Work Text:

“Hyung?” Jin looked up from the vegetables he was cutting. “Yes, what is it Jimin-ah?” Jimin looked down at his hands and hesitated before asking: “Can we get some snacks? You promised us yesterday?” Jin frowned. “When? I can’t remember.” Jimin sighed, “Well, we asked you during dance practice and- “. He was interrupted by Jin. “Yes, I remember that part, I just don’t remember the part where I said yes.” Jimin looked down at his hands again. “Okay, maybe you didn’t agree. But me and Taehyung just really, really want snacks.” Jin stared Jimin dead in the eyes for about 30 seconds, and just when Jimin thought that Jin was going to start scolding him he said: “Alright fine.”

“Really hyung?” Jimin and Jin looked up and saw Taehyung stand in the door opening. “Were you really eavesdropping just now, Taehyung? I told you I’d take care of it?” Taehyung just smiled back. “Well, it did almost sound like Jin wasn’t going to let us get the snacks, hyung.” “That is because I am not.” Taehyung and Jimin both looked at Jin. “B-b-but… but you- you said...” Jimin began. “Well, I said that you would get your snacks, not that you would be allowed to go and get them.” Jimin and Taehyung both looked at Jin with confused looks on their faces. “But I don’t understand, hyung. What do you mean by that?” Taehyung questioned. “Do really think I would let you two go out at night when it is already very dark outside and I honestly thing it might start raining soon?. No, no way. I just texted Namjoon and Hoseok. They are still at the studio with Yoongi and Kookie. I asked him if he could go by the grocery store on his way home and get me some things for dinner along with the snacks you want.” Jimin and Taehyung perked up at that and sighed happily. “I do hope they don’t take too long,” Jin continued, “I really needs those things and dinner is almost ready.” “Don’t worry hyung” said Jimin,”, Jungkookie will makes sure they don’t forget the time. He is responsible when he has to be and he worries way too much about them to let them overwork themselves.” Jin sighed and nodded. “I know Jiminie, I just hope they don't get to wet, because we don't need somebody to get sick right now.”

*BING*

Namjoon looked down at his phone and saw that he had a new message from Jin. “What is it, Namjoon?” Yoongi looked at him questioningly. “Ah, Jin-hyung just texted me that we have to be home in 45 minutes and he wants us to run by the grocery store and get some food and snacks. The snacks are probably for Jimin and Taehyung.” Yoongi sighed and looked back at this computer screen. “We really need more time to finish this. We could be home in time, but not if we have to go to the grocery store first.”

Just as Namjoon opened his mouth to to speak up, the door opened and Hoseok and Jungkook entered. Their t-shirts were damp from their sweat and their hair laid flat on the heads from the four hours of dancing. “Hey, guys are you ready to go? Jin- hyung just texted us, he wants us to head home and get some groceries on the way there.”  Hoseok explained. “Yes, we know. Jin-hyung texted me too, but we really have to finish this before we go home.” Namjoon explained. Alright, you do you. But me and Jungkook are going to get the food and go home because unlike some people we clearly don’t want to live another day.” Hoseok replied. “Goodluck, facing Jin- hyung’s wrath.” After that he grabbed Jungkook’s arm and pulled him out of the studio. Namjoon rolled his eyes and sighed before turning back towards his screen, “Come on hyung, lets finish this so we can go home and eat.”

It was quite cold outside and Hoseok pulled his jacked tighter around himself. Jungkook looked up at the gathering clouds and the darkening sky. “I’m afraid it will start raining soon, hyung.” Hoseok looked at the younger and nodded. “I think so too Kookie, lets just hope we are home by then.” Just as he said that the grocery store came into view. “Well, look at that Kook, it seems like we will be able to make it home before it starts to rain.” They start walking towards the grocery store. “I hope they have everything we need, I never come here.” Hoseok states. Jungkook smiles at him, “Don’t worry, hyung. They’ll have everything, I come here every time we need groceries.”

