In a dystopian near-future world, humanity lives under the oppressive rule of an alien regime, enforced by the authoritarian Transitional Authority. This regime, acting as collaborators to an extraterrestrial group ominously referred to as the "Hosts," governs through fear, surveillance, and strict control. The Hosts, whose motives remain shrouded in mystery, made their presence known on the day of the "Arrival"—a cataclysmic event that reshaped life on Earth forever.
The Arrival began with a purge of key figures across the globe, followed by mass communication jamming and a sudden descent of massive rectangular blocks from the sky. These colossal structures assembled themselves into towering walls that cut through the heart of the world's largest cities, dividing urban areas into "blocs." One such wall surrounds the heart of New York City, a cold, unyielding barrier over 20 stories tall and many meters thick, isolating the central bloc from the surrounding world. These colonies are interconnected by heavily fortified gateways, where the Authority tightly regulates the movement of people and the distribution of resources, such as food and fuel, which are rationed with ruthless precision.
Within this world of surveillance and scarcity, the Authority wields power through their militarized police force, Homeland Security, nicknamed the "Redhats" for their red helmet covers. Their symbol—a stylized bird of prey—earns them the grim moniker of the "Raps," a name that speaks to their predatory nature and collaboration with the alien Hosts. For the people trapped inside the walls, life is reduced to survival. Every movement is watched, every word measured. Dissidents disappear. Resistance is met with swift, brutal retribution.
But life inside the walls is not just a story of oppression—it is a story of resilience, desperation, and the blurred lines between survival and betrayal. It is about people clinging to what little they have left—family, friendship, and fleeting moments of hope—in a world that seems determined to crush it all.
