Work Text:
Jyuto frowned as he looked out his window, the light cream curtains softening the midday rays that cast themselves across his bed. He brought the heel of his hand to his eye as he swung his legs over the edge. Hanging his head down he looked at the floor, a set of black rabbit slippers reminding him of the man he normally shared a bed with. With a sigh, he put his feet in the slippers and got out of bed.
It didn’t take long for Jyuto to put on some home clothes, loose jeans and a button-up. Blearily Jyuto trudged down the stairs, the plastic soles of his slippers softly sliding against the wooden floors. Pulling a can of coffee out from the fridge Jyuto sat down. Though there was traffic and passers-by milling about outside his window, it was quiet and calm in his kitchen. He listened to the sounds of the city as he sipped at his drink, relishing the smooth bitterness. It was calm.
But as usual, it would never last.
As Jyuto set his can of coffee down a set of cold hands covered his eyes. Jyuto sighed when he felt a chest press against his back.
“Aww, why do you sound so disappointed?”
“Hello Sasara, I hadn’t realised you were home.”
Sasara’s hands fell from Jyuto’s eyes, settling on his shoulders, fingers creeping into the spaces between the buttons of his shirt. A pair of soft lips planted themselves against the crook of his neck. Jyuto inhaled sharply as he felt a soft scrape of teeth against his neck, Sasara’s lips quirking into a small smirk as well as he could through its current activities.
“I thought I’d surprise you,” Sasara hooked a foot around one of the legs of Jyuto’s chair, untucking it with an unpleasant squealing noise.
Jyuto paid it no mind as Sasara was quick to come around the chair, grinning devilishly down at Jyuto, a tie in hand. With a thick gulp, Jyuto let Sasara take his glasses off and wrap the tie around his eyes. Sasara took a seat on Jyuto’s lap, taking a few unnecessary moments to adjust his position before he firmly secured the tie around Jyuto’s head.
“Hands behind your back.”
Jyuto felt his heart jump. Sasara’s words no longer held the round flirtatiousness they usually did, and without thinking, he tried to move his hands behind his back.
But he was met with the wooden sides of the chair.
Sasara’s laugh cut through Jyuto like a warm knife through butter.
“Aren’t you an eager beaver, or well, a bunny.”
Sasara got off Jyuto’s lap and Jyuto slid forward enough to let Sasara tie his hands up behind his back.
“Get up.”
The cold edge to Sasara’s voice was back, and Jyuto obeyed. Goosebumps raced down his skin as he felt Sasara’s fingers intertwine with the loose loops Sasara had created with what felt like another tie. Sasara tightened his grip on the bonds and placed a hand on Jyuto’s lower back, guiding him through their home.
The warm haze and thick feeling that had settled low in Jyuto’s stomach was soon leached away as Sasara guided him through a door, stopping to lock it before pushing Jyuto down and into the seat of a car. Jyuto felt Sasara’s hands graze his stomach before he heard a seatbelt click and then rest back against his chest.
“Why are we in the car,” Jyuto kept his voice steady though he could feel his heart rate rising for a completely different reason.
The engine turned on and Jyuto heard Sasara buckle up his own seatbelt.
“Well, I needed to get this show on the road somehow.”
~*~
Sasara was quiet through the whole ride. It was eerie. But Jyuto trusted him.
“Ok, we’re here,” Sasara unbuckled his own seatbelt before leaning over and unbuckling Jyuto’s.
Jyuto cleared his throat as he heard Sasara open his door.
“Hmm?”
“Sasara, are you forgetting that you’ve tied my hands up?”
“Oh yeah, you are in a little bit of a bind aren’t you?”
Jyuto sighed again.
It didn’t take long before Sasara had untied Jyuto’s hands, helping him up and out of the car.
“I just need a little more co-hop-eration and then you can take your blindfold off, promise,” Sasara gave Jyuto a peck on the cheek before locking the car and slowly guiding him forward. Jyuto felt Sasara lean up against his back, then he heard a door open, a tiny bell ringing above him.
“Welcome!”
Sasara pushed Jyuto in, the door swinging shut behind them, and reached up to untie the tie. As the fabric fell from Jyuto’s face he looked around with a deep furrow in his brows.
“Well?”
“I can’t see anything.”
“Shit, uh,” Sasara patted down his pockets, pausing for a moment when he realised there was nothing in them. “Uh, Jyuto, you keep a spare pair in the car don’t you?”
Jyuto closed his eyes and sighed, turning a disappointed look to the blur of green beside him.
“Yes, I do.”
“Cool, I’ll be right back,” Sasara clapped before leaving Jyuto standing in the entrance.
Jyuto stood awkwardly, hands down at his side, as he glanced around the room. Nothing in focus.
