the shadows, still keeping his hand on her face with his pinky out. The light blue hair that covered the males face was slowly brushed to the side to reveal bloodshot eyes.
“You have made me VERY angry Kaminari~”
‘Kaminari?’
~
“Mayri! Mayri can you hear me?”
The low voice she remembered from her homeroom teacher rang into her ears, replacing the unstable laughter she had just heard. The room she was just in had faded to the back of her mind and the chains she once felt have lifted from her wrists. Slowly she felt her strength return just enough for her to crack her eyes open. The blinding light of the gym beamed into her view and she could make out four silhouettes hovering over her form.
“Mayri can you move? Mayri”
Finally everything seemed to settle. ‘Where was that room she was just in? Who was that guy? Kaminari?’ the questions flooded her head the more she pieced it together from this strange vision. Was it from her power? However that can wait, the faces were coming into view.
Mr. Aizawa, Iida, Midoryia and Tokoyami were the four silhouettes that had hovered over her once unconscious body. Iida and Midoryia had a look of concern and worry as they stared down at her while Mr. Aizawa and Tokoyami stared with a mutual expression to cover their expressions.
“Ugh…Ya I’m fine. Just a huge headache” She mumbled before drawing her strength to sit up. It seemed someone had pushed her out the way of the huge bolder due to the fact that they were a few feet away from we’re she was training.
“Good. I think its best if you sit out for today to make sure it’s not permanent and Bakugou! Please be mindful where you’re attacking. This could have easily been a civilian you could have killed”
Looking to we’re Aizawa-sensei was yelling, her eyes landed on Bakugou, who stood at the same level he was when the bolder fell. Even with him being at fault, he still looked as pissed off as ever. In fact he didn’t look sorry at all, a trace of a sick smirk crossing his face before it faded into its normal scowl.
“Whatever baka!” With that he stomps off further into the gym, out of sight.
Midoryia had helped her up once everyone had backed off once they knew she was ok. He gave her an apologetic smile before dashing after Bakugou in the gym.
‘So much for training’
With a low growl Mayri headed for the benches that were located at the sides of the gym and took a seat. Her head was still spinning from the impact of fall but she hoped it wouldn’t be that bad to stop her training, she was already behind in her quirk training compared to the many others who were in the class.
“He’s still as chaotic as ever… “
She blinked, ‘who the hell?’
The bench shifted, like someone had just settled onto the other side of the bench. Quickly she snapped her head towards the direction of the voice only to see nothing. Great, the second day and she had a concussion.
“And it looks like Shinsou is getting better. God he’s gonna be a great hero…All of them are”
This time when she looked back towards the other side of the bench there sat a pale boy with bright blond hair. The boy wore a black jacket that had a white streak of electricity. Under the jacket was a normal white shirt with black pants to match the jacket. Mayri had never seen this student before, maybe another student from class 2-B? Studying the boy closer it seemed a part of his hair was dyed due to the black lighting streak that covered the right side. Angry red electric marks ran up his face from his neck to his eyes which were glazed over it a pale white.
The boy, who didn’t seem to notice her stare, stood from the bench stretching out his arms and cracking his knuckles as blinding bright smile grew on his face.
“Well at least today is Pizza Friday! Maybe Kiri can finally convince the squad to go out to the arcade! God it’s been a while. I would love to see Sero beat Bakugou at Pac-Man for the thousandth time” He seemed to mutter to himself.
She blinked, still studying the boy. She had to admit how attractive the lighting blond looked, kinda like eye candy.
Finally it seemed like he noticed her gaze and smiled, turning around and giving a thumbs up
“Hey! Congrats on making it into class 2-A! It’s not easy to get in, trust me” he beamed
Mayri smiled at the warm greeting. ‘Finally someone who didn’t want to kill her’
“Thank you! I want to be the best hero I can be!” She responded with a smile growing.
The boy then paused, blinking a few times and staring at her with a shocked expression. He even took the time to look behind him as if to see someone there. However when he didn’t their eyes meet again, a crazed look in his eyes. The grin that grew on his face had turned into a frown before he leaned forward like he was examining her.
The smile that had rested on her face now faded into an uncomfortable frown
“U-m…”
“Are you talking to me?”
The confidence she had talking to him immediately disappeared seeing the crazy look he was giving her. However he didn’t move, seeming to be waiting for her answer to his question. Slowly she nodded, hoping that was enough to satisfy him. Before she knew it he had leaped forward, gripping her shoulders and shaking her making her yelp in surprise, not expecting the movement.
“H-ey?! Stop! What are you doing?!” The movement stopped as he leaned forward barely avoiding bumping heads
“YOU C-AN HEAR ME?!”
