Kim Soohyun is a goofball. That is a known fact in the entertainment industry.
While other young and handsome actors are famous for being sweet and considerate to their acting partners, he is famous for being a jokester. That is how he got Suzy and Jieun, nation’s little sisters, as his little sisters. Of course, he did not dare to joke around that much when he was working with great senior like Han Gain, Jun Jihyun or Gong Hyojin, but the noonas love him anyway.
But this. He hasn’t quite understood how to act around Yeji.
He met her through a commercial 6 years ago. When he was climbing the stardom and she was just starting her career.
He remembers being awed by her voice, so much that he started watching her works from then on.
When his cousin scouted him to his newly opened agency, he had recommended her. Coincidentally, as if it were planned by heaven, her contract with her previous agency came to an end.
So she joined his cousin’s agency and they’ve met a few times in the office. Awkwardly bumped into each other when they have meetings or when they have classes for the rookies in their agency.
He called her Actress Seo Yeji at those times, for professional reasons, and because they haven’t had a talk to sort out names for each other.
But he thought they have gotten close now that they have filmed many scenes together for a couple of weeks, reaching for the 4th episode of their drama.
He thought they have come to a friendly term, using banmal to each other, especially after that tvN-terview.
Darn that interview. He made a fool of himself throughout the interview.
Why would he let a dolphin shriek like a high school girl when she said Kangtae is her heart?
Why would he put an emphasize on the words every here and there, and showed his happy stupid smile?
And why on earth he showed a 0.5 second of disappointment when she answered that Sangtae and Juri are also mood-makers on set, not just only him?
He didn’t even know whether if it was himself or Kangtae when he said that Kangtae is already falling for Munyeong.
He was sincerely taken aback when she said that the good and bad points of acting with him were that her eyes are happy because he is too beautiful. Like his heart dropped dead for seconds from tachycardia.
And when he thought that he finally handled the interview professionally, Yeji attacked him by complimenting his jaw, shoulder, fingers, and legs. How could he possibly survive the interview without having a smitten smile plastered on his face? Really? How?
But thanks to that interview he managed to confirm that Yeji thinks that they are indeed close.
But now, why on earth she started talking to him formally again? Even after she candidly poke his nose out of ad lib when they filmed the convenience store scene? After she made his heart goes to another series of tachycardia from her gesture?
He stares blankly at Yeji in front of him, covered in fluffy blanket, drinking coffee from her tumbler, eyes fixed to the script in her hand. He called her out to a lame excuse to practice their dialogue before filming for the next scenes.
“You were teasing me, weren’t you?” he blurts out.
She looks at him curiously. “What?”
“I mean… why are you talking formally again to me”
“I did? When?” she asks.
“Just now, when we were discussing on how to act out Munyeong touching Kangtae’s hair” he points out.
“Ah, that” she says as she come to realization, “but that’s because you started putting ‘~yo’ in the end of your sentences. I thought it was intentional because there’s a BTS camera around, so I just play along”
Soohyun blinks his eyes, trying to recollect his memory. Did he started it first? He did.
He smiles bashfully at the realization. Why won’t he stop acting silly in front of her?
Yeji laughs amusedly at Soohyun. “Gosh, oppa, you’re so cute” she says.
“I am… cute?”
“Yes. Won’t you look at yourself in the mirror?”
Soohyun grins at her answer, so she thinks he’s cute.
Looking back, Suzy and Jieun never throw jokes like this to him, so it’s clear that she doesn’t categorize herself as a little sister to him.
And besides, now that he stares at her again, Yeji is too pretty to just become a little sister.
