Work Text:
Inasa heaves out a sigh as he falls back onto the couch of the common room. Chocolate eyes scan the newly decorated dorms with a spark of delight. Finally! They had set out decorating earlier that day and had taken an unexpectedly long time to finish. Of course, this was probably mostly due to Camie. And.. possibly Camie sidetracking him- which isn’t normally a large issue, he can control himself, thank you very much! He just… likes to bask in the fun presence of his friend!
Yes, that is the excuse he is going with and he will stick with it until he dies.
As he lifts his legs onto the couch he hears a rather loud thump erupt from the doorway. Must be Nagamasa, the door is pretty heavy and the metal knob always slips from his grasp. They’ve had many scares in their times at the Shiketsu dorms solely from him entering rooms. The first and second year classes find it hilarious, Nagamasa unfortunately does not. Comforted by this knowledge, Yoarashi shuffles under the couch’s throw blanket and grasps the mug of cocoa he’d previously left on the carpet, a cursory flick of his finger cools the surface.
“Did you find the bulbs?” He calls, bringing the cup to his mouth. “There weren’t anymore broken ones, thank goodness, but it is a bit upsetting to see the missing ones. Not to say that your lights aren’t good senpai! They’re perfect! I truly appreciate you providing your own to liven up the place-!”
Someone, decidedly not hair covered, plucks the mug from his hands. He furrows his brows.
He hears a quiet slurp, and the sound of the mug being placed onto the couch’s side table. Maybe he should’ve sat facing the window. The only reason he did not say anything up until this point was because he knew who the person was. He sure did. Under no circumstances was he terrified out of his mind, the noise that erupted from his throat when the assailant (who he totally knew, by the way) was made from excitement and not pure fear.
Inasa meets the eyes of his boyfriend and releases a gasp of relief. Generally, an eyeful of Todoroki is a welcome visage, but as of right now he’s just confused. Why is he here? Don’t the students need supervision to be off campus? Isn’t he supposed to be with his family for Christmas? Inasa is very confused and needs to ask quite a few questions.
Shoto presses a gentle kiss to his lips and he thinks maybe they can wait till later.
Regaining the use of his higher mental functions once again, Inasa wraps his arms around the shorter boy. He presses a soft kiss to his forehead, relishing in the way Shoto’s face softens and his lips curve into a little smile. Yoarashi is so gone for him. He feels a grin spread across his face as he directs a gust of wind to shift Shoto fully onto the couch and begins to pepper him with kisses.
He’d do it as much as he had to, just to see that smile.
Inasa only stops once he hears Todoroki’s deep laugh, and even then he presses one last longing kiss to his lips. Cause he’s selfish like that. Shoto plops his chin onto Yoarashi’s broad chest while resting a warm palm onto a tanned cheek. And they just sit there, Inasa relishing in the comfort of his boyfriend and Shoto using him as a comfortable pillow, because Lord knows he doesn’t need a heater.
Shoto’s eyes light up and he slips from Inasa’s grasp just as quick as he came. And not to be overdramatic but Yoarashi is heartbroken. The sheer and utter sadness he feels steels him to the couch and he may never leave it again, it is too painful to even turn around to see where his love may have walked away to, quite frankly. So he sits and waits on the couch in agony, wailing like a distraught cat. Or maybe a dying seal. Shoto sits back onto his lap and immediately he stops.
“You’re so childish,” Todoroki titters, the first words he has actually said since he’s been here. He’s holding a small box. It’s barely the size of Yoarashi’s hand, wrapped in a decorative red and gold paper. Shoto shakes it, waiting for Inasa to take it he realizes, whatever it is sounds wooden. “Open it.”
He grasps it, still looking between Todoroki’s mismatched eyes and the box. Eventually curiosity wins over and he gently opens the wrapping paper. When he sees what’s inside he almost drops it anyways. It’s a small wooden Dry-Erase board, nothing too special about that, it’s got a small strap so he can hang it where he pleases. What’s written on the board is what is of importance to him.
It’s an autograph. The name, Endeavor, stares back at him in perfect scrawling ink.
He stares up at his boyfriend, brown eyes blown wide. Shoto smiles down crookedly, small and hesitant. Nervous. “Merry Christmas,” he mutters, eyes fluttering down to the collar of his sweater.
Inasa sits up to hug him so fast he knocks over the side table and nearly throws Todoroki to the floor in the process.