Just as they are about to enter the store a loud scream echoes through the street. “Kookie- oppa! Kookie- oppa! Wait! Wait, Kookie- oppa!” They turn around to see a young girl running towards them. To Hoseok’s surprise Jungkook drops to his knee right away and spreads his arms in an invitation. The girl crashes into his arms and hugs him with all her might. Jungkook tries to stand up but she keeps clinging to him like a koala. Hoseok looks at Jungkook smiling and when Jungkook’s eyes meet his he smiles back. “So Jungkook-ah, aren’t you going to introduce you to your friend over here.” Jungkook stands up with the girl still clinging to his chest and proceeds to pat her head. “Well, this is Eun-Kyung and she is the the little sister of a friend of mine, Jin-Kyong.  Eun-Kyung, sweetheart, this is Hoseok but you can call him Hobi.” Eun-Kyung hides her face in Jungkook’s neck, Jungkook looks up and proceeds with. “Oh, I think your sister is running towards us right now.” When Hoseok looks in the direction Jungkook is pointing to, he can indeed see someone running towards them.

“Didn’t you tell her you where you where going? She must have been really worried.” Even before the figure reaches them, they can hear the yelling. “Song Eun- Kyung come here right away! How dare you run of like that, when it’s already so late! I was so worried!” She comes to a halt in front of them. “Oh, hey Kookie. Long time no see. Thank you, you are amazing. I was so worried.” She too hugs Jungkook with all her might. Hoseok can’t help but feel a little bit jealous, Jungkook belonged to BTS, he was their baby. Who was this girl to think she could just hug THEIR Kookie? He was pretty sure Jungkook had never mentioned her before this moment. This just proved they didn’t really know what was happening in Jungkook’s life at all and he had no right to stop Jungkook from having friends outside of BTS. So being the good hyung he is, he pushed the jealousy away and said: “Kook- ah, why don’t you go over to that bench over there and catch up with you friends a bit, while I get the food...” Jungkook flashed him his signature bunny smile. “Okay, Hobi- hyung. I’ll wait over there till you’re done with the shopping.” With that Jungkook walked away with the two girls. He could just still hear him talking before he entered the shop. “So Kyongie- Noona, I wanted to talk to you about…...”

“Well, we really have to go Kookie, say hello to your hyung for me.” Jungkook smiled back at Jin- Kyong. “I will Noona, we should hang out again soon. I will miss you too, Eun- Kyung.” After one last hug with the both of them they left. He took out his phone and looked at the time. 21:07 P.M. ‘Hobi- hyung will be back soon’ he thought. Suddenly he felt raindrops hit his face. He shivered and pulled the hood of his coat over his head. He started walking towards the shop to look for his hyung when he suddenly felt an arm around his throat and a hand covering his mouth.

The arm dragged him into an alley close to the shop, he tried to kick but a second person came into view and kicked one of his ankles, hard. A sharp pain shot from his foot and his could have sworn he heard a crack. “Come on kid. Give us your money, everything you have.” One of the figures said. He continued struggling and yelled: “Let go of me, asshole! I don’t have anything on me.” The figure in front of him, the one with his hands free, punched him hard in the face. Jungkook’s head snapped to the side. “Shut up you little fag. We know you’re living the idol life so give us the money.” Jungkook spat in the man’s face, which probably wasn’t the smartest move, but he wasn’t thinking straight. This completely set the man off, he began punching Jungkook’s face and stomach and delivered some hard kicks to his legs.

“Hey man, calm down. It’s just a kid, besides I think I got his wallet.” The figure that was still holding him said. Jungkook’s head was hanging against his chest as blood rolled down his face from his forehead and nose. His injured ankle was laying limp against the ground and wasn’t supporting any of his bodyweight, but that didn’t matter because the second man was holding him up anyway. Just when he thought they would let him go the first man, the one that beat him up, said something, “Hey, look at the pretty bracelet! We should take that and the jacket. They both look pretty expensive.” Jungkook’s eyes widened, they could take his jacked but not his bracelet. The bracelet had been a birthday present for his seventeenth birthday from Taehyung and Jimin. They all had matching bracelets. Just as the first man began to take the bracelet off, Jungkook pulled his hand from his strong grip and back handed the man across his face. He shouldn’t have done that; he knew the moment he did it that he shouldn’t have.

