It all starts with one simple joke.
Kaminari simply doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut - he flirts with his classmates, with girls from other faculties, and even promises to kiss one of the teachers at graduation when he gets drunk.
So, simply saying, there are no barriers for Kaminari's flirtation.
People often laugh in his face, roll their eyes in response to his pick-up lines, or pretend not to understand. Denki got used to any reaction. So, when he sees Bakugou's winter costume, he cannot help but say: "I hope someone dies soon, because damn you look in black."
And only after that, he understands what and to whom he just fucking said.
There are several problems in this situation:
1. He wished that someone Bakugou knows would die.
2. He flirted with Bakugou.
3. Bakugou knows how to professionally blow up people's faces.
So, Kaminari is scared for his life.
Everyone immediately fall silent and wait for Katsuki's reaction.
Bakugou slowly turns around and stares at Denki. He doesn’t come closer, doesn’t yell, doesn’t explode the fire in his face. Bakugou simply turns back and drags Kirishima with him to keep training. Kaminari cannot breathe normally for several minutes.
From that day, Denki begins to slowly trying to find the line, crossing which he will be left without a face. Kaminari saves all the best jokes and pick-up lines for later, when the five of them go to lunch.
"I don’t know which is tastier, this cake or you."
Everyone laughs at the table.
To the great surprise of absolutely everyone, Bakugou never yells or gets angry at the Denki's flirt. To the usual jokes - yes, of course, "shut the fuck up, Pikachu."
But pick-up lines? Katsuki has no smile, no embarrassment or anger on his face. Kaminari doesn't understand what's going on with the Bakugou.
On the night from Friday to Saturday, Kaminari can't fall asleep. He and Sero play video games in the living room until one o'clock in the morning, when Aizawa tells them to go back to their rooms.
Kaminari doesn’t want to sleep, he wants to continue hanging out, the night is still young!
So, ten minutes later, he knocks on the Bakugou's door.
"What the fuck are you doing here?", - Katsuki doesn't shout. He gets angry, of course, and snaps, but quietly, so as not to wake others up.
"I can't sleep.", - Denki doesn't need no alcohol, because the night is always more intoxicating (like the half-naked Bakugou that is standing right in front of him).
"And what the fuck do I got to do with it?".
Kaminari suddenly wants to talk.
"Tell me, what is happening to you!", - Denki is a little bit afraid of Bakugou, but who isn't? How can you calmly be near a person who at any moment can punch you, and then yell again and say that you yourself ran into it?
That's kinda why Denki doesn't understand why he suddenly feels brave.
"What happens to me is that I'm fucking trying to fall asleep, and you is fucking getting in my fucking way!", - the door is already almost slamming in Kaminari's face, when he suddenly says: "I lost my teddy bear, can you sleep with me instead of him?". Seconds later, Denki is grabbed by the shirt and pushed inside.
"That's what I'm talking about!", - Kaminari hisses as he is pushed through the door that has closed behind him. - "Why do you react so strangely to my flirting?".
Bakugou's nostrils flare, he breathes too hard.
"How the fuck should I react?"
"I don't know, as usual? Yell at me and get angry?"
Katsuki looks like the Kaminari has done an incredibly stupid thing right now - people only look that way at young children who say that two times two makes five - a little disappointed and tired.
In one second, Kaminari understands the whole thing.
"Are you afraid to hurt me?", - Denki hardly believes himself.
Bakugou Katsuki, who wishes to die to everyone and constantly says that he is better than others - this Bakugo Katsuki is afraid of hurting his feelings by responding to a lousy flirtation?
Bakugou Katsuki has a beating heart somewhere inside. Kaminari smiles as he thinks about it.
"But it was just the jokes! It's not like I like you or something, so you wouldn't offend me, if you told me to go fuck myself!"
Bakugou's gaze changes from disappointed to questioning.
"It didn't look like a joke."
"Why?"
"Because you only fucking flirt with me."
"What? But I' don't-"
He does. Kaminari understands that yes, he does. Without even realizing it, Kaminari made Bakugou his main and only goal. He still clung closer to Sero or hugged Kirishima, but he did it only when Bakugou wasn't around.
Katsuki really became the only one to whom Kaminari dedicated all his flirtation and pick-up lines.
"But I am not-"
Is he really not in love with Bakugou? Hasn't Kaminari really thought about why it is so important for him to get a reaction from Katsuki? Why would it be easier to hear a scream and anger than an indefinite silence and long looks?
Denki understands.
"But you never asked me to stop".
Bakugou isn't embarrassed, he simply doesn't know how does it even feel. Bakugou wasn't going to initially indulge other people's pride, by being embarrassed or by blushing and showing the reaction that Denki was seeking.
Bakugou is able to speak directly because it is 'masculine', like Kirishima likes to say.
"No one flirts with me except you. It kinda feels nice".
And that's it. This one small phrase makes Kaminari blush and hold his breath. It makes him to do everything that he so desperately wanted Bakugou to do.
They stand close, Kaminari with his back pressed against the door, and Bakugou pressing against him. For some reason Kaminari is no longer afraid.
"So, are you still sleeping with toys?"
Denki sees for the first time a slight half-smile on Bakugou's face. This sight is so rare and inaccessible to the majority that he wants to keep this moment only for himself, not telling anyone about it.
"I'm always down to trying something new".
Kaminari doesn't sleep with toys, and Bakugou doesn't show his feelings to strangers. But tonight they both destroy all of their "not".
Sleeping in Bakugou's hug is hot, but pleasant and comfortable. It's embarrassing to talk about your feelings, but the result is worth it.
There's so much more pick-up lines in Kaminari's head, that it will be enough for more than two years of their hero course study.
And one day, Denki really believes in it, Bakugou will answer them.
Kaminari will wait.
