The bunny and the wolves

Summary:

Our dear [Name] sets on the trip of her life, leaving everything behind as she moves to the capital of commerce; Liyue. There, she would meet a pair of wolves (or dragon?) in sheep clothing that will slowly, but surely find their way into the heart of our dear hero(ine). Not everything is what it seems, and there is always more than meets the eye.

Or... the misfortunes of [Name] that time the Geo Archon and the eleventh Fatui Harbinger worked together! Again.

Notes:

I'm super, ridiculously obssessed with this game. But I've run out of story missions so what better way to pass the time than to write a story for my, so far, two favorite male characters! (Don't hate me Diluc and Kaeya, you come close second!) Spoiler warnings if you haven't completed the main story quests. I hope you enjoy :)! <3

Chapter 1: The adventure begins

Chapter Text

Liyue, the beautiful city harbor located in East Teyvat. Known for its commerce and trades all over the seven nations. Rich in rivers and colors, reigned by the one and only Geo Archon; Rex Lapis.

Or at least, that is what you had heard from many of the merchants and adventurers that eventually found home in Mondstadt.

That was more than enough motivation to convince yourself to move on with your life. You loved the city of freedom, but it was time for a change. You wanted to see the world, wanted to check the veracity of those stories by yourself. You wanted the experience.

It did not come as a surprise the different opinions from your teammates, being a trained Knight of Favonius, you had Amber cheering you on, and then Lisa and Captain Kaeya making up a hundred and five reasons as to why you shouldn’t commit to the trip.

But your mind was made, and there was no going back.

Though, in retrospective, perhaps listening to their advices would have been wiser than adventuring in the wild with little experience and a bag full of belongings that proved to be useless.

When you became a knight, you did it to follow your father’s steps. It was easier said than done, and you realized that it didn’t matter how many books you read on the matter. The only way to learn was through practice.

The same applied to adventuring, so you thought, as your electrified sword cut down another water slime.

You had lost count of how many of those had attacked you in the past few days. It had been almost a week since you left Mondstadt, and the only two peaceful nights you could have during that time were the second, where you found the Wangshu inn and managed to snatch a room, and the fifth, in which you had incorrectly followed your map and ended up in the Qingce Village.

Your electro vision hung securely from your belt as you finished the last of enemies, looking down at your loyal companion; Ji the weasel. You had saved the rascal from a furious merchant when it had tried to grab a heavy looking Mora pouch. Since that day, the weasel had accompanied you everywhere.

You dropped on the moist grass; the fire long gone after the slimes had slithered around your camp, and wrapped your arms around yourself. Sometimes, you envied Amber very much. She could light up a fire anywhere…

A long sigh left your lips. You were tired and hungry, and it seemed the universe was conspiring against you as they sent wave after wave of enemies. If it wasn’t the random Hilichurl camps that you tried to sneak by during the day, and failed, it was the slimes appearing out of seemingly nowhere during the night.

You looked at your weasel, before standing up, urging it to go. “C’mon, Ji. We gotta continue for tonight.”

The small animal seemed to perk at your words, and immediately climbed up your body, wrapping itself around your neck as you walked down the dirt path.

It was a somewhat slippery slope, and you tried to be as careful as possible. Though it proved a failure when a small Dendro slime appeared out of thin air and pushed you down the hill.

You grabbed Ji from the spot, and held it against your chest as you rolled downwards, until you finally came to a painful halt at the hill’s base.

“Oh, for the love of Barbatos, what is this?!” You exclaimed to no one in particular as you remained sprawled on the ground. Your body ached, and you could sense a few bruises forming on your back and thighs. “Just… five minutes…”

Your quiet voice echoed around the deserted area as a pair of footsteps followed it. But you were too far gone, completely asleep in place.
