Getaway Driver

Summary:

All his life, everybody told him that he couldn't be a hero, but nobody said anything about being a getaway driver!

Notes:

I had this stuck in my head and couldn't get it out, so I typed this up. It's not great, but it's out of my head and I think it's funny.

Shigaraki’s pov, USJ:

Dammit, dammit!

What happened?! The plan was perfect! Wait for the wannabe heroes and final boss to show up, warp in, give a little speech- no Kurogiri, I was not monologuing- and separate the brats for the npc’s to deal with while Nomu took care of the final boss, simple. But did that happen? No! All because that musclebound blockhead didn’t even bother to show up until most of the mooks were already taken care of!

Whatever, at least we still have Nom-

“PLUS, ULTRAAAA!!!!”

…nevermind

You know what? I’m not even surprised anymore. And it’s not like we can just warp out of here, that load brat with the explosions still had an unconscious Kurogiri pinned.
As much as I hated to admit we lost, they had our way out trapped.

Well, one of them.

Discretely hitting the button on father, I waited for a few moments before I heard it.

In the distance, the sound of shattering glass seemed to get everyone’s attention as a large armored truck came barreling through the side of the dome-and several buildings- before making its way to the main area, somehow managing to hit the blond brat with just enough force to knock him into the air, and send Kurogiri tumbling towards me, both somehow unharmed.

As soon as the vehicle stopped, the trunk door was thrown open by a familiar green haired figure in a mask.

“What are you doing!? Stop standing around and get in already!”

Smirking at the heroes shocked faces, I quickly grabbed Kurogiri and threw him into the truck before getting in myself.

We might have failed, but the looks on their faces as we sped away were definitely worth it.

Izuku’s pov:

My name is Izuku Midoriya, and I like cars.
I like to take them apart, I like to build them, and I like to repair them. But most of all, I love to drive them. I don’t know why, but ever since I started-without my mother knowing, of course- getting behind them wheel just felt…right. Like nothing else in the world matters as long as I can drive. I felt…free

Ah, sorry, getting a bit off track. I guess that I should mention that I’m also a getaway driver?

I know, I know, it’s pretty shocking, but it’s not like I wanted to be a getaway driver! My mom’s sick, and since I’m only fourteen I can’t get a job to help with bills. Well, not a legal one at least.
My first job actually kind of started out as an accident.

I was taking a break from driving across from a bank when some random guy got in my car, held a gun to my head and told me to drive. So I did.

What? Did you expect me not to? He had a gun!!! What was I going to do? Talk him to death?

Anyways, after the whole fiasco was over, he threw a stack of money at me and left.

Believe it or not, this happened like, eight more times before people started to actively seek me out as a getaway driver. Honestly though, you’d think that they would have a bit more variety than guns. Well, I guess there was that one guy with the rubber chicken, but I saw what he did to those guards with it.

I’m still not quite sure how I got away alive…

Getting back on track, once people started recruiting me on purpose, I was able to get more money while more easily being able to avoid the police, since I was able to plan routes ahead of time.
Not that I kept the money, of course, anything I earned went straight to the hospital to help my mom get better.

This was actually the last job I need to do so she can get her final treatment! I’m glad the pay is so high though, I have a feeling that I’m going to need to lay low for a bit after this.

Though, these people were kind of fun, and genuinely didn’t seem to care about my quirkless status. So maybe, just maybe, I’ll stick around a bit, I mean,

What’s the worst that could happen, right?
