Sero stepped out of the elevator, clad only in his sleep pants and a light tank top, making his way to the kitchen for a glass of water. He walked through the darkened common room, not bothering to turn on the light in his sleepy daze until a small crash in the kitchen snapped him out of it. Immediately on high alert he crouched and silently made his way over to the kitchen doorway. Ready for attack the black haired student peaked his head in, but instead of seeing some villain he saw one of his fellow classmates.
They stood off to the side, underneath an open window, as they quietly cussed out a plastic shopping bag that had ripped through the bottom. Sero stood up to his full height and took a step to stand in the doorway. He smirked as he leaned against the doorway and watched the teen struggle before him, “Whatcha up to there, y/n?”
On cue the struggling teen froze in place, making no sound as they slowly turned their head to look the tall boy in the eyes, “Ummm… Nothing?”
Sero snorted, he crossed his arms in front of his chest like he was disciplining a small child, “Bullshit. What was so important that you snuck out for?”
The other didn’t answer him, preferring to stand frozen like an animal hunted for prey.
“You aren't a druggie are you?”
“No! No, no,” The inspiring hero immediately responded, wide eyed, “I ummm… Don’t laugh at me ok?”
Sero just raised his eyebrows in response, amazingly stone faced as he struggled to keep down a smile that tugged at the corners of his lips. His clumsy classmate proceeded to shuffle to the side, revealing the fact that they held two large baguettes and multiple wrapped sticks of butter were scattered across the ground. To say that reveal made Sero ask a few more questions would be a huge understatement.
“Umm… What?”
“I'm not crazy! I promise!” The embarrassed teen waved their hands around. Well, as much as they could holding two baguettes and a half full bag of groceries, as if their flailing waved away all of his questions. “So, umm… I got hungry, right? And I was- I was really craving some garlic bread but we didn’t have any materials to make garlic bread! So I-”
“Wait- wait, wait,” Sero cut them off as he shook his head, trying to make sense of this already confusing situation. “You’re telling me that you snuck out of a high security facility to get ingredients for garlic bread because you had a midnight craving?!”
“...Yes?”
He couldn't have helped himself. He snorted, trying to keep his amusement at bay but that soon failed as he broke out into full body laughter. As he doubled over on himself, he heard his classmate huff out in frustration, he imagined them crossing their arms and tapping their foot in annoyance.
“Hey! It’s not- it’s not that funny!”
Breathing deep to calm himself he finally looked up at his classmate, as he thought, they were pouting. As he wiped tears from his eyes, he finally stood back up to his full height as the shorter teen pouted in front of him. “Sorry, sorry. It kinda is though.”
“Well if you’re going to laugh at me then you don't get any of my garlic bread!”
He played along with their upset act, throwing his hands up in surrender, “Fine, I’ll stop laughing. And hey, I’ll even help you make it! To make up for laughing at you of course.”
Breaking their glumm act they smiled up at him, “Great! Let’s get started!”

The tape hero set down a fresh plate garlic bread into the table, watching his classmate quickly grab one and shove it into their mouth. Choosing not to say anything he sat down too, sitting across from them he smiled, grabbing a piece of his own.
“What?” Hearing a voice from across the table he snapped back to reality, realizing he was staring at them.
“Sorry, umm,” Seeing a few crumbs scattered across their lower lip he pointed to his own lips, using it as an excuse for his staring. “You got some crumbs right here-”
Putting their piece of bread down they grabbed a napkin wiping at the corner or their lips, “Here?”
“No, no. Here, I’ll get it,” Standing up he leaned across the table, thankful for his height for once in his life. Leaning on one of his hands he softly grabbed his classmates chin with his other. Tilting their head up, he looked for any uncertainty in their eyes before tilting his own head to the side and crashing their lips together. He darted his tongue out at the last moment, licking up the crumbs painting his love interest's bottom lip, before pulling back. He began to stutter as he looked them in the eyes, worried he made the wrong move, “S-sorry, you just are so- and you-”
The teen below him gave him no more time to speak as they grabbed him by the back of his head and crashed their lips back together again with even more intensity. This time it was the object of his affections that darted their tongue out to lick across his lip. Breaking apart they both panted, not expecting the sudden intense kiss.
Without skipping a beat his classmate smiled up at him, chuckling under their breath, “You taste like garlic bread.”
As the sun just started to filter in through the windows both teens laughed, openly and freely, not caring if they woke anyone up. Happy to start a new chapter of their life. Who knew that garlic bread could be such a good wingman?