The second man dropped him and he hit his head on the pavers, black and white spots danced before his eyes. He barely felt the kicks to his lower half and torso at first, way to focused on staying conscious. He felt sick and rested his head against the filthy, cold floor. But the longer he laid there; the more pain he felt. He started to feel the kicks against his legs and the places where bruises would be forming on his torso. He felt that his jacket was taken off. He felt the rain hit his skin and the cold seep into his bones. He felt how one of the men took of his bracelet. He tried to reach after it with his hand but a boot stomped hard on the said hand. His piercing scream accompanied the horrifying crack. It was obvious his hand was broken. Somewhere in the distance he heard laughing and the footsteps became more distant. He felt like he was underwater.

Maybe he should sleep. Yeah, that would be a good idea. He would sleep and when he woke up, he would solve whatever situation he was in. He would sleep, just for a little while. And with that Jungkook passed out in the dark and dirty alley. One of his hyungs less than a hundred meters away; completely oblivious to everything that just happened.

When Hoseok exited the store with to bags heavy with food the first thing he noticed was the rain that was pouring from the sky. The second thing he noticed was that the bench Jungkook at sat upon was very much empty, there was no trace of Jungkook. Hoseok sighed and put the bags down. He reached for his phone and saw he had two missed calls from Jin- hyung and a few new messages.

Jinnie- Hyung:

Don’t take too long

Send at 20: 47

Are you on your way?

Send at 21:15

Hobi- Hyung:

I’m on my way home now, I’ll be there in ten minutes 😊

Send at 21:23

Jinnie- Hyung:

Okay, hurry up

Send at 21:23

Wait! YOU’RE on your way home, where are the others???

Message unread

“Maybe Kookie went home when it started to rain. Yeah, that’s very likely. Argg, that dongsaeng is always worrying me. Why couldn’t he at least have texted me. Wait, till Jin- hyung hears about this. That boy is gonna get his ass whooped.” With that Hoseok started to walk away from the store, towards the dorms. Never noticing Jungkook’s phone lying underneath the bench he had sat upon not that long ago.

“Why are you looking so worried, Jin- hyung?” Jin looked at Jimin and smiled. “Oh, I’m sure it’s nothing. It’s just that Hobi just send me this weird text.” Jimin came closer and tried to look at Jin’s phone. “What did the text say, hyung?” Jin gave his phone to Jimin. “Oh, nothing that spectacular. Just that Hobi is coming home right now. But from the text it seems like he is alone, which is weird because they are four totals.” Jimin just shrugged his shoulders. “Oh, maybe Namjoon, Yoongi and Kook stayed back a little to finish something. Now that I think about it, Yoongi did say he and Namjoon had to finish something very important.”

Just as Jin was going to reply they heard the front door open. Yoongi and Namjoon walked into the kitchen, completely soaked and dripping from the rain.” Jimin turned towards Jin and smirked at him. “See, there they are. Completely wet but besides that they are fine.” Yoongi and Namjoon exchanged questioning glances, while taking of their shoes and coats and hanging them on the coat rack. “Why were you worried, hyung?” Namjoon questioned. “Nothing Namjoon, now where is Kookie?” Jin asked while looking from Namjoon to Yoongi. “Oh, he went with Hobi to the grocery store, we still had to finish something so we didn’t go with them.” Jimin immediately saw the worried look reappear in Jin’s eyes. “Don’t worry, hyung. I am sure Hobi just had to type a message real fast and Kookie is perfectly fine.” Jin nodded and looked at the door nervously and said: “I hope you’re right Jiminie, I really do.”

