There comes a point in one's life where if provoked enough they become intemperate and seek revenge against the people who have persecuted them. For me, this moment happened mere 15 years after my unfortunate coming into the world. Most people's childhoods are filled with gaiety and a profusion of love, and up until the age of four mine was too. When I was four, I discovered to the horror of my family that I was quirkless. My father left shortly thereafter and the only interaction I had with him was to pass his incumbent child support check to my mother each month when I gathered the mail. I would have been fine with having an absentee father since I had little interaction with him in the first place, but unfortunately, the rest of the world was not free of discrimination. My best friend named Bakugou who I gave the affectionate appellation of Kacchan to, was the first to turn against me. When I informed him of my newfound status he denounced his friendship with me and later made it his personal goal to mock, beat, and discriminate against me on the grounds that I was looking down on him. Since I was still a naive child, I practically worshipped the ground that Bakugou stood on and any thoughts that he would not become the #1 hero when he grew up were downright blasphemous. It was only when Bakugou started using his quirk on me that I developed an aversion to Bakugou and explosions. I used to look at Bakugou’s quirk with adoration and stars in my eyes. But soon I started flinching when I heard the telltale popping that signaled Bakugous explosions. The memory of countless times I that have been burned while the teachers did nothing is still seared in my brain. Bakugou was going to be the greatest hero, so teachers could not bear to stain Bakugous permanent record just because a quirkless kid “couldn’t handle a little roughhousing”.
While I know that some people have it worse than me and I would remind myself of this fact numerous times, these reminders did paltry in comparison to the cynical thoughts that pervaded throughout my mind. Let it be known that I had always dreamed of becoming a hero but even that goal of mine, which I religiously sought out would not stop the flow of anomalous thoughts. But I restrained myself and my disapprobation towards murder kept me from fulfilling my sadistic desires and ruining my fidelity to heroism. My efforts, however, were crushed like an ant beneath a boot under the mental strain of continuous discrimination. The events that cause my mental barriers to break down can be recounted in less than three sentences, it is funny how that happens, such little events that only need a few sentences to describe might mean the collapse of someone's world.
My story goes something like this, Bakugou's constant bullying came to a head when he burned and soaked my analysis on heroes and then told me to “take a swan dive off the roof” in the hope that I could get a quirk in the next life. On the way home I met my hero All Might after I had been attacked by a slime villain, who told me that my dream of becoming a hero was nothing but a chimera. When the same slime villain attacked Bakugou and the heroes did nothing, regretfully I stepped in to give Bakugou time to escape, only to be told off because it was too dangerous for a quirkless person. The day’s unfortunate events combined to assault my meager mental barriers and to denounce propriety in favor of getting revenge on Bakugou. Without the restraints of sanity and morals, I made my mark in the black market for information dealing, and many heroes meet their premature end to plans I consigned. In one of my underground deals, I encountered rumors of a powerful yakuza group whose leader sought to stamp out the existence of quirks. Through thorough research and numerous dead-ends, I found their main base of operations. While I do not agree with their expedient methods of quirk elimination, which involved the development and testing of a special drug. I put what was left of my morality on the wayside to bring about the justice that society did not think to deliver.
I used my newfound status in the yakuza to expand my monetary assets all while under the noses of the police who never even thought to accuse a “poor quirkless boy” of being the newly dubbed villain ‘Mastermind.’. While I have never claimed to be sagacious, I did commit myself fully to the perfect fulfillment of my revenge. I spared no expense in planning the deed and spent countless nights awake till dawn contemplating the finer details of the murder. My affinity toward strategy helped to plan counter actions in the unfortunate event that Bakugou did not act in the manner that I had predicted. It seems that I had overestimated Bakugou, and even when he knew he was being stalked (which was part of my primary plan) he did not call the police but instead sought me out for a one on one confrontation. This enabled me to dominate our skirmish with relative ease and no fear of being outnumbered. For all that society has praised quirks Bakugou’s "oh so powerful" explosion quirk did nothing to stop the quirk eliminating bullet from piercing his neck. The rest of the process was so simple that it made me wonder how murderers even got caught in the first place. There were people who saw me shoot Bakugou, I know for I stared into their very soul as I pulled the trigger before they broke eye contact, and yet not a soul tried to stop me or notify the authorities.
My plan was to set Bakugou up in a baroque chair fit for a king and to stream a video detailing Bakugou’s abuses but I got a little sidetracked when I noticed that Bakugou tried to put up an air of confidence. It was fun trying to make his confidence crumble because "what hero would want to save a worthless bully like him". The finest pleasure that I experienced was when after I stopped the recording Bakugou’s visage finally morphed into one of terror. He realized that even though I had been broadcasting for a whole hour no heroes arrived to save him. I was finally free to serve out Bakugou’s rightful sentence! Not even the esteemed All Might could stop me from completing my goal of bringing about the cessation of Bakugou’s life. Watching Bakugou writhe in agony while I burned every part on him where I still have a scar brought tears of joy to my eyes. I told him as such when I left him to bleed out on the rooftop where my dreams were crushed. It was absolutely wonderful to see Bakugou’s mangled body on the news two days later along with detective Naomasa’s thoughts on the killers' quirk. How ironic is it that the first thought people have is to theorize the killers quirk based on the mutilation of the body, when in fact all one needs is a flamethrower or a lighter to burn someone's flesh.
I am still convinced that I did the world a favor no matter what the world tries to manipulate me into believing. They may tell me Bakugou was only taught to discriminate, so it was not his fault, but I know that these are just convenient excuses to make me repent and turn myself in to be punished by the law. No argument however well thought out will make me regret eradicating the world's most deluded and deranged abuser. In my most astute opinion as the victim of Bakugou’s crimes, claiming he is innocent of all his past abuses is equivocal to letting a murderer get away because no one punished them for murder before!
