Chapter Text
Fall. The crisp leaves descend to the blond grass below, slowly making small piles for children to play in merrily as people go about their day. Parks and playgrounds are alive with laughter and chatter about small things as small winds blow by, taking the leaves and twirling them around in a tiny swirling whirlwind. Leaves are cascaded around the area as I walk to the destination that I had agreed to see your hero on both of your time off from school, even though it was only one day in a week you both have free time. It’s a bit of a story how you two met, actually! Thinking back on the day you two got to know each other for the first time is a bit much to think about all in one thought, but it was during summer that same year that you had finally gotten to know your school friend’s brother (not related by blood but that’s a whole different story) under... Well, not the best of circumstances; yet also you couldn’t, for the life of you, think of a better way you could have met him.
As you take a seat at the nearby park bench, you take a moment to think back on the event as a whole while you wait for your ‘date’.
Toga was doing the usual, pulling me around to different clothing stores at the mall and lovingly chatting my ear off about how ‘super duper cute’ some of the clothes were. I don’t really have the heart to tell her she’s being a bit...much. She’s my best friend and I wouldn’t trade that for the world.
The basic run-down of the whole ordeal from what I could tell from various news articles is that the large explosion was a poorly executed robbery gone wrong. How the hell that happened I still have no idea on, but at least it’s a better explanation than just a random bomb going off in the mall of all places.
It just so happened that Toga and I had been right above the area that this explosion happened in; just our luck, right? The next thing I remember is being in the hospital the day after. What was relayed to me later on is that when I was found holding up a piece of large debris (to the best of your ability anyway) so that it wouldn’t crush the both of you. The reasoning behind how they found this out is because someone with a quirk that could clear the debris found Toga and I huddled together, Toga being protected under me.
After meeting back up with Toga, who was completely unharmed, save for a few scratches and small bruises, told me about the rest of the details of the aftermath. The hero who actually saved us was her ‘brother’ per say, long story short they were adopted under “strange circumstances” that she has never failed to keep her mouth shut about no matter how you asked.
She has, however, talked about her other adoptive brothers quirk and how he got into UA this year. From what you could catch from her bursts of random information about her family and home life, she ‘sort of’ has two brothers, the three of them are not related by blood but they share a family-like bond with each other. Her brother that she’s known since she was adopted, Tenko Shimura, has the ability to disintegrate anything he touches with all 5 fingers; at the time she said this she mentioned how it can be a little bit of a hassle if he forgets to put his gloves on every now and again. It's more of a safety precaution since he does know how to control it, he just worries a lot so she says.
As for her other ‘brother’, she insists that he’s the soul successor of all might and is going to be the next number one hero of our generation. I’m not too sure how true to life any of the things she says are, but I have no reason to doubt her really. I haven't seen much of him but from the times I have seen him, he seems really busy, but happy.
