Chapter Text
Dabi was pacing back and forth. “He looks smaller.” Was all Toga said poking the still unconscious Hawks. “Oi leave him alone.” Dabi scolded which made Toga pout. “Why is he still unconscious?” Shigaraki asked annoyed at the pacing.
“I don’t know! He’s 16 but I don’t know what he remembers yet.” Dabi growled at Shigaraki. He was worried. After Hawks got de-aged by the fucker Dabi didn’t even think to interrogate him before burning him to a crisp.
Which now he thought about was not a smart choice, he should have found out why Hawks was 16, how long the stupid quirk would last and any other details.
In Dabis defence he was pissed off that the guy had de-aged his husband to his 16 year old self, to when he was hurting badly. “Stop fucking pacing!” Shigaraki finally yelled. Dabi stopped.
“Finally.” Shigaraki said rolling his eyes. “Hawks isn’t going to be how you knew him by the way.” Dabi finally said. “Yeah no shit he’s a fucking teenager.” Shigaraki replied.
“You know what I was going to explain but Im going to let you find out by yourself ass!” Dabi bit back and the two glared at each other.
“He’s waking up!” Toga said pulling the two away from their glaring session. Dabi raced to Hawks side.
Hawks groaned as he felt himself waking up. His head was pounding, did he drink again? If he had and Fuyumi found out he was a dead man, which sounded like a great thing if he was being honest.
He slowly opened his eyes. “Hawks!” He was jumped and pulled into a hug by some girl he didn’t know. “W-what?” He was confused but didn’t push her off. “Oi crazy get off him.” The girl was pulled off of him by a guy with scars.
He stared at him. “Are you my new handler? Am I supposed to have a new handler?” He asked. “Handler?” The girl questioned. “Hah he thinks you’re his fucking handler!” A guy said.
“Shut the fuck up crusty. Im not your new handler, it’s hard to explain right now but Kei I-” Hawks was quick to grab a feather and harden it into a sword holding it at the scarred mans throat.
“Do not call me that.” He spoke in a dangerous tone. The others in the room that he was now noticing had gone on alert, he was guessing ready to attack him at any given moment.
The scarred man held his hands up in surrender. “Oi idiots back down.” He told the others but no one listened. “You don’t want to hurt me Keigo.” The scarred man told him calmly. “That’s not my name.” He growled, his hand twitched. Aching to take out the person who had called him by that name.
Called him the nickname only Touya had the right to call him. “You must be confused, why don’t you put your feather back and we can talk.” The scarred man was to calm for his liking.
Here he was ready to kill him and he was being nice? That sent off alarm bells in his head. “Dabi we should detain him.” The girl from before said. So the scarred male was named Dabi? He filed that information away.
“No he’s confused right now. I can handle him.” Dabi told the girl. “He’s gone insane!” Another man said. “Kei put the feather down.” Dabi said softly. Hawks gripped the feather tighter pressing it against the man’s throats a little harder not enough to draw blood but enough to give him a warning.
“If you don’t detain him we will.” The guy who Dabi had called crusty spoke. “I already said don’t call me that. I will not hesitate to slit your throat if you dare call me that again.”
“Okay I won’t call you that just put the feather down so I can explain things to you. Please.” The way he spoke reminded him to much of Touya, he dropped the feather quickly.
Everyone relaxed a little. “Thank you, now Im sure you have questions but first off I need to know what the last thing you remember is.” Hawks didn’t understand how this Dabi guy could be so nice to him after he had tried to kill him.
Hawks didn’t answer his question, just stared at him silently. Analyzing him. “That’s creepy.” Someone said but he wasn’t paying attention. “No this is normal.” Dabi just sighed. Hawks froze, the way he said that it was like he knew him.
This made no sense, since he hadn’t seen the scarred male until today. He had no prior memories of interacting with the male but he knew him. Did he accidentally meet him when he was at Touya grave?
Touya...He heart ached at the thought of his now dead best friend. His eyes dropped to the floor, he couldn’t cry. He was in a strange place with a bunch of strangers that seemed to know him.
If the hug from the girl and Dabi knowing his real name was anything to go by. “Hey.” He heard Dabi say softly to him and he looked up. “Get out of your head birdie, can you tell me the last thing you remember?” He was still being so kind to him and he didn’t understand.
Hawks nodded deciding to finally answer the question. He remembered getting scolded by his handler because he was caught training without permission, he didn’t remember getting any real punishment from it. He briefly remembered going to Touyas grave and then blank.
“I got scolded by my handler for training without permission I am not allowed to train right now as I am to unfocused, and I overwork myself to the point of passing out. The commission is very disappointed and angry with me because of this, I didn’t get punished and then I went to Touyas grave everything after that is a blank. I don’t think I stole any alcohol this time.” Hawks told him honestly.
He figured if he was going to be punished for this he might as well be honest. “This time?” The girl questioned. “You’ve stolen alcohol before? When did you last steal it?” Dabi asked him.
Hawks thought about it. He had been friends with the Todoroki siblings for about 2 months now. In that time he had only stolen alcohol one another time. “2 weeks ago.” Was all he said.
“2 weeks? Shit it hasn’t been that long since...” Dabi trailed off. Hawks tensed up, it was like he knew. Which made no sense unless Fuyumi and Natsuo had told someone about what he had tried to do 2 months ago.
“The last time before that was 2 months ago.” Hawks said quietly. Dabi looked at him confused. “What’s he talking about?” Someone said. He really needed to find out everyone’s names.
“Not for me to tell. Im going to go call Shoto.” Was all Dabi said before leaving him alone with everyone else. “INTRODUCE YOURSELVES HE DOESNT KNOW YOU REMEMBER!” He heard Dabi yell from the other room.