Jungkook only managed to open his eyes a little bit. His whole body hurt. He laid his head back against the ground. ‘What happened?’ That was the primary thought inside Jungkook’s head at the moment, along with: ‘Where are my hyungies?” and “Why am I so cold?” The last question was quickly answered when he looked up and saw rain pouring from the sky. He was scared so he did when what he always did when he was trying to calm himself. He reached towards his wrist to caress his bracelet, it always calmed him down because he would be reminded of his hyungies. But when his good hand reached the broken and bleeding one, his heart stopped. The bracelet was gone. Why was it gone? Taehyung and Jimin would be so mad at him, especially because he couldn’t even remember losing the jewelry. In any other situation Jungkook would have realized that while the remaining maknea-line would certainly find it stupid that he lost their bracelet; they would never really be angry at him for it. But Jungkook wasn’t in the right mind at moment to realize that fact; to him losing the bracelet meant that his two youngest hyungs would hate him. Forever.

No, no, no, no. He shouldn’t think like that. They wouldn’t hate him, not if he acted now at least. He had to apologize, he had to apologize right now. He reached for his phone, but his hand met empty pockets. Had he lost his phone? Where was it? For the first time since he woke up, he really looked at his surroundings. He was in some small, dark alley in the city.  His body hurt all over and he was soaked from the rain. The cold was becoming more painful than the actual pain. He should move before that wasn’t even an option anymore. He felt his limbs becoming heavier with the minute and if he would lay, he for only a little bit longer he wouldn’t be able to move.

With strength he didn’t know he had, he pushed himself onto his knees. For a few seconds he just sat there, wondering what he should do next. That was when he saw it, it stood out against the grey tiles underneath the dark green bench. There was his phone, the pink phone case, not even twenty meters away from him, the color so unmistakable that he wondered why he hadn’t noticed it before. He started to crawl towards his phone, but the distance seemed to become bigger even though he was moving forward. The moment his fingers curled around the phone; all the energy seemed to leave his body. His arms and legs gave out and he collapsed on the ground. He pulled the phone against his chest and hugged it with all his might. Now he would call his hyung, he would apologize for losing the bracelet and they would make it better again, he knew they would. Completely delusional from the pain and cold; he pressed the number and raised the phone to his ear.

Taehyung was lazily laying on his bed when his phone started ringing. He yawned before he stood up and walked towards the phone that was currently charging on the night stand beside his bed. He wondered who could be calling him at this hour. He threw a nervous look at Hoseok’s bed; the elder and the others still hadn’t returned from the studio and store. Maybe one of them was calling him to tell him to give him a message to Jin- hyung. He smiled when he saw the name that had appeared onto the screen. Of course, Taehyung loved all of his bandmates a lot but his only dongsaeng just held a special place in his heart. He was just some much more innocent and purer than the rest of the members, he still needed to discover so many things about himself and Taehyung felt privileged to be part of Kook’s journey. The conversation he was about to have, however, would always stay in his mind as one of the scariest moments in his life.

“Hey Kook-ah, are you on your way over here?”

“Hey Tae-hyungie.”

Taehyung was thrown off for a moment, Jungkook sounded really out of it.

“Are you okay, Kookie?”

“The stars are shining so bright tonight, Tae. They are so big and make me feel like the smallest thing in the world.”

Taehyung hesitated a moment before asking:

“Did you have something to drink, Jungkook- ah. Did Yoongi- hyung give you alcohol because if that’s the case Jin- hyung is going to whoop both of your asses.”

Apparently, his attempted joke fell on deaf ears because he didn’t receive a response. Worry was beginning to take over now.

“Can you give the phone to Namjoon or Hobi, Kookie? They can help.”

Taehyung’s blood ran cold when he heard sobs coming from the other side of the line.

“They aren’t here, TaeTae. I all al-l-lone right now. I am so cold, hyungie. Please make it stop, it is hurting me.”

Taehyung’s heart broke when he heard these sentences come over through phone.

