A Happily Ever After

Summary:

“W-what?” Izuku stuttered out. Did his groom not like him? What an awful start to a marriage, his mother would be ashamed. Oh god, it was his body, wasn’t it? He knew he should have-

“Stop muttering.” The alpha growled. Izuku quickly slammed his hands over his mouth, apologizing. Katsuki sighed. “You look fine, idiot. You’re just,” The blonde looked at the omega’s much smaller frame and the height difference between them. “You’re very small.”

Work Text:

The first time the omega met his husband-to-be, the first words out of the blonde’s mouth took him by surprise.

"Why are you so thin?" The prince had asked in a gruff manner. His kingdom was called Draconia, a kingdom run by both dragons and humans. Katsuki wore a blood red cape that matched his piercing eyes. He was tan and fit, tattoos littered his skin. He had piercings and necklaces, and wore brown pants and black boots made for travel. His blonde hair was spiked out, like an explosion. He was an alpha, which made sense considering his fiery and sharp personality. Katsuki's scent was hard to ignore, but pleasant. Caramel and cinnamon, a sweet but spicy combination.

Izuku himself wore something much more flirtatious. Not that he wanted to, but it was expected of omegas. He had pale freckled skin, emerald eyes and short green locks. His outfit was translucent, the green skirt barely hiding anything. The only thing stopping him from being practically nude was earthy green shorts and a stretch of the same fabric across his chest. Izuku also wore jewelry, but his was more for show than actual meaning like Katsuki’s. His scent was like a forest when the sun was just rising. The freshness of dew, the strong scent of pine, and the sweetness of flowers blooming once again. It was strange letting his scent just be, usually he had to have scent patches on.

“Sorry.”

“Don’t be. Seriously, how much do you usually eat a day?” Katsuki grabbed the other’s wrist, startled that his fingers touched.

“Well, um, I’m not sure how it works in your kingdom, but here omegas are supposed to be thin to please their alphas.”

The blonde raised a brow. “Is that what this outfit’s about too?”

Izuku nodded after a moment’s hesitation, scared of answering. Katsuki snorted, to the omega’s shock. “How stupid. Sounds to me like the alphas here don’t know how to provide for an omega, so instead they make them starve themselves.”

Katsuki grabbed Izuku’s face, making emerald and ruby meet. “How are you gonna be able to have a pup being that frail?” Katsuki shook his head again. “How stupid.” He repeated. “Which way is the kitchen? We’re getting you something to eat.”

Izuku stuttered out directions, and finally freed himself from the alpha’s gaze to lead them.

This alpha is strange , Izuku thought as Katsuki sat him down before going to get him food. I don’t understand him, but I will do this if it makes him happy.

“Deku,” Katsuki stormed into the other’s room. “When was the last time you’ve eaten?”

Katsuki had been living in the castle of Planta, Izuku’s kingdom, for the past two months. The blonde insisted on courting Izuku before their marriage. Their parents had granted them 5 months, and the alpha wasted no time. One of the first things Katsuki did was change Izuku’s usual apparel for something more comfortable to Izuku. He now wore green tunics over white shirts, and brown pants and combat boots. He still wore some jewelry, but overall Izuku looked like any beta working at the castle. Not that he minded.

Scent patches were now something Izuku didn’t have to use. Katsuki had insisted that his future husband shouldn’t have to mask his scent unless necessary. Izuku still wore them frequently, but it was nice to know he was doing it because he wanted to.

The third thing the prince of Draconia did was try to get Izuku to eat just a little more, to drink just a little more. And the greenette tried his best, but after years of small portions at every meal, it was hard. Some days he felt like throwing up everything, his mind telling him over and over again that Katsuki wanted a thin, petite omega. But logic had won so far.

“Um,” Izuku said. “At lunch.”

The blonde walked over to Izuku, who had gotten sucked into the work at his desk and forgotten to eat dinner last night. And breakfast this morning. And forgotten to sleep.

Looking at the omega, Katsuki growled. “C’mon nerd, we’re getting you food now.” Katsuki picked the other up and threw him over his shoulder. Izuku sighed, knowing there was no use in arguing.

