Summary
There was a familiar sense of camaraderie whenever he had dinner here. Every sound, every clink of metal against glass or the muffled sound of his throat swallowing the food. Even the nice, crisp fried food getting bitten and chewed.
“Is something wrong?”
He blinks, eyes immediately focusing on his current company, “No--” he flinches as his hand falters and the chopsticks landed with a soft clack against the table.
The traveler makes an odd face - something akin to concern. “Are you sick?” the young boy asks, genuine worry creasing his eyebrows.
“I’m f-fine...” he lies, feeling his cheeks flushed.
