Bad Decisions

Summary:

Manaow, Pharm and Team are complimentary about their boyfriends behind their backs. Team is the only one embarrassed when the boyfriends find out.

Work Text:

"Well, we all know P'Win is the most corny," Manaow said one day when the six of them were together. The three first years had stopped off to see their boyfriends, dropping off food and comfort to the seniors struggling under the weight of their third-year exams. Team sighed and Pharm smiled, both of them saying nothing to disagree.

"Excuse me, when was this decided?" Win raised his head from where he had been contemplating Dean's still half-full plate. Dean's hand, which had been resting protectively around his food, relaxed.

"Manaow," Team said as if that was all the explanation needed.

"We got drunk and compared boyfriends," Manaow said. Pruk suddenly looked very worried. He had decided to join Win and Dean at the table when he saw them studying together in the library, though there had been a ten minute discussion about the upcoming swim meet after he had joined them.

"Manaow," he said, gently tugging at her elbow.

"It's okay, P'Pruk," she said with a smile which dazzled Pruk quite frequently, almost as often as it worried him. "You won most romantic."

"He did not," Pharm objected immediately before bowing a little in apology to Pruk. "Sorry, P'Pruk."

"Yeah, to be fair, it hadn't been decided when Manaow fell off the bed and landed on her hairbrush," Team pointed out. He had picked up one of Pharm's desserts, meant for the three hard-working seniors but Pharm knew his friends well enough to pack extra.

"And where did I rate in this most romantic scale?" Win said, smile already present on his face. He slid up the bench a little and turned so he could face Team. A hand around Team's waist pulled him back against Win's chest and left no one in any doubt exactly what they were to each other. Team shoved his hand away but in a half-hearted fashion that anyone could tell wasn't genuine. When Win's hand came back, he didn't even bother doing that.

"You didn't," Team replied bluntly. "It was Pharm and Manaow fighting over it. You won Most Corny." He reached up and patted Win's cheek clumsily before devouring the little dessert in one bite.

"Please. That was only because you said you didn't have to have the most romantic boyfriend because you had the hottest boyfriend ever and no one could ever compare," Manaow said. Team sat bolt upright, his cheeks flaming red. Win looked like all his birthdays and gold medals had come at once.

"I disagreed," Pharm said calmly to Dean. "But Team wasn't in a compromising mood." He smiled brightly up at his boyfriend, ignoring the fact that he had just confirmed Manaow's words in the most embarrassing way possible.

"I did not!" Team protested, though it didn't do much good. Win had already slipped his hands around Team's waist and was trying to draw him even closer. He started to nuzzle Team's neck, causing his boyfriend to go even more red.

"Ai'Win, not here," Dean said firmly.

Win immediately started to get up, grabbing his bag but leaving his textbooks where they were spread out. "Okay then. See you in a couple of hours."

"Hia!" Team protested but the rest of the table couldn't help but notice that when Win started to pull him upright, Team clambered out from behind the bench willingly enough. "Haven't you got very important exams coming up?" Team said as he waved goodbye to his friends.

"My boyfriend being adorable is far more important," Win could be heard saying as he pulled Team in the direction of the exit.

Manaow ignored the commotion and the stares they were attracting. "P'Pruk is the winner anyway," she said airily. Pharm gave her a polite smile.

"I disagree," he replied.

Dean and Pruk exchanged glances over the top of their partners' heads.
