How had he gotten here?
Haruki had to hold back a sigh as Yoko unashamedly flirted with Zett. After all the time Zett had been on Earth, he'd learned how to be at human size for longer than fifty seconds. Now it was close to two minutes, maybe two and a half if they tried to push it.
Unfortunately, Yoko didn't know that. Didn't know that Haruki and Zett had some kind of connection. So since Zett had simply helped out this time, she seemed to have no qualms… conversing with Zett. Not that it was really a conversation, Yoko was doing all of the talking.
"It was very cool how you knocked out those aliens," She gushed, prompting Haruki to roll his eyes, though it was only visible to Zett. "So amazing…"
With a slightly uncomfortable squeeze - which he quickly tried to cover up - Zett seemed to have some thoughts about it. "I uh, she’s uh, Ultra-nice."
With a groan, Haruki responded, "Don’t worry about it, Zett. We just have to figure out how to get away before we get too tired."
"Haruki," Zett whined, "How am I supposed to do that?"
While Haruki didn't think it would have been too hard to figure out a solution, he just decided to give it to Zett. "Just.. Just run off, it'll be fine."
Though Zett seemed hesitant, initially, he quickly nodded. Outside of their conversation, Zett did just what Haruki suggested. Ran off.
"What?" Yoko yelped, startled by Zett's sudden movements, "Lord Zett! Where are you going?"
Thankfully, Zett was quick enough to get away from Yoko. Just in time, too. Haruki and Zett probably wouldn't have been able to stay like that very long. As Haruki tried to catch his breath, Yoko came running up.
"Haruki," She began, "Did you see Lord Zett?"
"Huh?" Haruki managed to sound as confused as he could, "Zett was here?"
A frown falls on Yoko's face, briefly, before she responds, "Yes, but he ran off."
"Maybe he had somewhere to be?" He suggested, though it was weak. Yoko shrugged and that was the end of 5he conversation.
---
That was, unfortunately, neither the first, nor last time something like that happened. If anything, almost comically, it seemed to be starting to happen even more frequently. Everytime, Haruki just had to tell Zett to run away.
That plan had always worked so far, but it sure didn't keep working. This time, there was nowhere to run away to. Haruki left Zett to handle Yoko while he tried to come up with a solution.
"Oh, Lord Zett," Yoko went on, "We should meet outside of you helping when there are monsters and aliens."
The only exit out of this room was behind Yoko. Maybe they could just pushed past her? He'd certainly feel bad about it, but he wasn’t sure he was prepared for anyone to find out about him and Zett. Maybe they could distract her? That would be hard though…
"Haruki?" Zett called, "What does she mean by that?"
In response to the question, Haruki sighed, "Don’t worry about it." He frowned, "We just need to find a way to get out of here before we run out of time."
Despite now putting their heads together (that probably gave them at least one brainchild, right?) Yoko wasn't able to tell that Zett wasn't paying as much attention to her. "Not to mention," Haruki wasn't really sure what she had been saying before, "You're so strong!"
Zett threw his suggestion to Haruki, "We can just go out the door." He said, "It should be Ultra-easy!"
Though Haruki nodded, he wasn't sure if the plan would entirely work, "As long as we're careful not to knock her over too much," He didn't want her to get hurt, after all, "And hopefully she doesn't follow much."
"You do such a good job fighting those monsters," Yoko continued to gush, "I'm glad we're able to talk like this." Nevermind that she was the only one talking.
With a frown, Haruki looked to Zett, "Let's go with that plan,"
The plan, thankfully, worked out well enough. But it was certainly an uncomfortable situation leading up to it.
At the last possible moment, Zett asks, "Why does she talk like that?"
Haruki sighed, "Because Yoko has a crush on you."
The last thing he heard before Haruki was back to being himself was Zett's startled "What!?" Followed by, "That’s Ultra-weird!"