“What do you mean with ‘I am all alone. Where are you, Kookie. Tell me and hyung can help you. Hyungie loves you, Kook. Just tell me where you are and I will make all the pain go away.”

“But you won’t love me anymore TaeTae, because I lost it. You will hate me now because I was stupid enough to lose it. I don’t deserve you love. You should hate me, TaeTae.”

Taehyung didn’t understand anything that the younger said, all he knew was that his baby thought he hated him and was now sobbing uncontrollably.  He would do anything to fix that.

“No, baby. I would never hate you. It doesn’t matter what you lost; I will not love you any less because of it.”

“Yeah, the rain is very cold hyung, so is the ground. And my ankle hurts, there is red stuff all over it.  My hand too, it looks very weird, almost like it’s from a horror movie.”

In that moment Taehyung went from really worried to extremely terrified.

“RAIN? Jungkook, are you outside right now! How long have you been there? Please tell me where you are, baby, so that hyung can come and get you.”

“Hmmm, I feel very tired TaeTae. I think I’ll just close my eyes for a bit. Don’t worry, hyung. I’ll find it, don’t worry.”

And with that the line went dead.

Yoongi and Namjoon where sitting at the table with a steaming cup of tea, still warming up from walking through the rain. Even Jimin was impatiently tapping his finger on the kitchen island. “Those two do know how to take their time, don’t they?” Jin looked over at him. “Don’t worry Jiminie, they can come in any second now.” Just as Jin finished that sentence the front door opened and Hoseok walked in with two heavy bags. “Hobi, finally I can finish the food. Why did I take so long?” Hobi laughed after putting the two bags on the kitchen counter. “Well, the list you sent me wasn’t very short. It took me ages to find everything.” Jin patted him on the back thankfully. “You are life savers Hobi. Dinner will be ready in about 5 minutes. Where is Kook?”

The silence that followed was incredibly tense. “Wait, he didn’t already come back here?” Hobi asked. Jin looked at Hoseok; completely horrified. “What do you mean ‘didn’t he already come back here’? Is Kookie not with you? Namjoon and Yoongi told us he went to the grocery store with you.” Hoseok face began to fill with panic too. “Well yeah, he did but he saw one of his friends from school and I left them to catch up. And when I came back, he was gone so I assumed he came back here when it started raining. So, I left and came back here as well.”

“YOU LEFT?!!” Yoongi’s expression was absolutely terrifying. “YOU LEFT WITHOUT KNOWING IF OUR BABY WAS SAFE?!! HOW DARE YOU JUNG HOSEOK! HOW DARE YOU!” Namjoon jumped between them and tried to calm the situation, but it was clear he was panicking just as much as the rest. “Calm down guys, I think there is a totally reasonable explanation for all of this. I am sure Jungkookie isn’t hurt at all.”

“JUNGKOOK IS HURT!” All of them turned towards Taehyung who came stumbling down the stairs. “He just called me! He is hurt and alone, we need to find him!” But before he could say anything else Jin stopped him. “Explain calmly, Taehyung- ah. That is the best way to help him.” Namjoon and Jimin exchanged worried glances behind their back, dreading what was to come. “He called me and said he was cold and in pain. And… and … and he thought I didn’t love him for so-some reason.” Jin laid his hand in Taehyung’s neck. Desperately trying to calm him without panicking himself. “Okay, calm down. Did he say anything about where he was?” Taehyung shook his head while tears ran down his face. “No, he was really out of it. At first, I thought he was drunk. He kept saying thing about big, bright stars and about how he lost something.”

Taehyung hadn’t even finished his sentence yet and Hoseok tried to bold out the door. And he would have succeeded if Jimin hadn’t stopped him. “Whoa, where are you going hyung?” Hoseok tried to push Jimin aside while mumbling: “To the store you idiots, the have these huge star- shaped lights on the roof. Obviously Jungkook stayed near the store.” After that he dashed out the door closely followed by Jin and Taehyung. The other three followed quickly after that but they took some extra coats with them for the others.

