“Dabi!”
The raven turned around and was face to face with Tomura. His heart skipped a beat at the sight of the other.
“Shigaraki?”
The leader was trying to catch his breath, since he had ran all the way down the last floor of the building they were in to where the older was, which was the garage. “W-wait,”
Dabi waited patiently, and as soon as Tomura looked a bit better, their gazes locked, sending a shiver down the raven’s spine. “What’s up?” he asked, trying to play cool.
“What do you mean ‘what’s up’?” he asked with an angry look on his face. “You were fucking leaving and you didn’t even tell me!”
“Oh, right.” Dabi said and laughed a bit. “About that…”
“You think I didn’t know you were going to leave as soon as you accomplished your goals?” the white haired asked. “I fucking know you, okay?”
“Then why are you here? Are you trying to stop me?” Dabi asked and then gave a low laugh. “Tomura…”
“I’m not here to stop you,” he said and then bit his lower lip, taking a look around. “Actually, I’m here to say goodbye.” Tomura looked down, his face getting hot with embarrassment.
“Oh…” the raven said in shock, his mouth in a perfect “o” shape. “Don’t tell me you got all soft on me?”
“It’s not that, you fucking idiot.” Tomura said and suddenly, the embarrassment was gone, his expression now annoyed. “I mean, yeah, I guess I got soft on all of you. But it’s not only that.”
“Then what is it?”
The leader bit his lip one more time, but then took a deep breath. “You’re my friend. I mean, yeah, you’re my friend, but I think I like you a bit more than friends, I mean, I don’t think so, I know I like you a bit more, so I’m here to tell you that and to say goodbye because god know what will happen to us and when we’ll see each other again…”
Dabi knew it was cliché, but he close the gap between them, kissing the other’s mouth to make Tomura stop gambling. At first, the leader didn’t kiss back, maybe too shocked to do so, but after a few seconds their mouths were moving together and Dabi couldn’t help but smile through the kiss.
They pulled away, gazes locking and breaths heavy, trying to catch them. “You talk too much,” the raven said and both laughed at that.
Shigaraki wasn’t controlling himself when he got on his tip toes and hugged the other’s neck, pressing his face on Dabi’s shoulder. Instantly, the raven’s arms circled Tomura’s hips. “I don’t want you to go, but I won’t try to stop you. I know this is important to you.”
“Yeah,” Dabi whispered and then pressed his cheeks to the other’s top head. “I need to go back.”
Shigaraki nodded and then pulled away a bit, just so that they could face each other. “What do you pretend to do?”
The raven took a deep breath and then shrugged. “Just wanna go back, see my mom and my siblings. Go to prison was not an option before, but I think they’ll go easy on me, since everyone hates him now. They pity me. I don’t like that, not at all, but I guess if pity takes me out of prison faster, then that’s okay.”
Shigaraki nodded and then sighed. “Just be careful. I know we probably won’t see each other ever again, but be okay for me. I don’t wanna lose you.”
“You’re already losing me.”
Tomura shook his head and touched their foreheads together. “You’re alive and well, and that’s all I could ask for. I’m not losing you, I’m just…” their gazes were locked so Dabi saw the exact moment when Tomura’s eyes filled with tears, but the leader didn’t let them fall. “I’m just not going to be with you anymore.”
Dabi smiled weakly and then touched the other’s nose with his. “I’m glad you came to me to tell me that.”
“I’m glad too. I would never be at peace if I didn’t tell you my feelings, so yeah.”
Dabi kissed the younger one more time and then, they pulled away. Shigaraki was going to walk back to the hideout when Dabi touched his hand. Their eyes met one more time. “You know… I love you too.”
Shigaraki smiled, a genuine smile Dabi had never seen on the other’s face. The whole world stopped, the only thing that mattered was that Shigaraki Tomura was smiling, and it was because of him. “Take care, okay, ashtray?”
The raven nodded. “You too, creep.”
