On the morning of the 20th of December, Jungkook lays half asleep cuddled up in his warm and cozy bed.
“Oooh that looks warm! Lemme in Jungkookie!”
Jungkook startles ever so slightly in his sleepy daze as someone, he’s too tired to identify who, enters his room . As a slightly cold body slips under the sheets and curls up into his side he knows who it is. His Hobi hyung.
Jungkook smiles and snuggles into Hoseok.
“You know we’re the only two who haven’t done any Christmas shopping yet right Kookie?”
“Wait what?!” Jungkook exclaims.
“Yeah. Everyone else has… wanna buddy up and go together?” He asks.
“On one condition, Hobi hyungie. We split up at least once so we can get each other presents as well?” Jungkook says sleepily.
“Fine with me Jungkookie. Fine with me.” He says.
The two stay in bed for another few minutes before Jungkook eventually gets out of bed,grabbing some clothes from his wardrobe and heads for the bathroom to get dressed.
While Jungkook is out of the room changing, Hoseok gets out of the Maknae’s bed and goes and grabs them some coats, scarfs, and gloves.
Jungkook returns to his room and sees Hobi with the coats. “You didn’t have to hyung.” He says
“I wanted to JK! Now, get your coat and bits on and we can grab our wallet and go,” Hobi chirps happily.
Jungkook smiles and shyly offers Hobi his hand, Hoseok smiles widely and takes Jungkook's hand almost eagerly.
Once the two have their wallets, they yell to the others in the dorm that they were heading out. The two swing their hands as they walk into the local high street to get their Christmas shopping done.
Snow starts falling not long after they arrived at the high street, “Look hyung! It’s snowing!” Jungkook exclaims happily.
Hoseok smiles as Jungkook lets go of his hand and starts spinning around in the snow. Jungkook looks so adorable and happy, Hoseok can’t help but pull his phone out and snap some pictures of him.
Jungkook flushes a scarlet shade when he notices Hoseok taking photos of him, he stops spinning and smiles shyly at his hyung earning a coo from Hobi.
Jungkook reaches for Hoseok's hand again, with the older putting his phone away and going and taking Jungkook's hand again as they head into their first shop.
Unbeknownst to Jungkook and Hoseok, while they’re shopping for presents, the light flurry of snow has become a heavy snowstorm, The two eventually have everything including presents for each other, so the two head out of the last shop, only to be battered by the snowstorm.
“There’s a Costa coffee there hyung?! Shall we take shelter?!” Jk yells over the snow
“Sure! Don’t think we’ll get home otherwise!!” Hoseok yells back
The duo shift their bags to their opposite hands and grab the others free hand to avoid getting lost as they run for the Costa.
It’s only a short run to the Costa, but it’s enough for them to be covered in snow with red noses . They shake the snow out of the hair visible from underneath their hats before going up to the counter to order a warm drink.
“Hyung look! They have an after eights hot chocolate as a festive drink!” Jungkook exclaims excitedly, earning another coo from hoseok.
“They sure do Kookie, shall we get one each?” He asks.
Jungkook nods his head eagerly and hoseok ruffles his hair as he leads the younger to the till, orders the two hot chocolates, and then leads him to a table for two.
Jungkook smiles as the two sit down, start drinking their hot chocolates and start chatting about random things , the topics usually ending up back at Christmas and the snowstorm.
After approximately two hot chocolates the snowstorm has died down enough that if they run, they’ll get back home before it starts up again.
“Hyung… I think if we run we can get back to the dorm before the snowstorm starts up again!” He says to hoseok.
Hoseok turns to see that Jungkook is indeed correct. “Okay, but we’ll have to be careful Kookie. It’s probably icy and slippery out there now.”
Jungkook nods and grabs their bags and offers hoseok his hand, which hoseok takes when he gets to his feet after grabbing his bags. With that the duo head out and tighten their grip on the others hand as they start to run home.
They thankfully make it back unscathed but covered in snow again. They let go of the others’ hand so Hoseok can unlock the door and they can step inside and shut the front door behind them.
While Hoseok and Jungkook were out, Jimin and Taehyung had decided to play matchmaker and hang some mistletoe over the front door.
Neither Hoseok or Jungkook notice the mistletoe while they’re shaking snow off of them. It’s while Jungkook is removing his hat and scarf that he notices it.
“Um...hyung?”
“Hmm? What is it Jungkookie?” Hoseok asks
“Look up for me?” Jungkook asks softly, “That’s mistletoe isn’t it?”
Hoseok looks up and flushes at the sight of the mistletoe, “it is yeah…”
“I-isn’t it a tradition to kiss under it?” Jungkook asks shyly, to which Hoseok nods.
Hoseok turns to Jungkook, removes his scarf and wraps it around Jungkook's neck. Gently, he uses it to pull Jungkook down to be able to gently press his lips against the youngers.
Jungkook’s eyes widen but he quickly cups Hoseok's face and kisses him back softly but lovingly. Tae and Jimin peek round the wall they were hiding behind and smile to themselves as they see Hoseok and Jungkook kissing under the mistletoe.
After what feels like hours but in reality was only a minute or two maximum, Hoseok and Jungkook break apart, breathless.
