Year 1999
The day for the medical school interview, Lee Ik Jun traveled from Changwon to Seoul.
Since he does not have loose change for transportation, he has to have his money changed into smaller bills. Luckily, a sidewalk vendor was selling some random trinkets. But the only thing he can buy was a beige scrunchie. No choice but to get it.
While waiting to be called for the interview, he sat on one of the chairs outside the room. Him and Kim Jun Wan was talking about the interviews:
“I don’t think I did good with my essays, Ikjun-ah” Jun Wan exclaimed.
“Forget that. They are looking for something different this year.”
“What?”
“Neatness. So if I were you, I’ll cut that hideous bangs off.”
With that, Jun Wan ran to the bathroom.
Unknown to Ikjun the girl on his right heard him and was frantically looking for something to tie her hair up inside her jacket. Ikjun handed her the scrunchie he bought at the vendor nonchalanntly.
From then on, he was intrigued about the girl.
A few months later they met again at a mixer for medical students. Well not really. He met her while hiding from being embarrassed. Not only did he sat beside her, he bravely put his arm around her to take a picture.
From then on, along with Ahn Jeong Won, Yang Seok Hyeong and Kim Jun Wan, they became fast friends, formed a band in a sideline and spent the rest of their med school days together.
