Rapper Agust D and Singer Park Jimin had reportedly broke up in the midst of Park Jimin’s preparation for his last show here in Seoul for his world tour. The couple's split was revealed 2 days before the final show. Min Yoongi (Agust D) managed to speak a few words regarding to the break up,
“It pains me that our journey has come to a close, I mean it when I say I'm so incredibly grateful to have shared the last four years with someone as passionate, smart & wonderful as Jimin," the rapper wrote. "The personal growth made possible by our time together I wouldn't trade for anything. We have nothing but love and respect for one another. I’m deeply grateful for the years shared and memories made. I owe him a lot.”
Meanwhile Park Jimin himself and his entertainment still hasn’t left or posted any statements regarding to the two artists.
“Just say the word, I can cancel the last two shows for you if you need time,” Namjoon soothingly said as he gave Jimin’s back a few encouraging pats while the younger pours his heart out crying into his hands, hiccupping as tears continuously flow down his cheeks to his lap,
“N-no,” Jimin managed to choke out, “I’ll do it, I don’t want to disappoint them,”
“Jimin, you know that they’ll understand right? They always will,” Jin spoke, making Jimin understand that his fans will always be supportive of his and whatever his decisions may be and Jimin knows this. He scrolled thru his twitter earlier, probably not a good decision as the internet is kind of in a war between their broke up, his fans going on a feud with his ex boyfriend’s- god, that sounded so wrong, so so wrong. How did they ever let this happen? How did they let all of those years go to nothing and end their relationship like that?
Jimin wished he fought even harder for whatever they have and he did but seeing how it affected Yoongi, how everyday just passes like there’s nothing. No texts, no calls, no Yoongi. He was basically a ghost. Jimin’s been opening up to his managers, Jin and Namjoon, and they both know everything about Jimin’s life especially what he goes through because Jimin’s not just their client but a part of their family now.
Yoongi was the first one that gave up. He gave up on their relationship. 4 years. 4 years and it ended over just a text message. That’s what ever hurt Jimin the most, he didn’t even get the chance to fight for their relationship and talk to him but lately everytime they do it just ends in an argument over the phone, a stern message saying that ‘things aren’t working out no matter how hard we try to’ is enough for Jimin to realize that it’s really over, that they’re done. Whatever they have, all gone.
Jimin’s mad but that’s just to hide the fact that he’s broken underneath all the smiles and laughter. Behind the curtains he’s there, not as the park jimin everyone knew but the park jimin that nobody had the chance to see, the park jimin that belongs to yoongi.
Jimin knows the world isn’t always fair. He’s had his fair share of ups and downs but this sure is enough to spiral him back into rock bottom. Yoongi was- no, he still is his everything.
“There’s just two days left then I’m good to go and cry my eyes out, hyung, I got this,” Jimin said, drying his tears using the sleeves of his or Yoongi’s hoodie.
He hates this, he hates everything. He wishes he could just lay in his bed back in his apartment enjoying his own company but he knows he won’t be able to, not when his place literally screams Yoongi. From the things he left and random things he buys for Jimin just scattered around his apartment. Yoongi always has this cute habit of buying the most random things for Jimin and placing it in the most random places inside Jimin’s apartment and the younger wouldn’t even notice, not until a day or two at least. Jimin always whines and scolds Yoongi for it but deep down he loves it, he really does because he thinks it’s the most endearing thing ever especially when he saw a red box hiding on the space under the toaster one morning when he decided to do a general cleaning with Yoongi.
Jimin had never felt so happy, that day was everything he wanted. Yoongi chuckled at him as soon as he called his name, beckoning him to come over asking him what’s inside the box. Yoongi just looked straight at Jimin’s eyes, having the softest gaze he ever landed on Jimin.
“Hyung, what- tell me what’s going on?” Jimin huffed, one hand holding the red velvet box. His apron collecting dust and the scarf around his head falling already while his other hand holds a feather duster. Yoongi carefully kneeled, one knee on the ground while the other is flexed just enough to support and balance himself. Jimin’s mouth left agape,
“What does it look like, Jimin-ah? I’m going to propose,” Yoongi said, stealing the box off of Jimin’s hand and carefully holding it by his two hands and opened it carefully revealing a ring inside,
“Yes!” Jimin screamed, not caring about the noise, not caring about whatever is going on around them,
“I haven’t even asked you yet,” Yoongi chuckled again, gummy smile showing and Jimin laughed at himself too, covering his mouth with his hands from laughing too much,
“3 years, 36 months, 156 weeks, 1,095 days,” Yoongi started, “26,280 hours, 1,576,800 minutes and 94,608,000 seconds, woah that was a mouthful,”
Jimin tilted his head, adoring Yoongi. A hand on his chest, heart beating loud and feelings flowing as love linger in the air,
“That’s a lot of time we have and spend together as one, I’m saying let’s waste and spend some more together? Park Jimin, will you marry me?”
