Work Text:
Chuuya never wanted to come back here, he hated that he was here now, in a lone, private park owned by the Port Mafia. He sat in a white colored iron chair, a small round table between him and his former Boss, Mori. Both at the moment sat in silence, while the dark haired man had a relaxed posture, a relaxed smile, Chuuya could feel the underline intent of wanting payback for his betrayal. The smile didn't fool him, his eyes gave away everything. Or at least now Chuuya could see what intentions they gave away, he wasn't blinded by undying loyalty anymore. Next to Mori stood his Ane-san, her expression unreadable, blank almost. While both would have loved to great each other in a friendly manner, Chuuya refused to put her in danger like that, so they both remained tense. Next to him was Nicki, the woman stood straight, her arms folded behind her back, her eyes narrowed into a glare. While Chuuya did not want to be here, there was only one reason why he was meeting with Mori.
Rick. He had been kidnapped, Nicki had came to him the following day at the modeling agency, bruised and bloodied. They had apparently been ambushed by the King's Men, Rick had sacrificed himself in order for her to get away and warn Chuuya of what had happened. The redhead felt his stomach drop when she delivered the news, he felt angry, his temper flaring. He had almost said fuck it and went to go track them down to bring their friend back. But he knew that if he did that, he would be playing right into the hands of the people who wanted to capture him. Nicki had done well in reminding him that he could very well get himself and many others killed if he had just followed his anger and impulsive thinking. She reminded him that he could technically ask the ADA for help, after all, Kunikida had said they would if he ever asked. But the ginger refused to get them anymore involved with the King's Men then they already were.
While he hated to admit it...he knew there was one group who probably already knew so much about the King's Men and had the means to stop them. Which was how he found himself here now, sitting across from Mori with a cup of tea in front of them both. The dark haired man easily sipped at his tea, but Chuuya was far from stupid, he refused to touch his own cup. Now Chuuya didn't want to assume that Mori had Kouyou poisoned his tea, but he knew better then to completely trust Mori. He had told Mori what happened with Nicki and Rick, the man had listened intently, leaned back in his seat. Chuuya hated this, he hated the man's relaxed and nonchalant composure.
"Who would have thought we would find ourselves in this situation? A traitor coming back to his former work place asking for assistance. You know I could just kill you right here and now, and be done with everything."
"Try it and see what happens." Nicki threatened, both her and Kouyou tensing up immediately , Chuuya sighed, turning his head slightly to look at Nicki, when their eyes met the woman relaxed, looking away from him for a moment before looking back at Mori who chuckled at her words. If course the man wouldn't actually find her or see her as a threat. Why would he? There was a reason why he was the boss of the Port Mafia, the man was very intelligent.
"However, the King's Men are also posing a problem for the Port Mafia much like they are posing a threat to any and all Ability users. But I don't see the benefit in helping you in particular to find your friend. What is in it for me, my dear, dear Chuuya?"
The ginger shuddered at those words. His eyes narrowed into a dark glare, but Mori remained unaffected by the look. They sat there again in silence as Chuuya wracked his brain for what could Mori possibly want in order for him to help him get Rick back. There was only two things Chuuya could think of, one, he could allow the Port Mafia to take him in and punish him as they saw fit for his betrayal. Option two, he could return to them and do their bidding as they saw fit. And Mori knew these were the options, had he maybe planned this? It wouldn't be too far out in the realm of reality.
"I wont make you make a choice right now. But I think we both know what your options are-"
"I'll do what I have to if it means getting Rick back. Hes been through shit enough. I don't want him to be sold or given away like he's some sort of animal." Chuuya cut in, though his gaze was locked onto his untouched tea cup. He didn't want to come back to the Port Mafia, he never wanted to come back to them. But what choice did he have in this situation? Rick was his friend, his Ani-san. That man had helped him so much during his time away from Yokohama and had helped him a lot with his Modeling agency. How could he just leave him in the hands of people who clearly were up to no good? Chuuya would do anything for his friends and family. And to him, Rick was both of those things. "I'll do what you want, just help me get him back."
Mori smiled, nodding as he looked to Kouyou, the two said as he stood up. "Very well. We will come back to pick you up tomorrow evening. It's good to have you back, Chuuya. We all missed you greatly." With that he turned and made his way out of the park to the black colored cars waiting for him and his second in command. Kouyou looked to Chuuya, a look of guilt in her eyes before she too turned and followed her boss.
"Chuuya-"
"He's going to hate me," he said quickly, Nicki blinked for a moment confused as to who he could be referring to. But it didn't take her long to figure it out, he meant Kunikida, she could see by the shaking of his hands and how he kept his head ducked low that he meant eye blond haired Detective he had grown close to over the past few months. "I'm not good enough for people, Nicki. I'm not made for these....relationships I keep getting into. Or the people I keep falling for."
There was guilt pooling in the pit of her stomach. She had lied to Chuuya about what had happened, she had said they had been ambushed but in reality, she had lead Rick to that ambush and got him captured. She only got away because she too worked for the King's Men. Something she wasn't proud of, but something she needed to do if she wished to be reunited with someone she loved so deeply. Stephen had promised to bring back the love of her life. But she often wondered, was that even possible? He promised her that it was, that he knew an ability user who could bring her back. It was that promise that lead to her joining, that lead to her betraying the man before her who had done nothing but help her. "I'm with you every step of the way, Chuuya. No matter what happens." Another lie, one that made her chest tighten.
The said former Mafia Executive only nodded before he got to his feet. "Head on back to the shop. I'll meet you there later." He didnt give her much time to answer before he started to walk away. He needed some time go clear his head, to come to terms with what he was about to do. The man looked down at his phone sometime later when he found himself at the docks of the city. The sun was setting, casting the sky into hues of orange, red and purple.
To: Doppo
I'm sorry. I didn't ever want this to happen. I never wanted go be dragged back into that life. But I'm not very good at staying out of trouble, it seems.
From: Doppo
What are you talking about? What are you sorry for? Did something happen? Do you need help? Tell me where you are, I'm coming for you.
Chuuya stared at that last message, a sad smile on his face as he shook his head.
To: Doppo
I'm sorry, Doppo. I'm sorry.
With that he turned the phone off, and placed it on the rock before turning on his heel and walking away back to his home. He might as well start packing or burning things. Because tomorrow evening, he would be dragged back to Port Mafia HQ.

"Why didn't you tell him?" Kouyou asked as she and Mori sat in luxurious red chairs, both of them staring out at the city before them, a glass of wine in hand. "Why didn't you tell him that Nicki was setting him up?"
The man for a long moment said nothing, he kept his violet colored eyes trained on the setting sun. Eventually the man allowed his eyes to fall closed as he rested his cheek on his knuckles. "Simple. Because he needs to learn to stop giving away his trust so easily. And it benefits us. We not only get rid of the King's Men, but we gain back one of our most valuable assets. Shouldn't you be happy to have your brother back?"
"Your keeping him as a prisoner, no better then how you have Q right now." She argued, though her tone remained calm as ever. But she would be lying if she said that his laugh didn't make her want to stab him.
"Something is better then nothing."
