Work Text:
It was almost midnight. Kou and Mitsuba had stayed up late finishing their geography assignment, all because Kou did not understand the subject, but also did not collaborate in focusing. They had started at 7 PM, and Kou would have dinner at Mitsuba's house and thrn leave. That was the plan.
Which was clearly flawed, since it was now 11:48 PM and too late to go back.
An hour ago, Kou had called Teru, saying that he would stay later at his boyfriend's house. Teru just agreed, already expecting that.
You see, they always slept at each other's house when they had the opportunity, so neither family was really surprised at this point.
But what was supposed to be a study date had become a kissing session, since Kou refused to answer a question without getting something in return. Mitsuba, weak before the Minamoto puppy eyes — They all do that, what is their problem? — accepted.
And so it was for the rest of the night. Every time Kou got it right, he got a simple peck. One of them that was soon transformed into a soft kiss and caresses for some time.
Anyway, it was some time ago that they had finally finished the project, but still decided to remain in the other's arms for some time.
It had been a fight, but Kou Minamoto had finally managed to make Sousuke Mitsuba let his guard down when they were alone. Yes, it still happened from time to time, there are habits that never die, but Mitsuba had really started to be more affectionate, or at least not to kick Kou away whenever he tried to get closer.
So here was the pair, Kou already lying on Mitsuba's bed, among the dozens of pillows, just waiting for Mitsuba. The latter was in front of his closet, looking for some cute pajamas.
He opted for white shorts with a pink shirt, putting the shorts first.
Without thinking too much, he lifted the T-shirt over his face, taking it off, leaving a view that Kou would usually find incredible, if he hadn't noticed a detail.
He had no idea how he hadn't seen it before, considering the intimacy they had, but he noticed the scar that ran from one point on his chest to part of his arm.
Mitsuba pulled his shirt off completely, releasing the vision again, only to find Kou staring at him with wide eyes.
Oh no.
Mitsuba put his hand on his chest, covering the mark he hated so much.
Kou knew of some scars, such as the one around his right wrist, the one on his neck and the one above his eye, but he had never noticed it. He looked into Mitsuba's eyes, confused.
— Is this- — Kou tried to speak, but was soon interrupted by Mitsuba's defensive voice.
— Is is. Another one, yes. A big one, yes. — Mitsuba turned, not wanting to risk eye contact at that moment.
Kou, worried, got up from the bed and pulled his boyfriend by the hand to the mattress, with both of them sitting near each other.
— Is that from the accident...? — Kou asked in a calm and low voice, holding Mitsuba's face, who now had tears in the corner of his eyes.
Mitsuba just nodded in silence, clasping Kou's arms in his hands. — Right. Why didn't you show me before?
A tear ran. — I hate it. I hate them all. I hate that accident, I hate the memory, I hate the marks, I hate everything. They are ugly and make me horrible.
He spat the words out in a bitter voice. Kou just sighed, pulling Mitsuba into a hug.
— You know you don't have to worry about any of this with me, right? — He whispered against the pink strands of hair. He took a breath especially to smell Mitsuba's sweet hair.
Yes, he knew he didn't have to, it was obvious that he didn't. Kou was the humanization of a sunflower. He was the kindest and most honest person he had ever met. It was clear that there was no need to worry.
But even so, the paranoias were greater in his head, and although they didn't make any sense, they always pushed him away from the blond he loved so much, acting together with his pride so that he never did it.
Mitsuba hated that.
— Sousuke — He heard Kou's voice bringing him back to reality again. — You know it's not an extra scar that will make you less perfect, right?
Perfect.
Mitsuba was perfect in Kou's eyes. He would always be.
He hugged his boyfriend, giving himself over to the heat of his body and the tears that insisted on coming down.
— So many people already said they are ugly... There comes a point where you just believe them, you know... — he confessed
Kou just hugged him tightly, pressing his lips and placing tender kisses on his pink hair. He ran his hands over Mitsuba's back, trying to calm him down.
He quieted down after a few minutes, getting up to finish putting on his pajamas. He slid his shirt over his thin body and laid down beside Kou.
The blonde hugged him. He placed a kiss on the scar above Sousuke's eye.
— I love every inch of you, Sousuke. — He held the other's hand affectionately, bringing his wrist to his face, kissing it too — Never question that. And if you do, I'll be here to remind you.
Mitsuba smiled, hugging him and going for a kiss, slow and tender.
As usual after a crisis coming from either of them, they slept spooning, since the smaller one felt safer when he had Kou hugging him.
The blond found the perfect opportunity to finish the job, also kissing the scar on Mitsuba's neck, noticing how the other shivered in response.
He slid his hand under his pajama shirt until he found the start of the newly discovered mark. He gently stroked it with his fingers, impressed by how his boyfriend didn't try to push him again.
His hand travelled it's way back, pulling Mitsuba closer, hugging him and whispering in his ear.
— I love you, Sousuke. I love you in an unimaginable way.
He got silence for an answer, until he was cut off by the other's embarrassed and low voice.
— ... I love you too... idiot...
