Kangtae unbuckle his seatbelt and lean towards Munyeong to give her a peck. It was Munyeong’s turn to drop him at university. They have been taking turns to drive each other to work or to class. If Kangtae have morning class, Munyeong will drive so he can revise before class. Conversely, if Munyeong have early hour meeting or appointments, Kangtae will drive so she can sleep more.
“Don’t wait up for me. I’ll go home by taxi” he says.
Munyeong raises her eyebrow, “Why?”.
“I have team project meeting, it might end late. Don’t fight with hyung!”
Kangtae pat her hair as he smiles. She has meeting today with Sangtae for her upcoming book, hence the start of bickering series from the two siblings.
Munyeong pouts, “But I hate to be alone in the house”.
Kangtae chuckles, “Play with hyung, then. Bye, I’m going to class” he says as he gets out of the car.
She stares at his back as he enters the university building, sighing. Munyeong is not in the mood to play with Sangtae, not when she already has to spend the day working on the book with her Oppa.
Munyeong shrugs as she starts the engine, she will have to invite herself to whatever meeting he has later, then.
Kangtae almost drop his jaw when he saw Munyeong entering the café where he was working his team project. She was smiling playfully when she met his eyes.
“How...? What are you doing here?” he asks dumbfoundedly as she sat in the seat next to him.
“I told you I don’t want to be alone in the house”
“But how did you know I’m here?”
“Oh, Kidung-ssi told me you’re having your team project here” she answers. Munyeong turn to Kidung and smiles, “Thanks, Kidung-ssi!”
Kidung is Kangtae’s classmate, they got close because both are older than the other freshmen. Kidung failed his university admission exam thrice. He is a fan of Munyeong, apparently. He had felt betrayed when he found out that his idol is married to his new friend but immediately ship the couple when he accidentally met them on their date. He turned his loyalty towards Munyeong to that of an informant, keeping her updated if Kangtae is out of reach or if there are ants approaching her sweet sugar.
“My pleasure, noona!” Kidung grins.
Kangtae twitched at ‘noona’. He never likes it when there are other guy calling Munyeong with nicknames. He should be the one calling her nicknames, but by far, they only called each other with full names. And it’s not like he could ask her to call him ‘Oppa’, they are of the same age anyway.
Munyeong put her hand on top of Kangtae and smiles to his teammates. It’s a good thing she decides to show up, she thought. More than half of his teammates are girls, and of course Kangtae is the most good-looking person in the team. She needs to keep her sugar closed under her jar.
“Please don’t be bothered with my presence, I will be just sitting here working my own stuff while waiting for my husband” she says, squeezing Kangtae’s hands at the word husband.
Munyeong took out her notebook and began scribbling on her notes, developing and revising ideas based on today’s meeting with Sangtae and Sangin.
Kangtae glances at her and sigh. Munyeong and her dresses. It’s not that he wants her to change her style for him, he doesn’t have a say on it anyway, it’s Munyeong’s freedom. But he hates the attention that follows it, he doesn’t trust the hyenas looking at his lioness with desire.
She’s wearing one of her short dresses today, and the way she crossed her legs making the dress shows more than what it supposed to.
Kangtae took off his jacket and tied it around Munyeong’s waist.
“What? I don’t feel cold” she protests.
Kangtae give her a look, “Just wear it” he says sternly.
He put his arm on the back of her seat, casually playing with her hair or briefly caressing her nape in between of his team project discussion.
Munyeong smiles to herself, turns out she’s not the only one marking territories.
