It was a truly a bright night. Stars were reflected in their eyes as they were laying down on the front porch of the cursed castle
With wine glasses on their hands, they were both sighing such relieve being finally at home after their camping trip. A few cities, mountains and beaches were proudly mapped in their wonderful journey. And as the saying goes, home where the heart is; they were home at last. It was such an amazing healing trip for all of them. A pathway they newly carved, a journey they paved and a one of a kind togetherness that they never had. As tears were still welled up as Sang Tae went to pave his own way, Gang Tae was happy which consciously made Moon Young realized that she too could become a ‘normal’ person.
Through their ups and downs, tears and sweat, losses and gains. They learned that the world was not as bad as they thought it was. That there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. But oh boy they learnt that the hard way. Yet it was worthwhile.
“Would you like more wine, honey?” He turned to her holding her palm
Moon Young couldn’t believe her ears, “Sure, since when have you become so glib, honey? But I think I can get used to that” her eyes grew sparkly
“Ever since you told me that my eyes can’t lie” pouring more wine to her empty glass as he leaned over to give a soft kiss to her cheek.
As they were enjoying their new beginnings, their stomachs could not care less and so they grumbled.
“Did our tummies just did what I think they did?” Moon Young snorted.
“Well well well, so much for wine and crackers. Let’s grab a bite, honey”. Gang Tae continued. As so they took care of their rumbling tummies.
Holding up his wine glass, “Moon Young-a, this marks our very first date alone at home. To the firsts of many. I love you”
Moon Young was slightly taken aback and started to smile wide. “Where is Moon Gang Tae and what have you done to him? Although I’m not complaining, cheers. May I say that I’m beginning to like this side of yours even more.”
“ I’ve been trying to find the right time to say this, Moon Young, thank you for your persistence, patience and courage to weather our storms. At first I always thought that loving you was merely a dream. An impossible dream. Yet my heart just couldn’t lie. You are my light at the end of the tunnel. And please forgive me for hurting you especially on that very bitter day on the beach. I was such a coward and too petty to realize that you were right. You were right from the very beginning. I was just too callous and empty. Denial was my second nature too, you see. I am so very sorry for what I did to you. Knowing that hurting you would hurt me twice as hard. I know that now. And I will learn from my mistakes. And you have been giving me so much. Much more than anyone could ever receive. Thank you very much, Moon Young. I owe you. Ehem. And my brother owe you so much. And I owe you my very life.” He couldn’t help to wipe her tears as he leaned in to kiss her gently and then passionately as the night grew darker.
