Work Text:
Hawks was typically full of energy, much to Enji’s annoyance, he couldn’t seem to stay still for three seconds. So it was unusual for the winged hero to walk through the door of his home office (instead of climbing through the window as usual) and laying down face first on the couch.
“Are you alright?” Enji asked him.
“Yeah.” Hawks groaned into the couch cushion. He certainly didn’t sound alright.
“Are you injured?”
“No. M’fine.”
“You really don’t seem fine.” Enji stood up from his chair and walked around to sit on the edge of his desk, closer to the blonde laying on his couch. “Surely you don’t plan on patrolling in this state?”
“I can do it, just gimme a minute.” He mumbled.
“Hawks.” Enji said sternly. “What’s going on?”
The blonde lifted his head a bit, looking him in the eyes. His eyeliner was smudged, Enji noticed. “I’m just… it’s stupid.”
“I’m sure it’s not.”
Hawks sighed. “I’m… on my period.” He admitted sheepishly.
Oh. Enji hadn’t known that he was trans, but it didn’t matter. What’s in your pants doesn’t affect your ability to do your job, unless of course it’s causing you pain. “I see.”
“I’m on T, obviously, but it still happens sometimes. Like I said, it’s stupid.”
Enji cleared his throat. “Do you need any… supplies? I’m sure my sidekicks have something you could use.”
Hawks rolled his eyes. “I have my own tampons, Endeavor.”
“Y-yes, of course you do.”
“We can still patrol. Just lemme rest for a second.”
“No.”
“What?”
“You’re clearly in pain. You won’t be much help to me like this.”
“But-”
“No buts.” He effortlessly lifted the smaller man into his arms. Hawks made a noise of surprise (and probably pain at being moved, but it couldn’t be helped).
“Oh, well look at you, you big strong hero!” He teased, wrapping his arms around Enji’s shoulders and leaning his face against his chest. “Oh, wow, you’re warm.” He whispered.
“Shut up.” Enji growled, trying to ignore the way his heart fluttered at the touch.
“Where are we going?” Hawks asked as Enji carried him out of the room.
“My bedroom. You should rest somewhere more comfortable.” Enji said bluntly.
“Ohhh, I see.” He giggled.
“Hawks, shut up or I will drop you on the floor.”
“Aww, you don’t mean that.” He didn’t.
“Your bed is so big!” Hawks gasped. Enji had never thought about it, he’d grown up rich after all, but he supposed it was. He shifted Hawk’s weight onto one arm and pulled back the covers to gently set him down on the sheets. “Ooh, it’s soft too.”
“Take off your shoes, you’re not getting my bed dirty.”
Hawks obediently kicked his boots off, sending them flying haphazardly across the room. Enji sighed. “You couldn’t just take them off normally?”
“Nope!” Hawks grinned. With the assistance of his feathers, he removed his jacket and tossed it away as well. He lay down and pulled the blankets over himself.
“Are you comfortable?” Enji was already regretting indulging him this much.
“Mhm~” He snuggled into the pillows, and he looked so small and… cute?
Enji looked away. “Do you need anything else? A cup of tea-” A hand wrapped around his arm. He turned back to see Hawks looking at him with puppy-dog eyes.
“Can you cuddle with me?”
“...what?” That was the last thing he was expecting.
“You’re all warm cause of your quirk. Helps with cramps.”
“I’m not going to cuddle with you. I have work to do.”
“Aww, please? Just for a little bit?”
“Hawks…” God damn it, he really couldn’t say no to him. “...fine. Five minutes, then I have to work.” He looked at his watch, taking note of the time.
“Yay!” Hawks pulled him into the bed by his arm. Enji slipped his shoes off, leaving them next to the bed because he was a normal person, and lay down next to Hawks. The smaller man wrapped his arms (and wings) around him, nuzzling into his warmth. After a moment of internal conflict, Enji lifted his hand and stroked Hawks’ windswept hair, scratching his scalp gently with his blunt nails. Hawks sighed happily and snuggled closer to him, his feathers twitching happily.
After a few minutes Hawk’s breathing had slowed. Enji wasn’t sure if he was asleep yet or just on the edge of it, but he didn’t want to disturb him either way. He glanced at his watch. It had been more than the five minutes he promised. He looked down at Hawks’ head on his chest, his feathers tucked against his peaceful face. Somehow, staying here with him was much more appealing than the paperwork waiting on his desk. He sighed and returned to playing with his hair. Work could wait.