“Fine, but then I’m going back to my studies.” The greenette pouted.

“Nope. After you eat everything I give you, you’re going to bed.” Whines and protests slipped past the freckled boys lips, but the blonde quickly shut him up. “Be quiet, Deku.

“Kacchan is so rude.”

The other grunted in response, before once again setting him down. After a brunch, Katsuki practically dragged Izuku back to his bedroom and threw him into the plush sheets. Izuku sighed again, deciding to just listen. He sunk into the blankets while Katsuki closed the heavy green curtains. The blonde turned to leave.

“Wait.”

He looked towards the bed, where the omega lay half awake. “Come sleep with me Kacchan.”

Not wanting to disappoint his bride, Katsuki made his way over to the bed. He laid down and pulled the other close. Giving a quick peck to his forehead, the two drifted off.

Izuku looked at himself in the mirror. In a month, he and Katsuki would be wed. He was trying on dresses, the one he thought he would go with was more traditional omega clothing. It was a dress white as snow, with silver accents. It went down to his ankles and swished with his every step. With a sweetheart neckline and long, see-through sleeves that spilled over his arms with lots of extra fabric, he felt pretty in his dress.

It was rare for Izuku to feel pretty. Despite being a prince, most alphas had no interest in him. It was always because he was plain, or boring, or the most likely answer, not thin enough.

He used to cry himself to sleep when people said that. Used to skip meals until he passed out, used to refuse to eat until his mother and step-father pinned him down to the table and force fed him as he sobbed. Used to secretly vomit everything up until one day he was caught by a maid.

He’d gotten better after that, but he was never great. But when Katsuki came, Izuku realized, there had been more improvement than ever before.

Izuku pinched his own freckled cheek, making it turn a brighter shade of pink. He’d definitely been gaining weight.

He wasn’t too sure how to feel about it. Katsuki had told him to eat, right? He wanted Izuku to gain weight.

That didn’t stop Izuku from hearing a little voice in the back of his head though, telling him that he had grown to be disgusting and that no alpha could love an omega like him.

“Hey.”

Izuku shrieked, turning around to see the blonde. He pouted, slapping his arm gently. “You scared me.”

Katsuki chuckled. “I could tell.” Red eyes scanned up and down the omega’s body, before returning to his own emerald pools. “You look gorgeous.”

The shorter male felt breathless at the simple comment. “Isn’t it bad luck to see the bride in their dress before the wedding?” Izuku teased, turning his back to his soon to be husband to look in the mirror. Katsuki snorted in response, wrapping arms around the greenette’s waist and resting his chin on a freckled shoulder.

“Don’t really care about that.” Katsuki grumbled. “And how could I stay away from you? No, you’re too pretty to ignore.”

Izuku tried to ignore the pink he knew was on his face, and got lost in thought as a peaceful silence stayed between the two. Katsuki broke it first, his brows knitted together and a scowl on his face. “Why are you frowning, love?”

Izuku was too surprised at the fact that he was frowning to recognize the pet name. He hummed, before remembering his train of thought. “Kacchan,” Izuku said, suddenly interested in looking at the floor. “Do you actually think I’m pretty?”

Katsuki stiffened, before pulling the omega even closer to him. “Of course I think you’re pretty. You’re drop dead gorgeous.” The alpha growled. “Why, did someone tell you otherwise? I’ll kill them.”

A soft chuckle escaped Izuku’s lips. “That’s a lot of people to kill, Kacchan.”

A wave of pity and sadness went through Katsuki’s eyes before disappearing. He pressed a kiss to the omega’s shoulder, before trailing up his neck to his forehead.

“I love you. Everything about you. I love you so, so much. Never doubt that, Deku.”

His only response was a hum.

Deep breaths. Deep breaths.

Today. It was today.

Izuku would be married to Katsuki today.

Butterflies filled his stomach as he focused on his breathing. Freckled hands squeezed the bouquet of pink roses and baby’s breath. Izuku looked at himself once more in the mirror.