“Seeing as we got caught in that snowstorm… why don’t I go run us a nice warm bubble bath and then we can cuddle up in your bed?” Hoseok offers, Jungkook nodding wordlessly in agreement.
Hoseok pecks Jungkook's lips once more before taking his bags upstairs and leaving them in Jungkook's room, except for Jungkook's present, which he drops in his and jimins room on the way to the bathroom.
Jungkook stares blankly after Hoseok, just processing what just happened before eventually heading for his room to also deposit his bags .
Hoseok starts running the bath and adds a lightly scented bath bomb once the water is at a decent level for it to start fizzing away.
There’s a knock on the bathroom door as Hoseok is running the bath, “Hobi hyungie?”
“The doors open Jungkookie!” He calls out.
Jungkook opens the bathroom door and slips inside, “Want me to lock the door hyungie?”
“Please Kookie? Just for privacy.”
Jungkook nods his head and locks the bathroom door behind him before going and back hugging Hoseok.
“Is this how we’re going to be now? We share one kiss and peck, and now we’re infinitely more clingy?” Hoseok laughs.
Jungkook whines softly and hides his face in Hoseok’s shoulder. “I don’t mind… I’ve liked you for about two to three years now hyungie.” He says softly.
Hoseok, about to say something,falters at Jungkook’s words, The younger has liked him for that long? Hoseok gently rests his hands on Jungkook’s arms and rubs his thumb over them. “I didn’t realise you’d felt that way for that long baby.”
“Not your fault. I didn’t make it obvious.” Jungkook says quietly
Hoseok smiles and stays in the back hug for a minute or two before gently pushing Jungkook's arms off of him, so he can turn the tap off.
“Baths all run, you wanna temperature check Kookie?” Hoseok asks
“Sure hyung.” Jungkook says softly before dipping his hand in the bath, “Perfect temperature hyung!”
Jungkook and Hoseok are comfortable enough to strip in front of each other, both making sure to fold their clothes as they remove them.
Jungkook gestures for Hoseok to get in the bath first, which Hoseok agrees to. Jungkook smiles and climbs into the bath behind Hoseok and hugs him.
The two don’t talk much in the bath, they just cuddle and relax in a comfortable silence, with Hoseok gently stroking Jungkook’s arms.
Eventually the bath water starts to get cold and causes them to shiver a bit. As if in sync, they both wordlessly get out of the bath, with Jungkook choosing to pull the plug out to drain the water.
“Shall we put our clothes back on, or use some of the towels and then we can put on PJs?” Hoseok asks
“PJs sound good hyung.” Jungkook replies sweetly.
Hoseok smiles and kisses Jungkook’s cheek before grabbing towels for them both. Hoseok ties the towel around his waist before passing the other one to Jungkook.
Jungkook ties the towel around his waist and offers Hoseok his hand once it’s secured, which he takes pretty eagerly.
Jungkook smiles and leads Hoseok from the bathroom, “your PJs are in yours and jimin's room, aren’t they?”
“Yeah, you want to go to your room and I’ll change and meet you back at your room?” He asks.
Jungkook nods his head and kisses Hoseok’s temple before continuing to his room while Hoseok goes to his and Jimin’s room.
Jungkook changes into his pjs and climbs into his bed to both warm the bed and himself up. While laying in bed Jungkook tries not to fall asleep because he’s cozy.
“Jungkookie?!” Hoseok calls out, knocking on the door.
“It’s open hyung!”
Hoseok walks into Jungkook's room, “Got room for me Kookie?”
“Sure, come on in.” He says.
Hoseok wordlessly climbs under the duvet and immediately cuddles up to Jungkook, essentially playing big spoon to the younger.
“Jungkookie?”
Jungkook hums questioningly as a response to Hoseok talking.
“Can we talk about everything that happened once we got home?”
“Sure hyung? But before we talk… you… you don’t regret it right? That’s not what this talk is about right?”
“No baby no… I don’t regret it at all. I mainly wanted to talk about what you said later, that you’d liked me for two to three years.”
“Oh… yeah what do you want to talk about with that?” Jungkook asks
“Just, I know you said you didn’t make it obvious, but how did I not notice?”
“Oh that? Well I didn’t make it obvious and the others didn’t notice either, so it wasn’t just you. And to be honest, you’re not the most observant hyung.” He explains
Hoseok nods mutely, “I’m sorry if I ever hurt you during those years Kookie.”
“Hyung no… you never hurt me… not once.”
Hoseok says nothing and instead just cuddles Jungkook close, he feels bad for being so unobservant to Jungkooks feelings.
“Hyung… how long have you liked me?”
“Oh god… probably close to two years now.”
Jungkook looks over at Hoseok, “really?”
“Yeah really.” Hoseoks says softly.
The two cuddle closer in silence for a few seconds before Hoseok starts peppering kisses over Jungkook's shoulders, earning giggles from Jungkook.
“Jungkookie?”
“Yeah Hobi hyungie?” He asks
“Do… do you maybe want to be my boyfriend?” Hoseok asks shyly.
Jungkook flips himself over in Hoseok’s arms, “nothing would make me happier hyung.”
Jungkook follows up his words with a soft kiss, Hoseok rests a hand on Jungkook’s cheek and kisses back just as softly.
