Ozaki Kouyou, or Ane-San as he would refer to her as, had always been and still was someone he looked up to. She had been his mentor when he had first joined the Port Mafia. She taught him everything she knew and then some. She had been the one to get him into the fine things life, the finer, better tasting wines then the cheap shit he used to get his hands on when living in the Slums. She had become family to him, a older sister he could go to for just about anything. And while at first it felt awkward and she didnt like being called Ane-San she eventually got used to it, hell, even grew to like it. Kouyou knew Chuuya better then anyone, better then even Dazai. No one in the Port Mafia knew him like she did, she knew his fears, his likes, his dislikes. She knew his odd little habits, knew what wines he liked and which ones he could live without. She knew about his love for fashion, make up, anything really that fell into that. She knew of his fear of hospitals, surgeons, his fear of needles. She knew of how it was hard for him to get sick and when he did, it was due to Arahabaki itself being angry at its host for one thing or another.
There was no one in the world Chuuya respected more then her. There was no one else in the world he felt like he could trust like her. So when he and the said woman finally ran into each other, Chuuya had felt a sense of panic. He had been sitting on a park bench, shaded by a large tree behind him. When someone sat next to him, he hsdnt thought much of it, until he decided to turn his gaze to whoever took a seat next to him. Seeing that all to familiar Kimono, that ginger colored hair and that floral perfume...he knew who it was in an instant. For a long time, they said nothing to each other, simply watched as people walked past them, watching water flow up from the fountain in front of them. Chuuya was at a loss for words, what was he supposed to say to her? That he was sorry he left without a word like Dazai had? That he could explain his actions? That he still cared for the Port Mafia like he did two years ago? What was he supposed to say? Was there even anything he could say to make it up to her?
So they sat in silence, the young man wringing his gloved hands together nervously, hoping the brim of his hat hid his worried expression. Not like it worked, the man tensed up when he saw movement out of the corner of his eye. And instead of being attacked by her Golden Demon ability, but instead he found his hat being gently lifted off his head then set aside, next he felt gentle fingers gently worm their way under his chin. He found her grip to be gentle, as always, even as she turned his head to look at her. He figured he would meet her gaze and see nothing but disappointment, hate, maybe even betrayal. But no, she had a tender smile on her face, a look of utter relief. She looked...happy, happy to see him. And honestly, Chuuya was happy to see her too, especially now that he could see that she wasnt upset with him. Hell, he couldnt help the smile that formed on his face or the tears that welled up in his eyes. He could see her own eyes become watery as well. Both letting out soft and sniffle like laughs. Even as he was pulled close to her side, enough to where he could lean on her and she could comfortably wrap an arm around his back, resting her cheek on the top of his head.
And for once since leaving Yokohama and since being back, he didnt feel as alone. While yes he had Nicki and Rick they weren't nearly as close to him or important to him as Kouyou was. He wasnt sure how long they stayed like that, with him leaving against her side. Her arm wrapped around him and rubbing her hand up and down his arm. He felt like a child all over again if he was being honest. He felt like he was fifteenth all over again, needing her to comfort him or help him through some sort of confusion he was experiencing. He felt vulnerable, but he felt safe at the same time.
"I missed you, Child." She said, her voice so warm, so gentle and honest. It brought in a new wave of tears to his gray colored eyes. He reached up with his hand, placing it over her own which was resting on his arm. She didnt know why he left, she wasn't sure she wanted to find out. And while he had left in a manner much like Dazai had, it felt different. He didnt go and join the ADA, he didnt go and join another rival organization like he could have. Instead he broke off to have a normal life in careers and projects that he loved and enjoyed. She couldn't help but squeeze the small redhead against her side. When they finally pulled apart he took a moment to fix his slightly out of place hair before placing his hat back over his head.
"I missed you too, Ane-San," he was disappointed when she pulled away, but he couldnt fight off the smile that stayed on his face as she fixed his hair and placed his hat back on his head. But as he sat there the man coulsnt help but feel that guilt and anxiety from before return. He found himself looking away and down at his feet. "I...I'm sorry for just leaving as i did without so much as a goodbye or warning. I should have at least told you what was going on I should have left you a letter. But I didn't...and I...I'm sorry, Ane-San. I understand if you can't forgive me, and I understand that if you don't want to see me again-"
"Child what are you going on about?" The woman cut in, giving the young man a worried expression. "While I wont lie to you, i am far from happy about you leaving the way you did..I understand why you did it. You had your reasons and you seem...happier now." Happier then he ever was during his years with the Port Mafia. While she wouldn't say he was completely miserable, he would often say how he actually enjoyed his job there, seeing him now compared to back then...there just seemed to be more life and light in his eyes. He was smiling more openly, he wasnt getting into fights like he used to. He was definitely living more peacefully by the looks of things and hell, he even seemed to be enjoying what he was doing now. "And all I want is to see you happy. And you seem happy, as long as you're happy, then I'm happy," she reached over, gently cupping his cheek and stroking along his cheekbone with her thumb. She watched as he leaned into her touch, eyes closed for only a moment before they opened again and locked gazes with her own. "I don't know what made you think I wouldn't want to see you again, but know that is far from the truth. You know how to get in contact with me. Should you wish to ever get together for a drink, all you need to do is give me a call. Alright?"
Chuuya could only nod at her words, she didnt stay for much longer then that. She gave him a final and quick hug before standing up and disappearing into the endless crowds of Yokohama. There was a overwhelming sense of relief that washed over him, he wasnt aware of just how much he needed that talk with her. He leaned back on the small bench, tilting his head back as he stared up at the rustling leaves of the tree above him, the small rays of sunlight just barely breaking through. He allowed his eyes to fall closed, a small smile on his face. Maybe being back wasnt so bad after all.
