Work Text:
“Jimin-ssi,” Jungkook coos, leaning towards the other, “how’s your pumpkin going?”
Jimin growls, face flushing; he curls an arm around his pumpkin protectively, yanking it closer as Jungkook tries to see it.
“Yah, let me work on it!” he whines, slapping at Jungkook’s wandering hands.
“But I want to see it,” Jungkook needles, reaching for Jimin’s side, trying to tickle him.
He digs his fingers into Jimin’s side, grinning happily as the older man breaks into a fit of giggles. Trying to wiggle away, Jimin shoves at him with his foot, laughing as Jungkook’s other hand grips his ankle.
“Kook-ah, stop it!” Jimin giggles, trying to yank his leg back, “let me finish!”
Jungkook pouts, letting go of the other; Jimin’s giggles die down, though a smile remains on his face.
“I’m almost done, I’m just finishing it,” Jimin says, eyes bunching up happily.
Jungkook nods, putting his head in his hand to watch; Jimin’s back to focusing on his pumpkin, his tongue poking out just a bit. Biting his lip, Jungkook can feel his face heat up a bit; Jimin is cute when he focuses like this.
“Shouldn’t you be finishing yours instead of staring at me?” Jimin asks quietly, eyes darting up to Jungkook’s.
“But I like looking at you,” Jungkook shoots back, delighted as Jimin’s face flushes.
Laughing, Jungkook turns his pumpkin a little, putting a few finishing touches on his design. He had wanted to do something from Nightmare Before Christmas, deciding on Oogie Boogie after a bit. All he had left to do was thin the edges around Oogie Boogie, making a shadow effect. Jimin, on the other hand…
“Almost done?”
Jimin hums, leaning back a bit to look at his pumpkin. Jungkook watches fondly, hooking his foot around Jimin’s ankle. The older man smiles down at his pumpkin, scooting his chair a little closer to Jungkook’s.
“Ready to see?” Jimin asks, looking up at Jungkook.
Nodding, Jungkook twists his pumpkin around to face Jimin, doing jazz hands as Jimin gasps.
“Kookie, it looks so good!”
Jungkook’s chest puffs up a bit, a satisfied grin on his face; he’s really proud of it, and it feels really good to have Jimin compliment it. Jimin’s face falls as he looks at his own pumpkin, lips pulling down; Jungkook can feel his smile slipping, concern flooding his body.
“Jiminie? Jimin-hyung?”
Jimin sighs, picking at a spot on his pumpkin; frown growing, Jungkook scoots his chair closer, reaching over to grab Jimin’s hand. He links their fingers together, tugging at Jimin’s hand to get his attention.
“It’s stupid, I'm being stupid,” Jimin says, looking at his pumpkin sadly, “yours is a lot better.”
“Wait, hyung, no—” Jungkook says, scooting closer until he’s pressed completely along Jimin’s side.
Jimin sighs, resting his head on Jungkook’s shoulder. Lips pressed together, Jungkook twists Jimin’s pumpkin around to see. It’s…kind of a mess, but it’s endearing and cute. The mouth is lopsided, and the eyes are uneven, but it pulls a smile from Jungkook—he nudges Jimin gently, lips brushing Jimin’s ear as he speaks.
“It’s cute, hyung. I really like it.”
Jimin wiggles a little, the tips of his ears pink. Jungkook grins, pressing a quick kiss to the flushed skin.
“Don’t lie, Kookie.”
“I’m not lying, though!” Jungkook says, tightening his grip around Jimin’s hand, “I really like it!”
“Really?”
Jungkook nods, reaching out to pat the pumpkin lovingly. Jimin snorts, elbowing him away. Jungkook laughs, tugging at their entwined hands—he presses a quick kiss to Jimin’s cheek, letting go to reach for the pumpkin.
“We should put it somewhere everyone will see,” Jungkook muses, lower lip pushing out as he thinks of a place.
Jimin stands slowly, taking the pumpkin from Jungkook’s hands; Jungkook follows him as he walks towards the front entrance, placing it down on the table there. Jungkook wraps his arms around Jimin from behind, resting his head on the other’s shoulder. Jimin leans into him, grabbing one of his hands and tangling their fingers together. Smiling, Jungkook presses a soft kiss to Jimin’s neck.
“Perfect. It looks perfect.”