Jin was completely out of breath but the worry for their maknea made sure that he didn’t stop running. There was this joke that he was the mother off the group, and even though he acted irritated in interviews, that actually wasn’t that far from the truth. He always tried to take care of the other members and was also the first one to be worried about them. That was why he didn’t even bother to put on a coat. Hoseok and Taehyung weren’t that far behind him, but it seemed like the worry for their youngest was making him way faster than he would normally be. He ran around the corner and the first thing he saw was the store with it huge starshaped lights on the roof. The little square was al but abandoned, most likely because of the rain, except from one of the store employees walking in front of the store to gather some signs. For a moment Jin was confused because Jungkook was nowhere in sight.

That was when he noticed a figure underneath one of the benches. He moved before he had fully understood what he saw. He came to a halt in front of the figure and he dropped to his knees to get a better look. His heart broke when he saw their youngest appearance. He had bruises all over his face and a wound on his forehead that didn’t look good at all. He wasn’t wearing his jacket which gave him a good look at the big blue bruises on his arms. Jungkook’s ankle lay at an unnatural angle. But his right hand definitely looked the worst and was without a doubt very broken. And besides all of that he was shivering from the rain that he had been laying in for more almost an hour without a jacket. Jungkook must have pulled himself underneath the bench to protect himself from the rain as much as possible.

Jin barely noticed when Taehyung crashed to his knees beside him and tried to cover Jungkook with his jacket. Jin barely noticed that the rain had stopped. All he could focus on was Jungkook’s pale face, that was devoid of any sign of life. Jungkook should never look like that, never. Somewhere in the background he heard Yoongi talking on the phone: “….an ambulance…….18-year-old teenager…….in the rain…… beaten up maybe……. address… please.” When had the others gotten here? He felt a hand touch his neck and he looked up to see Namjoon standing over him while holding out a jacket for him. Taehyung had pulled Jungkook’s upper body onto his lap while Jimin had done the same with his feet. He could hear them muttering things along the lines of: “Don’t worry Kookie, hyungie is here now.” and “It’ll be alright Kook-ah, we’re gonna take you home.”

They had only sat there for about ten minutes when they heard the sirens of the ambulance coming closer. Just as the ambulance drove around the corner Jin heard a groan. He looked down at Jungkook and he was met two doe brown eyes looking right at him. “Hey, Kook-ah. Everything is going to be alright. Hyungs are going to take care of you.” He just stared at Jin and said: “Why did it take so long? I was scared.” Tears gathered in Jin’s eyes. “I’m here now Kookie, don’t worry.” After that Jungkook was hoisted into the ambulance and after some arguing with one of the medics both Hoseok and Jin were allowed to go with Jungkook in the ambulance. Because there was no way Jin was letting go of Jungkook and Hoseok felt very guilty about not looking for Jungkook, so he wasn’t leaving the maknea’s side either.

Taehyung and Jimin were sitting in a separate waiting room in the hospital. Yoongi and Hoseok were getting coffee for the six of them, the two of them had been way to impatient so they had taken the chance to do something with both hands. Jin was currently filling out some forms so they would have the right information about the maknea. And Namjoon had been on the phone with Jungkook’s parents for twenty minutes, he had already called Sejin, trying to keep them as updated as possible. Taehyung looked at Jimin who was scrolling through his phone, the time said 01: 37 A.M. “The bracelet.” Jimin looked up at Taehyung because of the sudden noise. “What bracelet? Where are you talking about?” Taehyung gestured wildly with his hands “The thing that Jungkook lost. The bracelet we gave him on his birthday. That was why he was so upset. Because he lost something that we gave to him.” Jimin sighed. “Yeah, that sure sound like our Kookie.”

A cup of steaming coffee was pushed into Taehung’s hands. The other four had all returned and Namjoon decided to be the leader and say something. “So, I just got of the phone with Jungkook’s mother. She wants us to keep them updated and they will only come if it is really bad. If it isn’t, they trust us to take care of Jungkook and act as his guardians in their absence.” After that an awkward silence followed which was quickly broken again when two police officers came into the waiting room, one younger male and an older female.

