Please Don't Eat Me

Summary:

Izuku's mother is sick with a life threatening illness. The only known cure is a flower that grows at the top of Mt. Todo. Inko thinks that the journey is too dangerous for her son to go alone, but Izuku is determined to save his mother and leaves anyway. He's almost able to accomplish his quest and save his mother until an accident happens.

Suddenly Izuku finds himself trapped inside of a cave with a ferocious fire breathing dragon that has no intentions of letting him escape. Izuku accepts his fate of being the monster's meal, but it appears that this overgrown lizard likes to play with his food first.

Notes:

I forgot where this idea came from, but it's something that I had for a long time and just finished up recently, like in the past three months or so. The first chapter is a sort of prologue setting up the story, which is why it's so short. The next chapter will be a little longer. Hope you enjoy.

Chapter Text

No matter how hard he breathes it feels like he can never catch his breath. There’s a heavy weight on his chest right now, but he can’t give up. He can’t slow down, not when he’s almost there, not when he can finally see the top. Izuku tries taking another deep breath, the air slips out of his lungs as quickly as he tries to inhale. It didn’t feel this bad when he first started this climb, but the higher he went the more difficult he found it to breathe.

“Ah-ha ha ha- almost th-there,” he pants.

Which was a bad idea because talking just made him feel like more of a mess. If he passed out here what would happen? Would he fall to his doom? Or suffocate to death not being able to breathe? Why is he even thinking about things like that anyway? Izuku shakes his head and takes another step forward. He’s almost there. The air is suffocating and the terrain is rough, his entire body is shaking due to the cold winds, and it feels like his body is going to give out at any second now. Somehow he’s able to find the strength to take one more step though.

And one more step.

And one more.

Until he sees what he’s looking for. Izuku blinks softly, a breathless sigh of relief escaping out of his lips as he spots it. He reaches out his hand, almost in reaching distance, and takes a step forward. Something happens. He’s so close, he can almost grab it, and then all of a sudden his prize gets further and further away from him until his entire vision turns black.
