Tsumina deserves more.

So this story will be short, and will have small chapters. I didn't want to put the whole thing in a single chapter, so here it is! This story was also written as a thread on my Twitter, feel free to check it out: @DYNARI0TS.

Chapter Text

It felt like hours passing by, sitting in the same classroom and staring at the chalkboard, not paying attention to most of what was being written and said out of Aizawa’s mouth.

Mina was lovestruck. and had been for a while now, probably a few months? Just starting a week and a half ago, she couldn’t bottle up her feelings towards Tsuyu anymore.

It all started with their friendship, of course. It was obvious to the rest of 1A that Tsuyu and Mina were one of the stronger pairs of best friends in the class.

The two of them, always stayed by each others side, during training and even going together on internships. Ashido’s feelings grew strong, she found herself often getting flustered whenever she got Tsuyu’s attention.

Even then, she also got weird feelings of... jealousy. Yeah. Jealousy. Aside from mina, Tsuyu was also really close with another classmate of theirs: Ochako Uraraka.

Mina already knew Ochako has romantic feelings towards Izuku, but the pink girl gets awfully irked whenever she overhears any of the plans both Tsuyu and Ochako make.

She wants to be Ochako in those situations.

And now here she was, borderline in a few classes (just barely passing), gazing at Tsuyu. Oh, how beautiful she was. Shining, dark green, long hair and those wide, dark brown eyes.

Her cheeks had a little puff to them, which Mina always giggled at. She found it absolutely adorable. The way Tsuyu would bring her finger up to her own lip and tilt her head whenever she was confused.

The way Tsuyu smiles, the flattering blush that often forms at those chubby cheeks. Mina gasped silently and slapped her own cheeks, only just realizing that she was strongly burning up.

Unfortunately, the sound of the slap brought attention to her. and that’s when she caught Kirishima’s gaze. that’s it! Kirishima was already in a relationship with Bakugou.

He would be the ideal source for confession advice! Mina smiled a little to herself as the classes’ attention slowly went back to the front of the room.

Mina would be seeing Kirishima after class.

“Kirishima! Ei!” Mina called out after the redhead, who had his earbuds plugged in, heading towards the school building's exit.

Slowly coming to a stop as he heard his name being called, he took his earbuds off and turned around.

“Hey Ashido!” he greeted his best friend, Mina finally catching up, breathing heavily as she tried to catch her breath.

“Gosh, Kiri! How the hell do you walk so fast...? Class ended like five minutes ago. Anyway, I have a favor to ask of you!” she exclaimed in her sugar sweet voice.

“I’ll help with anything, what’s up?” Kirishima asked as he shoved his phone deep into his pocket.

“U-umm... well-“ Mina felt herself stuttering. Was she really ready to tell anyone about her having a crush on Tsuyu? Kirishima would be fine with it—but her other insecurities, doubts started flooding in.

“I just need some a-advice! You see, I have a crush on... Tsu.” she finished her sentence with a sigh.

“Tsu! as in Tsuyu?” Kirishima’s mouth was wide open in shock, but not the bad kind of shock. It was the surprised-but-happy kind. “I assume you need help telling her if you came to find me?” he brought a hand to the back of his neck and rubbed, frankly feeling quite good about this and himself.

Someone had actually come to Kirishima for love advice.

“Yeah, that’s the favor I’m asking. I’ve liked her for so long, Eiji, the way she talks to me, the way Tsuyu acknowledges me, it feels so different from the others. I kind of have the feeling that she could like me back.” Mina explained, sounding more frantic than relaxed.

The redhead nodded and set a hand on Mina’s shoulder. “I’ll help. let’s talk as we go on our way home. we can stop at the park, or something!” he suggested, and she smiled and nodded. Kirishima was a great friend—and wingman.

By the time the two of them walked out of the school building, the majority of the campus had already been empty. They talked for so long in the halls, both Kirishima and Mina losing track of time.

“Alright,” Kirishima started. “First off let’s start with what you’re afraid of. What do you think will happen when you confess?”

“Rejection, obviously.” Mina mumbled, but she knew that there was more to that. So did Kirishima, after all, this was similar to when he gained a crush on Bakugou.

“I’m also scared that she’s probably already dating Ochako, or something. maybe even Tokoyami. Sh-she’s so close with others. Often, I can’t even tell if I’m just a regular friend or a best friend to her!” the pink girl rambled.

“Hmmm... well the part where she’s dating Ochako—I’m a hundred percent sure that isn’t true. Ochako’s been more blushy-blushy around Midoriya-kun, if anything.” he shrugged. “The Tokoyami part is a little random, but I understand why you think that. Tsuyu is randomly partnered up with him sometimes.