“So, we have some updates on what happened to Jungkook.” the older officer began. “It’s very likely that he got mugged, considering that his jacket was missing. It could have been a few local homeless people, they get more aggressive once the winter comes closer, or it could have been some young club members, there was a club open near the grocery store. But that is all we know right now. We are checking surveillance cameras from a nearby house, with camera’s in two alleys and the grocery store itself.” She smiled at the members and the officer turned to leave when Jimin spoke up. “I’m sorry can I speak with you for a moment? Alone?” The woman nodded and she and Jimin walked into a small bathroom that was attached to the waiting room.

Just as they left a doctor entered. The man smiled softly at them and said: “Well, you must be BTS, my sister is a huge fan. I am glad to tell you that your dongsaeng will be alright. He suffered from hypothermia and a broken hand and bruised ankle. He will have to sit out dance practices for three months but everything will be alright.  We will keep him here for one night just to be safe, but considering it has already been midnight that won’t be that long. These kinds of experiences can cause things like trauma and sometimes PTSD, in that case you could consider therapy. He is a thought one, but take care of him. You can go see him but you are not allowed to wake him up.” By the time the doctor finished Jimin had joined them again and the police officers had left.

When Jungkook woke up he was confused. Where was he? He looked around and saw the Taehyung was sitting next to him holding his hand. Namjoon was on his other side, his hand was laying on the bed beside Jungkook’s face. Jimin and Hoseok were sleeping on a couch in the corner of the hospital room, because yes, he had figured out the he was in a hospital. Yoongi was sitting on a chair while his head was laying by Jungkook’s feet.

The silence was broken when the door opened and Jin came in with six cups of coffee. The shocked expression quickly turned to happiness and after that concern. He put down the coffee on a little table and moved over to the bed. “How are you, Kookie?” He took Jungkook’s free hand and squeezed it reassuringly. “Wh-what happened? How did you find me? I just remember laying there and suddenly you were there and now I am in a hospital. I don’t understand.” Jin sighed. “You called Tae but you were really out of it at the time, but you did say something about big bright stars so we concluded you were still near the grocery store. I found you first and after that we called an ambulance and came here.” Jungkook smiled at Jin, feeling warm inside form the love he saw in Jin’s eyes. “How did you find me first, hyung? I didn’t think old men could run that fast.” “Yaaah, you brat. How dare you? After everything I did for you?” He slapped Jungkook on the shoulder, but there was less force behind it then normally.

It was during the following afternoon, when all the members had a chance to have a talk with Jungkook and shower him with all the love they had, that the two police officers visited them again. Again, the older cop took the lead, “So Jungkook, it’s good to see you’re recovering well. You’ll all be happy to know that we caught two suspects. One of the camera’s showed what happened to you kid, and we got a pretty good look at these to men. They were club members who have already been violent before, but never to this extent. We also did what you suggested.” She said to Jimin, “And you were right.” She pulled out the black- golden bracelet, and the whole maknae-line let out a gasp. “They had this on them and it should be enough evidence for us to lock them away, because your initials are inside of it.” She gave Jungkook a sad smile and looked around the room. “Well, we’ll be on our way and arrange the rest of this with your compony.” She gave them a little wave and the two officers left again.

“Let me put that onto you, Kookie” said Tae while he tried to put the bracelet onto Jungkook’s wrist in the most gentle way possible. “You do know that we aren’t going to let you go out alone forever, right?” said Yoongi, smiling softly, while stroking Jungkook’s leg. Jungkook smiled back at but Yoongi’s face became serious for a moment, “Do know that we’re here for you Kookie, every step of the way. We love you Kook-ah.”

Jungkook looked around the room, smiling, every one of his hyungs looked at him with so much love in their eyes, that it almost brought him to tears. He knew everything would be fine as long as they were with him.

“I know hyungies, I love you too.”