It took him a second before he realised he had mentioned Shoto. He didn’t get a chance to react before the girl was in his face, he stumbled back shocked falling onto the couch he woke up on.
“Hi Im Toga! We are going be the best of friends I just know it!” Toga said happily. Before Hawks could argue that role went to Touya she had already started pointing to everyone and introducing them. “That’s Shigaraki; Dabi likes to call him crusty. That’s Twice sometimes he says things he doesn’t mean but we can help you figure that one out! That’s Spinner, Shoto and I dyed his hair pink you found it funny. And that’s Mr Compress! He’s the team dad. There is Kurogiri but he’s in Tartarus right now. Kurogiri is the team mum.”
It took Hawks a second to take in all the information, filing away everyone’s names and the bits of information he was given about everyone. He noted Spinner had a mutant type quirk like him and he hoped he could bond with him over that. He didn’t really have anyone he could bond with over that. There was also the Kurogiri comment. That made no sense, he would need to ask about that eventually but first he needed to know what she meant about Shoto.
“Wait...You said Shoto and you dyed his hair? How Shotos a little kid!” Hawks didn’t believe that one for a second. “Dabis gonna kill you.” The man he now knew as Twice spoke up.
“No he won’t! Hawks don’t let Dabi kill me!” Toga asked. “I won’t...But I don’t know how I would able to stop him?” Hawks was confused. “Toga we should let Dabi explain all of that. Hawks would like something to drink? Or eat?” The man known as Mr Compress asked.
Hawks shook his head. He was a little thirsty but he didn’t trust these people yet.
Dabi came back. “Shoto will be here soon.” He said and looked at Hawks. “How you holding up?” He asked gently. He knew Hawks was vulnerable right now. He had heard the words from Hawks as an adult; he had seen how his brothers got when Hawks had mentioned crying. He had witnessed how broken Hawks was as an adult, and now he had to witness it when he was 16. So he was going to be fucking gentle with him, he didn’t care.
“Why are you being so nice to me? I tried to kill you over a name.” Hawks asked emotionless. “I could never hurt you Keigo. Never.” He saw the way Hawks froze up at his own name, the shock from the words Dabi was speaking. He was really letting himself be Touya right now.
“Don’t call me Keigo. Im not Keigo anymore.” Hawks said bitterly. “Im going to call you Keigo because it’s your name.” Dabi said very Touya like Hawks noted. Hawks glared at him. Dabi was a little terrified of that glare; an angry Hawks is not fun.
“Glare at me all you want but Im not calling you anything else but Keigo. Now then introduce yourself to everyone.” The roles seemed to have reversed. Dabi wasn’t going to tell him the truth about him being Touya just yet.
“Im Hawks.” He grumbled to the others. “Thank you Keigo.” Dabi said and Hawks looked at the ground.
“Im here! Where is Hawks?” Shoto asked bursting into the room. Hawks head shot up looking at an older version of Shoto. “Hi Shoto!” Toga waved happily. He gave her a small wave but couldn’t show any happiness he was worried. The phone he got was worrying.
Shoto was spending time with Midoriya the two choosing to study together alone. “It’s so cool that you know Hawks! Why didn’t you ever tell anyone?” Midoriya asked, they were taking a small break. “Never really came up and we met on unhappy terms.” Shoto explained.
“Your brother Touya right?” Midoriya questioned and Shoto nodded. “Yeah the two have been friends since they were kids. They are getting eloped today which means Hawks will be my brother.” Shoto said. “That’s so cool!” Midoriya said excitedly and Shoto couldn’t help but smile at it.
His phone went off before he could say anything else. He checked the ID ‘Raisin bitch.’
He answered. “Touya what do I owe the pleasure?”
“I need you to get your ass back to the leagues base.” Touya said. “Im busying studying. I can’t just leave.” Shoto shook his head. “Well you fucking need to. We ran into that fucker again, he de-aged Keigo to 16. 2 months after that fucking night.” Touya sounded really worried.
Shoto tensed up. “How is he?” Shoto asked quietly. Midoriya looked really worried. “Well he almost killed me for calling him Kei but other than that he just looks like I did super fucking confused. Also he looks broken.” Dabi said and Shoto could hear the pain in his voice.
“Okay fuck. Okay Im on the way. I’ll let Yumi and Nats know as well. Just be gentle with him.” Shoto was silently panicking. This was not good, everyone was just coming to terms with the Touya situation and now they had to deal with this. This wasn’t fair.
“Of course Im going to be fucking gentle with him. I might be a villain but Im not a heartless monster.” Dabi bit back. “Right, look I’ll be there soon.” Shoto said and hung up.
“Everything okay?” Midoriya asked. “Not really, I can’t explain but can you cover me for Aizawa? I have to go. Hawks he...He’s going to need someone he knew at that age.” Was all Shoto said. “Of course, go.” Midoriya told him and Shoto left in a hurry.
He sent a text to Fuyumi and Natsuo telling them the situation but his main focus was to get to the leagues hideout and make sure Hawks was okay and won’t do anything stupid.
“Hawks how are you doing? Do you know who I am?” Shoto made his way over to Hawks. “Shoto? But you’re older?” Hawks said hesitantly. “Yes has anyone told you what happened yet?” He asked and Hawks shook his head.
“Look we just got over him trying to kill me; we didn’t exactly get to tell him the truth.” Dabi said when Shoto shot a glare at him.
“Okay Hawks, this might be very hard to believe but you got de-aged to when your 16. It’s been 7 years.”
