"Hey, hey, Johnny."
"Yeah, Gyro ?"
He was smiling at him, his golden teeth so bright even though there was no sign of the sun in the sky.
Still riding his horse, he asked.
"Do you think you have a special someone waiting for you somewhere ?"
Johnny became thoughtful, not knowing what to answer.
Gyro laughed. "Big question, eh ?"
"Yeah, pretty much."
They rode in silence for a couple of minutes. Then, Johnny broke it.
"I don't think so, no."
Gyro made a bad face. "Aw, really ? Man, that's sad !" he whined, just before adding. "I like to think I do."
"You do ?"
"Yeah. I mean... Don't you like the thought of having someone here for you ? Someone who would never let you down, ever ?" he started to smile a bit while speaking. "Waiting for you no matter what ?"
Johnny remained silent for a second.
"I have you," he finally said. "I feel like it's enough."
Gyro's smile grew wider.
"Aw, Johnny-boy ! You can be nice when you want to."
"I'm always nice."
Gyro let out a deep laugh, before answering. "Yeah, yeah, sure. You're funny, too."
"But you're not."
"See ? Hilarious you are, Johnny !" and Gyro laughed once again.
Johnny said nothing. He liked to hear Gyro laugh. It was comforting.
They were still riding. The night was calm and quiet, the sky was starry, the weather was soft.
A beautiful night.
"You know what, Johnny ? Having you is enough, too."
'Yes,' thought Johnny. 'It's a beautiful night, indeed.'
