Work Text:
Spirits were high tonight as the faculty of UA High school gathered around the crackling campfire for their annual fall party. Most of the staff were there as chaperones watching over the students, who after a long day of training were reveling in the relaxation. Compared to other festivities put on by the school, this one was rather small as it was only for students and staff at UA.
Toshinori watched the students as they participated in the various activities, both traditional and unique. He could see young Bakugo and his friends at the Wanage booth, arguing over who was the best at the game. Over by the food vendors were the third years Mirio, Tamaki, and Nejire laughing and filling their mouths with most of what had been offered.
Dazed at watching each student, Toshinori was startled when a low gravelly voice began to speak by him.
“Allmight,” Aizawa said quietly and urgently, “I need your help.”
Toshinori turned so fast mid-transformation that Aizawa had to duck to avoid being thrown back.
“Eraserhead is something wrong? Is there an emergency?” All Mights head whipped back and forth and students were starting to give worried glances at their two teachers.
Aizawa gritted his teeth in annoyance, “Would you shut up and stop causing everyone to look at us, you nitwit?”
In a puff of smoke and a cough of blood, Toshinori was back to his weakened state, “Sorry about that Aizawa, what do you need my help with?”
“Hizashi,” Aizawa said in a harsh tone, “I was watching him, he got into the cider, and now I can’t find him.”
Toshinori quirked his eyebrow, “He got into the cider?”
Was Hizashi allergic to apples or was something else in the cider? He had only ever seen Aizawa this agitated during battles, but he had never seen him this anxious and maybe a little unhinged.
Aizawa glared at him, his hair lifting with his anger. “It was the faculty Cider,” he gritted through his teeth.
Toshinori let the realization of the situation drape over him like an icy hug, “We have to find him.”
They quickly sprung into action, with Toshinori taking the ground searching through all of the vendors' stalls, trying not to worry any of the other staff or faculty. Aizawa took to the higher advantage, jumping from lamp post to lamp post, his scowl deepening with each area he searched. God forbid what Hizashi had planned in his drunken stupor, that man was the lightest of light weights Aizawa had ever met. Toshinori wasn’t having much luck either as he continued his search, hoping to find the loud DJ at the announcement booth.
Neither of them noticed that the stage had lit up until it was too late, and the sound of blaring music filled the air.
“Fuck,” is all Aizawa said, as a crowd began to form around the show.
Toshinori tried to push through the crowd as Mic dramatically wobbled onto stage, but he knew he wouldn’t be able to reach him in time.
A high pitched “Hey!” pierced the air as Hizashi called out jubilantly.
“What is up my listeners!” he screeched, the volume control he normally had no longer there as his words slurred together in a deafening tone.
Still the crowd cheered with enthusiasm, some of the students catching on that their dear english professor was in a compromised state. They whispered to each other, snickering and giggling, following the line of gossip.
“Tonight for one night only,” Hizashi yelled, “For the Fall Festival I present to you my favorite game, Did you know: Teacher Addition!”
Bakugo nudged Kirishima next to him, “This oughta be good.” He snickered.
Aizawa activated his erasure, trying to silence his friend, but Hizashi simply picked up one of the microphones that was in place for the other announcers. At least it wasn’t as loud as before, hopefully Toshinori was taking the opportunity to get to him before he said anything embarrassing.
“Alright let's start with our favorite Class 1-A Teacher! Did you know Mr. Aizawa’s favorite show as a kid was Boo Boo Bear Force! His favorite bear, young listeners, was none other than Mr. Blue or as I like to call him, the grumpiest bear of all.”
There was a gasp of laughter from the crowd as they frantically looked around to try and find the topic of Hizashi’s embarrassing ramblings. Thankfully Aizawa was still out of the limelight, trying to figure out how to get Hizashi off the stage without causing any more trouble. If anyone mentioned this to him tomorrow in class, he would expel them for sure.
“Ya’ll better buckle up cus I got more where that came from! Let me tell you about our good friend Miss Midnight and her secret trove of -”
Hizashi was cut off as a thick cloud of pink smoke floated over the crowd as students and staff alike began dropping into a deep slumber, Toshinori included. Aizawa teetered on the edge of the lamp post as the gas finally reached him. He had just enough time to secure himself with his scarf and watch Hizashi fall unconscious before blacking out himself.
In the dead silent slumber of the fall festival, the light clicking of heels on the wood stage was deafening.
“Okay, no more Cider for you,” the smooth voice of the Pro-Hero Midnight called to Hizashi as she replaced her skin tight suit.