The same white and silver dress covered pale skin. A flower crown with matching colors to his bouquet sat on top of his green curls. Adjusting the flowers in his hands, he just tried to keep breathing.

A knock sounded at the door, to which Izuku replied with a hum. In stepped his step father, Toshinori. The alpha wore a simple black suit with a blue tie to match his eyes. Toshinori smiled at his son. “You look good. I’m sure Katsuki will think so as well.” Izuku only nodded, scared if he tried to speak he’s throw up.

“Are you ready to go? Everyone’s waiting for the beautiful bride.”

“...okay.” Izuku whispered.

Deep breaths. Deep breaths.

The greenette didn’t remember his walk to the ceremony. He was too busy focusing one his breathing to hear the whispers of those he passed and the feeling of Toshinori’s hand on his wrist, guiding him.

But all the breathing didn’t matter, because the second he saw Katsuki he was breathless.

The blonde’s kingdom certainly dressed differently. He wore a red cape, similar to the one he wore everyday, except this one had gold accents. Black pants with a gold chain to match the chain piercing on his face. Brown boots went just below his knee, and a sword hung on his hip. A golden crown that mimicked leaves rested on his blonde spikes. Though the man still seemed to have an allergy to shirts.

Red eyes matched green, and urged him to come towards them. And Izuku obeyed.

After what felt like eternity as the pastor went on and on with recited lines that the two lovers only half listened to, they sealed their promise to each other with a soft kiss.

Their families and friends cheered, and the greenette locked eyes with his husband, who’s hands still held his own.

Deep breaths. Deep breaths.

*✭˚・゚✧*・゚*✭˚・゚✧*・゚*

The walk back to their bedroom was filled with uncertainty. Not because they were sharing a bed, no, they started that a few months before. But most people, including their own parents, were expecting the newlyweds to mate tonight.

It wasn’t required of them, and it wasn’t exactly shunned if the couple didn’t, but most lovers did. The two had endured a night of innuendos followed by locking eyes with each other and shifting in their seats.

Izuku wasn’t sure he wanted to have sex with Katsuki. And he didn’t know what was going through the alpha’s head.

Once in the bedroom, the omega turned towards his husband, only to be hit in the face with a pile of soft clothing. He yelled in surprise.

“Relax. Go change, I’m sure you’re as tired as I am.” Nodding, Izuku began to strip himself, only to be stopped. “I lied. Let me help you.”

“I can do it by myself.” Izuku pouted as Katsuki finished pulling off his dress and crown.

“I know. Stupid alpha instincts telling me to take care of my mate.”

Both blushed at the words, and stayed in a somewhat comfortable silence as Katsuki finished dressing Izuku. No words were spoken as the greenette moved to help the blonde, who surprisingly let him. Now that both were in soft clothing, they moved to the bed and faced each other.

“Kacchan?” Izuku asked finally.

“Yeah?”

“Do you, um, wanna mate tonight?”

“Do you?”

Izuku shook his head as best as he could while lying down. That drew a laugh out of Katsuki. “I don’t want to either. Maybe in the future.” The omega nodded. Slowly, the two inched closer together. Soft kisses were pressed to each others’ faces. Katsuki trailed down to his neck, before his lips rested over his scent gland.

“Can I?” Katsuki asked gently.

“Yes. God, yes.” Izuku whispered. Fangs sunk into his neck, and the omega let out a moan of pain and pleasure. The blonde licked the mark to stop blood from spilling everywhere, and Izuku sunk his smaller fangs in Katsuki’s neck once the blood stopped.

Once both adorned new mating marks, they shared a laugh and held each other in their arms.

“I love you.” Katsuki said finally with confidence.

Izuku almost started crying right then and there. Instead, he pushed his body as close as he could to his husband’s and rested his head in the crook of his neck. Their scents mixed together, cinnamon and pine, caramel and flowers. Izuku had never felt more at peace, never felt this happy. If Kacchan could love him, maybe he could learn to love himself.

“I love you too, Kacchan.”
