Work Text:

All for One stepped into a beautiful sight as he opened the door to the cabin, his sweet son asleep in a pile of furs by the hearth. He quickly closed the door behind him as not to let in more freezing air before approaching his little evergreen. Izuku’s sleeping face was so peaceful as he cuddled the stormy grey pelt he was laying on, face lit by the warm glow of the fire.

The god smiled as he stroked his son's hair affectionately. After hunting in the eternal snow storm of his realm coming home to his small son felt like the greatest gift in the world. All Might could threaten him all he wanted but that wouldn’t change the fact that Izuku was his . He pulled his child closer to him. Izuku was so precious, so innocent, so perfect. All for One pressed a kiss to his son’s brow.

His sleeping child shifted closer in his father’s embrace. It was nice to know that unconsciously Izuku did know that his father was here to protect him. If only his son could realize that consciously then everything would be perfect. Izuku had a tendency to try to fight or escape, not that he ever got very far. Izuku for all his intelligence couldn’t understand that he was finally where he was supposed to be.

All for One ran his hand through Izuku’s soft green curls. Soon his son would understand that his ascent and habitation in this realm was necessary. A new god needed protection as they grew into their powers after all and who better than a caring father to lead Izuku to his true potential. Izuku would do wonderful things but he was vulnerable, he needed protection. His son was a treasure, his radiant treasure. His brilliant innocent child, so passionate and kind, would forever be safe with him.

The creak of the door broke his train of thought as a familiar dark ghostly figure appeared, letting in a gust of freezing wind and snow, who quickly closed the door behind him while balancing an enchanted silver tray of his own design, “You requested dinner be brought for the young master dinner M’lord.”

“Thank you Kurogiri, you can go.”

Kurogiri set the tray next to him before retreating from the room causing another blast of cold from the ever present storm. All for One watched Izuku snuggle deeper into the furs at the cold until only his hair could be seen out from under them. He was adorable. No matter how much he enjoyed the soft innocence of Izuku’s rest the boy had to eat.

“Wake up little evergreen,” He whispered as he jostled his son ever so slightly.

After a few moments his son’s eyes fluttered open, verdant and pure. Izuku slowly rubbed the sleep from his eyes before realizing his head was resting on his father’s knee. Watching the gears turn in his son’s head was captivating. His son tried to move but the god was faster depositing the squirming child in his lap. The furs fell as he did leaving Izuku more exposed to the slight chill of the cabin, he shivered.

“It's time to eat little one,” He murmured to his son, uncovering the tray and taking one of the bowls of warm stew, “open up.”

Izuku glared at him, it was reminiscent of a kitten and he internally cooed, “I can feed myself.”

“Then you can prove that to me later evergreen. Open up.”

Izuku kept his mouth shut and continued to glare. He was as stubborn as his uncle sometimes, but All for One refused to make the same mistakes twice. With a sigh he pitched Izuku’s nose. He waited as his son’s face slowly went red from lack of air as Izuku’s small hand desperately tried to move his father’s arm until he was finally forced to open his mouth to take a breath. With a swift motion he put a spoonful of stew in his mouth as he let go of his son’s nose. Izuku swallowed, glaring at him as tears gathered in the wide eyes. After Izuku took shaky breaths after, All for One let him steady his breathing for a moment.

Then he held another spoonful to Izuku’s mouth. After a second of hesitation Izuku dutifully opened, letting his father take care of him. It continued until the bowl was empty, Izuku slowly stopped hesitating. Though tears continued to well up in Izuku’s eyes none fell. His son was learning slowly but surely and that caused the deity to feel a ripple of pride. His precious treasured son was slowly coming to understand that this was his life.

All for One pulled the discarded fur over the two of them as he laid down, easing Izuku to lay next to him. His child didn’t resist but he could hear the muffled sounds of his cries. The god pressed a kiss to his son’s head as All for One rubbed soothing circles on his back. At the reassuring gestures Izuku sobbed, All for One knew it would take time for his son to get used to being comforted, but he’d understand soon enough. Slowly Izuku’s wimpers faded and he fell into a deep sleep, secure in his father’s arms.

That morning he awoke before his son and contently watched the rise and fall of his chest. The storm had calmed for the morning leaving everything silent except for the soft sound of his son’s breathing. Eventually Izuku returned to the waking world wide green eyes blinking out sleep. His freckles dotted his face like stars on a clear winter’s night.

Soon everything would be perfect. All for One the high god of winter and death, the leader of the wild hunt and hunter of lost souls would have both of his supporting deities. Tomura would become the god of the bitter cold and frostbite who punished the damned after death, a god to be feared and respected. And Izuku sweet Izuku would become the god of the winter celebration and the bringer of the new year who’d lead the worthy to their place in the afterlife, a god to be adored. His beautiful son adored and worshipped as he should be, not the champion of heroes All Might had wanted but as the picture hope and love soft and sweet among harsh winds, protected and safe.

The god pressed a kiss to the top of his son’s head. Izuku was still learning. Soon he’d understand that he was home and that his father only wanted what was best for him. All for One decided to simply enjoy cuddling his son, keeping him warm and safe forever.