“Knowing Tsuyu, even I can see that she treats you quite differently from everyone else she’s friends with; in a good way of course.” He smiled. Mina perked up, her gaze going to Kirishima now.

“Wait, really? You see it too?” she asked in awe.

“Mhm. Tsuyu is generous and caring. Stays nice with everyone, whether she knows them or not.” Kirishima began to smile a little, feeling Mina’s happiness radiate from where he was walking alongside her.

“—but with you, she looks more flustered than she would regularly be. She also seems so... gentle, like she wants to take care of you!” the redhead exclaimed joyfully.

Ashido froze a little at this. She took a second to think about what Kirishima had just explained. Did Tsuyu really think of Mina like that? Tsuyu seemed so out of her league, too, even if they were best friends; she couldn’t help but think that way.

Kirishima eyed mina for a moment, a worried look on his face. “Alright, tell you what. Me and Bakugou were planning a date to the arcade next Friday, why don’t you tag along, and ask if Tsuyu can come? It’ll be a great way to bond... even though I know Bakugou will not be happy about it. I’ll manage.” he chuckled lightly.

Mina’s eyes lit up, and she happily smiled at Kirishima. “You would really do that?” the redhead nodded, a sharp-toothed smile on his face.

“Kirishima, you’re an amazing friend.” Mina gushed, and he couldn’t help but feel flattered.

Kirishima was a good friend.

A week had /finally/ passed. It was friday, and Mina was really, really nervous.

The pink girl had just gotten out of school, and she had talked during breakfast hours with Kirishima for what time the four of them (Kirishima, Bakugou, Mina, and Tsuyu) would be going out.

From what mina had remembered, they would be meeting up at the town’s arcade at 6:00 PM. now, all Mina needed to do was... ask Tsuyu.

Her heart started to beat, and her face began to flush again—but out of nervousness this time. if Tsuyu said no, things would surely become awkward.

Mina shook her head and refused to overthink about this situation, it was really pretty much nothing. just ask Tsuyu to attend the arcade with her, Kirishima, and Bakugou.

It's basically asking hero out. The voice in mina’s head spoke, and she froze. Why was she this oblivious? Now she would just have to suck it up and do it. the plans were already made, and there was no turning back.

•••

Tsuyu was walking home with Ochako that day, listening to the girl talk about how flustered she gets with Izuku, and how she wants to fix that.

Unfortunately, Tsuyu didn’t have much advice for that, because she wasn’t too sure about how to talk to guys in general.

She had always found herself around girls, anyway; and quite frankly it was incredibly rare for her to catch feelings. The only girl she really felt something around was mina, but Tsuyu didn’t want to ruin their friendship.

The short girl was too generous to do such a thing. It probably wouldn’t have worked out, anyway.

“Tsu-chan, my house is at the next corner, I'll have to get going!” Ochako exclaimed, smiling softly at Tsuyu. Tsuyu nodded and smiled back, bringing her index finger up to her chin.

“Kero, see you on Monday, Uraraka-san.” she spoke as she waved to Ochako, before the brunette girl turned around and parted ways with her friend.

Right as she was about to turn, Tsuyu found herself bumping right into mina, face to the girl’s chest because of her short height, making her fluster up and hop back a bit.

Mina gasped and hid her face, the two reacting quite awkwardly for what had just happened.

What an amazing start, Mina! she told herself sarcastically, making her groan. There was an awkward silence, and Tsuyu was the first to break it.

“Mina, what are you doing here? Is there something you need?” Asui tried not to show the faint blush that dusted her cheeks, not aware that it was quite more visible than she thought it was. mina found it cute.

“U-umm... yeah, actually! I don’t really need anything—but—I was wondering if you’d like to go to the ar-arcade with me. Kirishima and Bakugou are going, too! we’re sorta-kinda-maybe going to be,” Mina tried to steer away from saying ‘double date’, “crashing their date!”

Yeah, that's the right word.

Tsuyu tilted her head a little bit. “is Kirishima-kun and Bakugou-kun okay with that?” she blinked and asked in a polite tone. Mina's heart squeezed from just how generous she was.

“Of course! they’re both okay with it, but don’t be surprised if Bakugou starts acting pissy!” Mina giggled at the very thought, and just seeing Mina smile made Tsuyu laugh along with her.

“Kero, okay Mina, I will go. what time will it be taking place?”

“6:00 PM!”

“Alright, it’s a date. I will call your phone when I’m ready.”

Mina smiled generously and went along her way before pausing.

She had finally processed what Tsuyu had finally said. “W-wait-!” Mina turned around to ask Tsuyu something, but the frog girl had already hopped away, excited for later afternoon.
