Chapter Text
I don't think love is real- at least in my case because of course, I know it's real. My dads are proof of that in itself. They have been together since the end of high school and even though they get on each other's nerves there has never been a doubt in my mind that they would let a fight break them up. Nevertheless, if somebody were to ask me if I've ever been in love I'd say no. I have never gotten that feeling that people call butterflies in their stomach or felt dizzy just at the sight of someone. Sure, it makes me feel upset sometimes but most of the time I couldn't care less because as of right now I need to concentrate on school and hero training. I've finally gotten a spot in the hero course and today is my first day in class 2-A.

The morning sun seeped into my bedroom through the curtains hanging from my window. It was warm and suddenly the blankets that were covering me were too hot and made me want to wilt. I kicked them off and sat on the edge of my bed with a yawn and a stretch.
"Hitoshi! Breakfast!"
I rolled my eyes and tugged a shirt over my torso before wandering down the hallway and to the kitchen. "Morning dads," I croaked.
"Good morning! Ready for your first day?" My dad, Hizashi, smiled at me as he made his own plate of eggs and bacon.
I shrugged and sat down with my own plate. I was too tired to even speak yet and he knew it, but that never prevented him from trying. The smell of breakfast filled my nose and I finally felt hungry enough to eat. After one bite I could already tell it was Shota and not Hizashi who made the food. Hizashi wasn't a bad cook but his food usually ended up burnt or not cooked enough. He also would add too much seasoning to something every now and then.
"Don't take too long, we have to be at UA soon." My other dad, Shota, spoke up from where he was sitting in the corner of the living room at his desk.
"Yeah I know, I'll be quick. Not like I have to worry about an outfit or anything after all."
He rolled his eyes at me before returning to making first-day papers and sipping his coffee, huddled in his yellow sleeping bag. I finished my food and walked to the sink to wash my plate. The water took a few minutes to warm up before I was able to clean it properly. Shota hated using cold water to wash dishes while I didn't really care. But I knew that somehow he would figure out if I tried so I didn't bother. I made my way back to my room to change into the school uniform. I picked it up from where it was folded across my hamper and closed my door for privacy. The uniform looked fine on its own but I didn't particularly care either way. It was just a uniform I had to wear that showed what school I belonged to.
"Hitshoi are you ready or not? We'll leave without you again." A knock on my closed-door told me it was time to go.
"Calm down just let me grab my bag and phone." I pulled my backpack over my right shoulder and held my phone and headphones in my hand.

The walk to the building wasn't very long, maybe ten or so minutes. My dads and I started walking to school together when I first got accepted in UA. They didn't see the sense in wasting money when we could just walk there as well as get exercise as a bonus. I usually walked a step behind them so I could listen to my music while they discussed their teaching duties. At first, we would get looks from passing students and sometimes even other teachers but once they connected the dots that I was their son those looks stopped.
Now I'm not actually Shota and Hizashi's biological son, they adopted me from foster care when I was seven. I've lived with them ever since and they treat just as they would if they somehow did have a biological son. I was grateful to them for taking me in that day and even now I always appreciate them for it.
The sun felt nice as we walked, the air had a small breeze going through it. Flowers and trees were still blossoming around us and I couldn't help but quirk a smile because how could I not? They were just too pretty. Flowers faded as we got to the school however and instead we were met with high-security doors. My dads flashed their ID cards and walked through. The door closed on me until I showed my student ID and it let me pass now too.
"Alright. Get to class on time now would ya?" Hizashi patted me on the shoulder.
"Yes of course. See you after school dad." I waved goodbye to him as Shota and I walked to homeroom together. I was in his homeroom class this year, class 2A with the majority of what was class 1A last year.
I took off my headphones and shoved them into my bag, zipping it back up quickly before I entered the room. Suddenly all eyes were glued to me and I felt uneasy and as if somebody had struck me in the stomach.
"Shinso? You're in our class this year?" A familiar voice asked me.
I nodded and looked up to see none other than Izuku Midoriya (or as his friends called him, Deku). He smiled at me with pride and I calmed down slightly. It was nice that I knew this class and have worked with them once or twice.
"Well then! Welcome to Class 2A." He shuffled to the seat he had chosen for this year.
After seeing nobody else was sitting beside him I took that seat, placing my belongings where they needed to be. A few of his friends walked over and greeted me. There was Ochako Uraraka, Tenya Iida, Shoto Todoroki, and Minoru Mineta. I didn't like the grape boy much, he was too perverted for my taste. I mean damn! I get it man; we're high school guys with needs but chill out with the stalking on the girls.
Within the next few minutes, Shota told us to shut up and find our seats and that if he didn't like them he wouldn't hesitate to move us. He ended up not needing to because everybody found a seat where they knew they could work fine and not get too distracted.
I think for once I was excited about something as my dad started talking about what to expect this year. I had a good feeling stirring inside of me...