“Ok, here we go,” Sasara came back in, presenting a pair of glasses to Jyuto. Jyuto accepted them and gasped quietly when he realised where he was.
A few waiters bustled about, others stooped low to pet small loaves of fluff on the floor. There were some other customers sitting around, but they were all preoccupied.
“It’s a bunny cafe,” Sasara whispered, grinning beside Jyuto’s ear.
“I am well aware of where we are,” Jyuto frowned, crossing his arms.
“Aww, don’t be a tsundere,” Sasara walked out in front of Jyuto. “Come on, we have a table reserved,” Sasara gently took one of Jyuto’s hands, Jyuto allowing Sasara to escort him to their table.
“Hello sirs, what can I get for you today?” As soon as they sat they were approached by a waiter, beaming down at them with a pad of paper in their hands.
“Ah, you remember what I wrote down?”
“Hmm,” The waiter looked down at the pad of paper, “Oh yeah.” Sticking their pencil into their mouth they flipped through the notepad and stopped on the last page. “It’ll be ready shortly.”
Jyuto turned to Sasara, confused,
“What do you mean remember what I wrote down?”
“Don’t worry, don’t worry, just go play with the rabbits. Look, this one is named Dai,” Sasara waved Jyuto off, turning his attention to the seal point mini lop laying by one of the legs at their table.
Jyuto stared at Sasara for a moment longer, Sasara adamant about playing with Dai, then sighed. He wanted answers, but the soft fur was calling him. Slipping out of his seat, Jyuto fell to his knees and reached out to Dai. Dai looked over at Jyuto’s extended fingers, ignoring the scritches he was getting from Sasara, and sniffed him. Dai crawled forward a little, bumping his nose against Jyuto’s fingers. Jyuto pressed his lips together, holding himself back as Dai nuzzled his hand.
Sasara sat back, watching as Jyuto softly played with the rabbits. Excited smile suppressed. Jyuto looked so soft. Rumpled home clothes, hair still in a disarray from having just woken up, the large round frames of his spare glasses making his face look soft. A stark contrast to the cool crispness of his work personality. This was Sasara’s favourite Jyuto.
The one only he got to see every day.
“I have your food.”
Jyuto jolted when he heard the waiter, a few rabbits scampering away as he hit his head against the underside of the table.
The waiter brought a hand to their face, holding back a laugh,
"Sorry for startling you."
Jyuto’s face was red, pushing his glasses up he tried to feign a cool facade.
“I didn’t know there were any pink bunnies.”
Jyuto turned to shoot a glare at Sasara, taking a seat beside him. Sasara just grinned in return, slipping his hand into Jyuto’s. Jyuto’s heart skipped a beat, but he clasped Sasara’s hand back.
“If you need anything else don’t hesitate to ask.”
They were alone again, just a dwarf angora left nosing at Jyuto’s feet.
Jyuto looked down at the plate that was set on their table. It was rabbit shaped, with lopsided features glazed onto it. Atop was a white cake, piled with fresh fruit and drizzled in honey, a piece of dark chocolate resting against the side with white chocolate writing scrawled across it.
‘For my heaven’
“Don’t you think angels ought to be in heaven?”
Jyuto’s heart skipped a beat, but he was torn between the fuzzy feeling of love, and the intense disappointment that ran through him as he realised the cake was an angel food cake. So instead, he closed his eyes and composed himself with a sigh, before turning to Sasara.
“Then shouldn’t you eat it then?”
“Ah,” Sasara’s mouth fell open, brain short circuiting. Jyuto’s smug smile as he let go of Sasara's hand to pick up one of the cups on their table didn’t help one bit. “Hey, this isn’t fair, I’m the one who’s supposed to be flirting.”
“Oh? Then don’t let my antics stop you, I’m merely trying to play along,” Jyuto shrugged as he set his cup down.
Sasara didn’t have any retort. He just sat in silence and watched as Jyuto broke a piece of the cake off before eating it. Jyuto looked content.
“I love you.”
Jyuto startled upon hearing Sasara, his head whipping around to look at Sasara. The man looked back at him seriously.
Jyuto fumbled with his fork as he set it down.
“I, I love you too,” Jyuto whispered as he leaned his side in closer against Sasara.
Sasara grinned as Jyuto’s thigh pressed against his own, and brought his hand up to slip in Jyuto’s. Jyuto cleared his throat and crossed his legs, leaning his knees against Sasara’s. With a deep sigh Sasara melted into Jyuto’s side, unable to keep the soft smile off his face. The two of them watched the rabbits in the cafe. Soft fluffy fur and cute little tails. But it was just background noise. The only thing the two paid real attention to was each other.
The warm thigh against theirs.
The familiar hand in theirs.
Sasara rubbed a thumb over Jyuto’s hand, Jyuto shifting a bit to rest his head atop Sasara’s.
And in this moment, nothing else mattered.
