Chapter Text
You quite enjoyed spending time with Eli. He was your boyfriend, after all. He had called you up around 8, asking if you’d like to meet up at the park near your house. This wasn’t an uncommon theme. Not that he was spontaneous per say, but you both enjoyed showing up at each others houses on some occasions. You lived quite close to each other, which was a huge plus. Even his guide dog, Brooke, had memorized the way to your house.
On the way to the park, your heart fluttered. You couldn’t wait to see him.
You approached the park, seeing Eli was already there. “Eli!” You shouted with enthusiasm. He turned his head towards the sound of your voice, smiling. You picked up your pace, as you felt your heart leap. Things never got old when it came to Eli. You greeted him, and he reached out his hand for you to hold. Which you of course accepted the gesture.
It was gorgeous outside, albeit a bit dark already. The moonlight illuminated the park, and it shown onto Eli’s face. You could see his most perfect features practically glowing.
“You’re staring at me,” Eli said confidently, smirking. This snapped you out of your thoughts and made you chuckle. “Really now,” you giggled, “and what makes you so confident in that statement?”
“I just know,” he shrugged, “it’s a vibe I get. Like how you get the feeling someone in class is staring you down while you do your homework.” You leaned into him as you both walked, putting your hand that wasn’t holding his on his shirt. He stopped. “What are you doing?” He asked with an eyebrow raised.
Well,” you said, “I just think you look really pretty right now.”
Your hand was still on his shirt; you could feel his heart rate speed up a little bit. Same old Eli. He could hide his emotions well, but the heart never lies. He still gets bashful, despite how long you’ve been dating. He smiled, tilting his face slightly down as a blush became apparent. His hand left yours and reached for your face. It was slightly clumsy, but he was blind after all. His unseeing eyes reached yours. You always loved seeing them. Once blue, now a dull and cloudy greyish color. He insisted they probably looked a little odd, but they never failed to make your breath hitch.
He stroked your cheek and he smiled. “Have I ever mentioned how much I love you?” He asked, though already knowing the answer. You leaned into his touch. “Yes, darling, you have.”