“Yes,” Jimin kneeled as well, both his knees meeting the cold floor of his apartment but he didn’t care, grabbing both of Yoongi’s cheeks and bringing the elder’s face closer, Jimin whispered, “Yes,’ before crashing their lips together, both smiling into the kiss into their hearts content,
Their engagement is something they both agreed on not telling the public. Only their family and closest friends knows and they both know it’s for the better. Their lives have always been plastered everywhere, the media knows almost all about them so the two figured to keep this one to their circle. After all this is something very special and Jimin doesn’t want anyone or anything to ruin it for them, little did he know that the one that would ruin it would be his own fiancé,
“Can I make some changes on the set list tonight?” Jimin asked Namjoon, his voice still a bit hoarse from all the crying but he’s trying his best. Everyone understand him right now, and that’s what matters the most to him right now,
“Not really but I’ll see what I can do,” Namjoon told him, “What is it that you want change?”
“Remove serendipity from the set list,” Jimin said as he opens his bottle of water before chugging it down. Namjoon gave him the look through his glasses but Jimin just shrugged. If this was just a regular day where everything’s okay, where Yoongi’s still Jimin’s, Jimin would be frightened but right now, he’s not.
“Jimin-” Namjoon started but Jimin cut him before he could even say another word,
“You said you’ll see what you can do,” Jimin said,
“I did-”
“Then that’s settled then, if they won’t let me then so be it, but if they do then promise to inform me as soon as possible?” said Jimin,
Namjoon just gave out a loud sigh, adjusting his glasses before giving Jimin a nod and walking towards the other direction, probably to talk to Jin about the sudden last minute changes. Jimin hope they’ll agree.
“I know you wanted to sing another song, just wanted to know the reason why did you want serendipity out of all the song you’ll perform to be removed? Was it because the song was dedicated for Yoongi hyung? Anyway, we have plenty of time to talk about that. Message Jungkook ASAP the song you want to sing tonight so he’ll inform the band already,”
“This song is gonna be for him too, just thought this one will be fitting especially for the situation we’re in, and thank you namjoon hyung, you’re the best!”
“Want me to keep your engagement ring now? Before you go on stage?” Taehyung asked as he tap some final powder into Jimin’s cheeks, his stylist and bestest friend if Jimin were to describe who is Taehyung to him,
But Jimin shook his head this time, the diamond ring shimmering despite the vanity light being the only source of light, he toyed with it for a bit, “I’ll keep it on,”
“But what about the media? they’ll know,” Taehyung told him once again, probably shocked over the fact that Jimin decided to show his ring to everyone,
“Let them, not like I’m getting married or anything,” Jimin snorts, trying to lighten up the tension in the air but Taehyung just frowned at him,
“Jimin,” He started but Jimin’s quick enough to stand up and dust the powders that landed on his outfit, to cut Taehyung off,
“Don’t worry about me Tae, I’ll be okay,”
If this is the final show then this will be Jimin’s goodbye to everything. He always wanted to show everyone his ring despite them both agreeing not to, that’s how much he loves Yoongi, to the point where he would gladly shout it to the world.
He knows what he’s doing even if it hurts, just one final time, just before he let go of everything he wanted the whole world to know what both him and Yoongi had was beyond compare, that the cameras and articles are not even close enough to describe it,
Jimin smiled to himself as he walked back to his lounge room, still toying with his ring while humming a familiar song,
The familiar keys of the piano started playing, the tune ringing in his in-ear monitor and the muffled sounds of screaming that faltered down as soon as they realize the unfamiliar tune, completely foreign as it wasn’t part of the official set list for the tour,
Jimin couldn’t see from the blinding lights shining down on him but he tried his best to smile and wave back to the crowd.
“This song, wasn’t particularly part of the set list and I’m sure you guys know it by now,” Jimin said into his microphone that’s sitting on the mic stand, “I’m sorry for serendipity enthusiasts, I had a last minute change of plans,”
The crowd started screaming multiple choruses of ‘it’s okay!’ and ‘we don’t mind as long as we hear your voice we’re okay!’ back to Jimin which made him giggle into his mic, his soft voice echoing throughout the arena,
The same piano keys are still playing as he talks, he smiles as if everything’s okay. He made sure to wear a mask and hide his emotions from the crowd, “Oh, please give a round of applause to my wonderful pianist today, my hobi hyung,” Jimin said as he pointed out Hoseok and spotlight shined down on him as well making him squint a bit, getting used to the brightness. Jimin chuckled, he gave Hoseok a nod and before Jimin knows it he’s already halfway closing his eyes, both hands rested on his mic as he sings the first verse,
“I've cried enough tears to see my own reflection in them and then it was clear, I can't deny I really miss it,” Jimin sang, surprised by the silence
He carefully opened his eyes surprised by the fact that he can see the crowd now, the lights dimmed and it made Jimin happy in a way, his fans meant the world to him as well and in this journey he’s facing they sure helped him a lot and he owes them a lot too,
He can see a few frozen in their feet, some are crying and he immediately looked away. He can’t bear seeing someone cry right now, because Jimin knows he’ll cry as well. He’d always been like that and Yoongi teased him for it,
“Baby, why are you crying? The character’s just fiction - it’s not even real,” Yoongi laughed at him,
The two had just finished watching big hero and let’s just say that Jimin ended up crying despite it being their second time watching it,
“I know but, it isn’t the same baymax, the original one is lost in space, alone,” Jimin said with a frown as tears are beginning to form once again and Yoongi cooed at him, opening his arms wider for Jimin to crash and he did, his chin place on top of Yoongi’s shoulder as their chest are against each other. Yoongi gave Jimin’s back assuring taps, soothing him enough,
“But they have a new and better one now,” Yoongi said,
“But it’s not the same,” Jimin frowned even more,
“But you’ll get used to it after some time, not everything’s going to be the same, maybe some things are better than the other and we’re just to focused on the past to even notice it, see? Look at hiro, he’s happy now,”
Jimin stoped, straddling Yoongi to look at him straight in the eyes, “How does one get over it? Especially after having the best?”
