Summary:

Modern AU Meng Yao is working and going to grad school full time, constantly busy and stressed, but Nie Mingjue has managed to coax him into taking a nap for once. If that means being used a pillow and being trapped for the duration, well, he's not exactly complaining.

Notes:

Vesper's prompt was
"nieyao fluff, modern: they've been dating for a few months now, have fooled around already, but jgy has yet to fall asleep at nmj's place... until now. he's had a long week of work/studying, and he accidentally falls asleep with his head in nmj's lap. the story can focus on the cuddling leading up to the sleeping, on nmj's reaction to jgy falling asleep, or even jgy waking up afterwards and them stumbling into why he's avoided sleeping at nmj's place for some light h/c"

I melted immediately upon reading it and HAD to draw afternoon nap cuddles with tender gazing. Our guest star here is Baxia the cat, who has mixed feelings on the new lap competition but is settling for claiming part of the throw blanket.

Notes:

-I spent way too long thinking about the interior decor of NMJ's apartment, and also about how much I want to own that coffee table. hhhh live edges sexy.
-If it was up to NMJ his apartment would look he lives in a home gym, but NHS convinced his brother to let him decorate. It was a good choice for everyone involved, because if NMJ had brought JGY back to his place for the first time and it was to a white box filled with exercise equipment, a bed, and a single chair, he probably would never have seen him again.
-Yes that wall art is based on the wall decoration in the audience hall in the Unclean Realm.
-NMJ uses coasters even though he doesn't actually give a shit about the furniture himself, because if NHS visits and sees rings on the tables, he'll have a fit.
-Those magazines are all fitness themed.
-Note the ratty edges of Meng Yao's sweatshirt sleeves: baby hasn't given up his pride and let his boyfriend buy him new clothes yet. He'll get there.
-NMJ's hair tie is one of these things
-Baxia is a Maine coon, and is NMJ's sweet baby girl (and, as far as everyone else is concerned, Evil and possibly possessed). She is considering tolerating Meng Yao's existence.
