Work Text:
Being the CEO of a multi billion company wasn’t an easy feat. Jeongguk has known that from the years of watching his father manage the company he inherited. He has known from the years spent in college doing his business degree. He tried to be prepared for it, and on most days he did really well. But it was tiring, the responsibility he had weighing heavy on his shoulders.
At only 25, Jeongguk achieved many things professionally. He was proud of himself, but he knew he couldn’t have done it without the support of his boyfriend. Jimin had helped him push through a lot of hardships ever since they met back in college. He had stayed up all night with Jeongguk to help him study, he had calmed Jeongguk down when he almost had a panic attack on the day his father stepped down and he officially became the CEO. Jimin waited home for him nights on end with dinner ready and his arms open for Jeongguk to crash into. He was the only reason Jeongguk remained sane and didn’t get buried under the pressure of his job.
Jeongguk got used to having to spend too many hours in the office. He got used to attending meeting after meeting, call after call, reading and signing hundreds of contracts. It was exhausting, but he got used to it.
There were times when he had arrived home late in the night and found Jimin peacefully sleeping on their couch. Jimin would wait for him every night, but on some days he was too tired from his own job as a model to wait for Jeongguk to arrive. On those nights, Jeongguk would sit on the floor, next to the couch and just stare at Jimin’s ethereal features. He would trace with his eyes every mesmerising detail of his lover’s face, his heart flooding with love and adoration. Then he would gently take Jimin in his arms and place him on their bed, Jeongguk settling next to him and enveloping the shorter with his arms.
Jeongguk proved time and time again that he was a good, competent CEO. He did everything well and his business was flourishing, many other people admiring and respecting him.
But there were days when he felt like nothing was going the way he wanted.
On this particular day, Jeongguk knew something was off with his mood ever since he woke up. He barely pushed himself to get out of bed and drive to the company. He kept zoning out through the meetings, he could barely focus on the words written on the papers he had to sign. In the evening, he had one more phone call to take before he could leave and he felt so relieved. He powered through the business conversation with one of his associates from Daegu. The only thought that kept him going was seeing Jimin after this long, tiring day was over.
When he finally arrived home, his beautiful boyfriend was stretched on the couch. He was only wearing one of Jeongguk’s large t-shirts that reached just above his knees, making Jeongguk’s eyes fall on his tantalising legs as soon as he entered through the door.
At the sound of Jeongguk entering their apartment, Jimin’s eyes moved from the TV to his boyfriend. His plump lips stretched in a graceful smile, his eyes crinkling with delight. “Hi, baby,” Jimin greeted, standing up from his lying position. He reached a hand towards Jeongguk, prompting the younger to join him on the couch.
Jeongguk started loosening his tie on the way to the couch, feeling like he could finally breathe after this suffocating day. He plopped down next to Jimin, his head heavily falling on the backrest. Jeongguk closed his eyes as he felt Jimin’s hand reach his hair.
“How was your day, baby? You look really tired,” Jimin inquired softly as his fingers threaded through Jeongguk’s dark locks. His melodious honey voice made Jeongguk’s entire body relax after being tense ever since he woke up.
Jeongguk opened his eyes and tilted his head towards Jimin. He was too worn out to speak, but Jimin understood just from his heavy eyes that Jeongguk didn’t have the best day.
“A rough one, huh?” Jimin said, a comforting smile playing on his lips. Jeongguk just nodded. “What can I do to make you feel better, love?” Jimin was now pressed to Jeongguk’s side. His head was propped on Jeongguk’s shoulder, lips ghosting over his jaw.
Jeongguk didn’t respond for a moment, letting the feeling of Jimin’s proximity wash over him and soothe him. “I could just use a hug,” Jeongguk whispered. His fingers twitched with the need to have his lover wrapped in his arms.
Jimin giggled in the crook of his neck, pressing a soft kiss against his skin. He moved his leg over Jeongguk’s thighs and straddled his lap with ease.
Jeongguk leaned forward. His arms sneaked under Jimin’s shirt and moved upwards, wrapping around his lover’s torso. Jimin was immediately pressed to Jeongguk’s chest, his own arms circling the brunet’s neck.
Jeongguk pressed his nose against Jimin’s collarbones, nuzzling the skin and inhaling the floral scent that lingered on him. He melted against his lover, the warmth Jimin emanated making him soft and mushy. Jeongguk dragged his lips over Jimin’s honey skin, leaving a wet trail in his wake.
After a few minutes of holding each other tight, Jeongguk leaned back on the couch. His hands traveled down Jimin’s back to his hips, keeping him on his lap, even though Jimin didn’t seem to want to leave anyway.
They stood in silence, just taking each other in. Jeongguk’s eyes roamed over Jimin’s bare face, from his alluring eyes to his dainty nose and then to his plump rosy lips. Jeongguk’s hand cupped Jimin’s chin, his finger moving slowly over his boyfriend’s bottom lip, eyes focused on the movement. He was completely enamoured with the beauty of his lover, heart swelling in his chest with the amount of love he felt for Jimin.
Jimin didn’t say anything, just attentively watched Jeongguk’s every move.
Jeongguk’s hand moved to cup Jimin’s cheek, eyes rising to make contact with Jimin’s. Jeongguk gave him a tired but content smile. He leaned up and slotted their lips together. Tasting Jimin on his tongue felt like the greatest elixir, reviving his weary body. Jimin’s hands fell to his chest, pushing Jeongguk into the couch. He kissed Jeongguk hard and passionate, making Jeongguk lightheaded.
Their moment was interrupted by Jeongguk’s growling stomach, making Jimin detach their lips and hunch forward in a fit of giggles.
“How about you go take a relaxing bath while I prepare our dinner?” Jimin said. He leaned back, a beautiful smile adorning his features.
“But I promised I would make dinner tonight,” Jeongguk protested. He tenderly tucked a strand of Jimin’s coral hair that fell over his eyes.
“Jeongguk-ah, you’re tired,” Jimin reminded, palms still pressed against Jeongguk’s chest. “You can cook some other night,” he assured.
Jeongguk whined. “Baby, I’m fine now. You gave me energy,” he insisted with a silly smile on his face, but Jimin didn’t look convinced. “How about we both compromise and prepare it together?”
And that’s how they ended up in the kitchen, making dinner together. Jeongguk was now dressed comfortably into a pair of shorts and a large t-shirt. He was standing at the table, cutting vegetables for the japchae while Jimin was preparing the stir-fried chicken. Jimin told him about his photoshoot and the new photographer he befriended. Jeongguk could hear the smile in his voice without having to look at him.
After they finished dinner, they moved to the living room to eat on the couch. They watched the drama playing on TV while they ate, making some comments here and there about what was happening even though they’ve never watched it before.
When they finished their food, they leaned back on the couch, stomachs full. Jeongguk cuddled to Jimin’s side, peppering his neck with wet kisses full of adoration. Jimin’s fingers entwined slowly with his, and suddenly, nothing else mattered. Jeongguk’s heart was so full of Jimin, all the emotions this one man brought in him pouring out through every touch. He was wildly in love with Jimin and he would always make sure Jimin knew that as well.
To him, Jimin was home. Jimin was love in its purest form; unconditional, irrevocable, inexplicable, but deep, true love.
And Jeongguk never wanted to let go of him.
