Work Text:

He never expected you to be up this late. What were you doing anyway? The night sky was painted with a deep, twilight zoned blue as illuminations of exploding gas flickered across the canvas when a falsely lightened rock highly floated in the centre of our ‘Starry night’.

Maybe he should chuff a few cigarettes to actually wake him the fuck up now. Considering he probably won’t be able to fall asleep now that the cold, annoying breeze that aggravatingly entered the bedroom from your living room—Like? Why do you always leave the bedroom door when exiting it, this man loves you and you just—leave the flipping door and let him shrivel up in his sleep?!

Women are fucking confusing sometimes. For the times you’ve snapped, he understands, but if you had the door left open when he has to leave for his ‘work’, you would be murdering him in his sleep the following night.

Never mind the early awakening—it was around 4:30 am and for the record, he must be shitting himself in his pants if he must use that overrated saying- in the smallest freckle of information he just gave out, Jin stuffed his legs into one of his stolen pyjama pants that you always manage to get your hands on and ignored putting on a shirt, it’s not like you’ll die at the sight of him. Snatching his lighter and box of cheap-ass cigarettes- it’s not like he has class…- he soon grasped the cold, no it was much more than cold

It was like someone placed the goddamn handle into a -20 freezer and expected him not to flinch at its chilly numbing sensation that pricked at his nerves when tugging it to the side, there you stood with a cup of something evaporating into the atmosphere.

As the door slid behind him, he noted your hair swishing in anticipation of somebody behind you. With your head cocking to the side, those beautiful pupils circled excitedly at his arrival. “Morning Hunny…” Though Jin had hummed in greeting to you, raising the lighter to the ever-sliding cigarette coming out of its hiding hole, you continued talking, “sorry to wake you up…” He caught onto the forlorn ring of (y/n)’s voice, he stopped for a moment to hear what you had to say, but nothing came out of those stubborn lips of yours.

He’ll be damned to say he’s whipped for you to place his cigarettes and lighter off to the side, but it’s true, he’ll hold back on killing himself if it wasn’t for your emotions and wellbeing to come at his top priority. “What’s wrong baby? Do I look like I care about your wellbeing?” As much as he doesn’t like rushing things, he doesn’t want to rush this emotional moment for you. “I had a nightmare…it’s uh, fine now,” a minuscule second passed, “I left the door open again, didn’t I?” Huffing out in annoyance at her actions, she faced her lover with unknown tranquillity. “It’s fine really—no its not— so trust me…”

“I’ve gotten over it…so you don’t have to worry about me.” Smiling to back at him, you noticed the deeper details that framed his face. Slightly softened eyes glazed at your slumped form and for a minute, he believed you.

Then again, it was only for a minute, you were always so adamant about closing yourself off and only giving the care he deserved. If he for any chance thought about even confronting your demons, you would push him back into the beautiful sunlight and instead bask in the nightmarish beings of the misty midnight. “Please, (y/n). Tell me what the fuck is going on—Bitch, what are you hiding?” A pointed glare shot to his approaching form, “I’ve told you, I’m over it Jin.” A controlled breath was taken inwards, she snapped her view back to the polluted lights in the distance with a shadow of doubt clouding her thinking.

“(Y/n). Baby girl.” Gritting your teeth, the subtle shaking of your hands alerted Jin’s focus to the clenched-up digits risking the breakage of the scorching beverage’s cup being held, as much as (y/n) didn’t have to relive and tell Jin anything about her past, the happier she will be. “Please, you do so much for me.” Shaking her head like a spoiled child, her lips stayed sealed like a zip lock bag. “It’s my turn,” followed by, “Hello? Are you still there?” the collapsing glass container holding potions and concoctions fell off her mental shelf when she planted her head in Jin’s chest with awful, awkward silence. If this gets him to stop asking about her nightmares, then she’ll pull out any trump cards she has.

“I’m not ready to talk about it,” arms wrapped around her body, sowing the seeds of profound closure in the empty fields of thoughts. “but when you are, you’ll tell me first?” a creeping twitch to smile was felt against the male’s bare chest, the gleeful second voice followed up with, “You better not lie!

“I won’t, I promise.”