“You don’t know what’s best unless you go and let yourself look for it and experience it, love bug, if you keep being fixated in the past, how would you know?”
“Pain is just a consequence of love, I'm saying sorry for the sake of us,” Jimin sang and his voice echoed throughout the silent arena, it felt like he’s the only one inside it by the silence. He’s not used to it but he doesn’t hate it, in fact he likes how everyone’s really listening to him pour his heart out tonight and Jimin knows they understand, they always do,
“He wasn't my everything 'til we were nothing and it's taken me a lot to say,” There it is, the part Jimin’s most afraid to sing out loud. He knows he’ll cry after this part he knows it but he was surprised when he didn’t. He’s been rehearsing this part for the past few hours inside the bathroom but every time he sings it he can’t push through without shedding a tear or two so to be able to sing it out loud without the familiar burn beginning on his chest and the sting at the back of his eyes he was quite surprised and impressed by himself even,
Yoongi had always been Jimin’s everything, even until now, even if they’re not together anymore.
“And now that he's gone, my heart is missing something so it's time to push my pride away,” Jimin admits he’s got his fair share of mistakes as well and this also lead into what they are today and he regrets every single bit of it and still wished he could change it.
It was the day Jimin forgot to call Yoongi, the day that started it all. Of course he remembers it, how could he forget? How could you ever forget the day that ruined it all. It was Yoongi, it was Yoongi who called begging for him to stay on the phone because he needs his Jimin right now but Jimin didn’t because he’s always busy and barely has time to do everything he wants to do,
Yoongi begged him that night, just stay on the phone please that’s all I want right now, Jimin-ah I can’t face this alone. If Jimin could turn back time, he would. He would turn it back the day it happened. He still wished he didn’t have to be so tired and hoped he just pushed himself awake even just for an hour, to at least be there for Yoongi but he didn’t,
Jimin thought it wouldn’t be that much big of deal, that Yoongi would understand because he always does. But that’s where Jimin was wrong. Yoongi does always understand but that doesn’t mean he’d be okay with it. Nights after nights that turned into weeks after weeks without communication. Jimin would forgot and Yoongi would forgive. It became a cycle, a toxic cycle to the point where Yoongi just got sick of it and confronted Jimin about it one day,
“I think we need some time off,” Yoongi said, making Jimin mad all of a sudden
He’s on another country. Another time zone taking Jimin away from Yoongi. Jetlag and countless nights running on little to no sleep then the moment he dials Yoongi’s number this is what he’ll say to him?
Jimin just wants to hear Yoongi, talk to him, distract him, help him bear the loneliness he’s been feeling ever since he was separated from his fiancé when his tour started, he thought this would work because it did before, because he knows Yoongi would understand. But he wasn’t exactly right after all,
“I know you're not far but I still can't handle all the distance, you're traveling with my heart I hope this is a temporary feeling,”
Yoongi isn’t far,
He isn’t,
Yoongi isn’t far and Jimin knows because there in the crowd stood his Yoongi, looking up at Jimin and Jimin swore he was just seeing things until a few fans around Yoongi noticed where Jimin was looking and followed his gaze until their eyes landed on Yoongi as well but they kept it as a secret, their eyes bulging out as they look at Yoongi but Yoongi just stood there while keeping his eyes fixated on Jimin,
Jimin felt the tears threatening to fall and he kept on chanting no no no inside his head but it wasn’t enough. It wasn’t enough to stop all the feelings, emotion, memories they’ve been through and experienced to come flooding him right in the exact moment, drowning him in
Jimin felt the tears and he let them fall, running down his cheeks and mentally thanking Taehyung for insisting on the waterproof eyeliner despite Jimin almost firing him for putting it on because it takes a whole army of virgin coconut oil just to remove but nonetheless here he is crying his heart out while singing in front of the one he love, singing for the one that he love.
Yoongi just gave him a nod and a smile, gesturing Jimin to continue and so he did. Despite his voice cracking a bit as he managed to not let his sobs be heard, swallowing them so Yoongi wouldn’t hear them despite the fact that Yoongi knows everything, every single thing about Jimin.
“You are, you are, you are my everything,” Jimin sang for the final time, looking straight into Yoongi’s eyes making the elder smile again,
Jimin thought he was seeing things again, because there in front of him, Yoongi mouthed the words he never thought he would hear Yoongi ever say again. There, in front of Jimin, in the middle of the crowd Yoongi stands,
“I love you,”
