Work Text:
“cold....”
Tenko said, not fully meaning to say it out loud.
Touya held him a little tighter, using his fire to warm Tenko up. He hugged Tenko with one arm, and held blue flames with the other, holding them just far enough from Tenko that he wouldn’t be burned.
Tenko nuzzled into Touya, not really on purpose, just lost in thought.
Their dates weren’t exactly ‘romantic’, but that was expected from two villains.
They were in a dark abandoned alleyway, where no heroes could interrupt them. It always smelled of smoke and charcoal even though it was clean.
But Tenko didn’t mind. They didn’t have many options after all.
They couldn’t go on a date in public, for obvious reasons, and they hadn’t told the league they were dating yet, so that wasn’t an option either.
“should we tell them..?”
Asked Touya, quietly incase anyone could overhear somehow.
“hm?”
Tenko responded. Sitting up to face Touya.
“The league, I mean. You know, about us.”
Touya said.
Tenko thought for a moment.
“I don’t think they’ll like it very much..”
Tenko said, undertones of worry carrying with his voice.
“they’ll be fine with it, why wouldn’t they be?”
Touya said, tucking Tenko’s hair behind his ear.
“well...I don’t know. Isn’t it weird? That we’re dating? I mean, I’m basically your boss, not to mention they don’t even know I like guys.”
Tenko said.
“Well I know Toga won’t think that part is weird. She’s bi after all.”
Touya said.
“Well sure but what about everyone else?”
Tenko said, still nervous.
“They’re not homophobes, Tenko.”
Touya said, smiling a little as if this were obvious.
“We don’t know th-“
Touya interrupted Tenko.
“Ask them that first then. If they say they don’t like LGBT, just don’t tell them.”
Touya said. Tenko thought for a moment before responding.
“okay, I guess that would work.”
Tenko said. He leaned forward, snuggling into Touya.
“Can we go back? It’s late.”
Tenko said, a bit muffled.
“sure.”
Touya said.
(Creator - This next part takes place with the heroes, but bare with me guys it’s important)
“I SAID DARE YOU FUCKING NERD”
Yelled Bakugou across the room.
“Bakugou! Calm down it’s not that big a deal.”
Kirishima put his hand on Bakugou’s shoulder, trying to calm him down.
“alright then Kacchan, I dare you to-“
Midoriya started, but was cut off by Todoroki whispering something into his ear.
“Tell him he can’t yell for the rest of the night.”
Whispered Todoroki.
“Kacchan, I dare you not to yell for the entire sleepover.”
Deku said, smiling.
All of them Dekusquad and Bakusquad applauded, except Bakugou of course.
“YOU F-“
Bakugou started, but was cut off by Uraraka’s phone buzzing.
“Yes?”
Uraraka said.
“Oh...um...okay.”
She said over the phone, before hanging up abruptly and standing.
“Sorry guys! My mom needs me, I have to leave early.”
She said, grabbing her sleeping bag and leaving.
“Oh okay, *ribbit*, Bye Ochako.”
Said Tsu, waving her goodbye.
“Bye Ochako!”
Everyone said, almost at the same time.
Ochako left through the front door. It was dark, and cold outside.
“I should get home quickly, it’s creepy out here...” she said to herself.
(Creator - know that doesn’t seem relevant but TRUST ME IT IS)
Just as Touya began to stand to leave, he realized that Tenko had fallen asleep leaning on his chest.
“adorable...”
Touya whispered. He sat back down, wanting to wake him up but really not wanting to at the same time.
Uraraka walked a little faster, nervous to be on this road at night.
She had never been here before, and it looked abandoned, but it was the fastest shortcut to her house, and she really wanted to get there quickly.
She passed a dark Alleyway, when she heard something strange coming from around the corner of it.
“Baby, wake up. Sorry but we should really get back home.”
Said a deep voice from within the Alleyway.
Ochako quickly ducked infront of the wall, so that she could hear everything, but whoever was back there couldn’t see her.
She made as little noise as possible.
Relax Ochako, it’s just a person, yea just a person and they won’t hurt you...why am I listening?
Ochako thought to herself.
“mmmn.”
Came a second voice. This one was smaller, and a bit less low.
“do we have to? They’re probably not even asleep yet back at the base...”
Said the second voice.
“base...?”
Ochako whispered to herself.
She quickly covered her mouth.
Luckily, the voices kept talking, so they didn’t hear her.
“No that’s the point babe, we were gonna tell them tonight, remember?”
Said the deeper voice.
“what were we gonna tell them? I forgot, I’m too tired.”
Said the softer voice.
Tell who? tell them what?
Ochako thought to herself. She shouldn’t be snooping on these people, they were calling eachother pet names so they were probably a couple, but for some reason, Ochako couldn’t bring herself to leave.
She recognized the voices from somewhere. But *where*...where...where
“about us. That we’re dating and all.”
Said the deeper voice.
“oh, right.”
Said the softer one.
So they *are* a couple.
Ochako heard steps, like they were getting up.
And walking...towards the end of the Alleyway...towards Ochako’s hiding spot.
Ochako jumped behind an old car, and scrambled to get out her phone.
She set it up so that it was recording the front of the Alleyway, and she could check after they were gone to see who they were.
This is wrong...it’s stalking...
Ochako thought to herself. She was ashamed of her actions, but for some reason, she felt like this was important.
very important.
Ochako heard the two sets of footsteps get louder, then quieter, and eventually fade away completely.
She waited a few seconds for good measure, then eagerly grabbed her phone.
She checked the camera.
Two men. Two men she knew all too well.
On a date.
This was information she should hand over to the cops immediately. She studied the video a little closer, and found something that made her feel a little guilty.
Dabi was holding Shigaraki’s hand.
“They’re a couple I shouldn’t be surprised that they’re holding hands. And they’re villains, I shouldn’t feel bad for them.”
She had never seen these terrifying villains so...vulnerable.
They were smiling, genuinely smiling.
They actually looked happy together.
Ochako shouldn’t have wanted them to be happy, but for some reason, she felt like they were human. Like it wasn’t right to tell the police.
Without thinking first, she deleted the video.
“Alright class. I know this sounds corny to some of you, and trust me it is, but today you will be able to see your soulmates.”
Said Mr.Aizawa.
“You all know about the red string, correct?”
He sighed. He sounded tired and bored.
“I don’t.”
Said Kaminari.
Aizawa sighed again.
“A red string attached to your finger, and that of your soulmate. That’s basically it.”
Said Mr.Aizawa, unenthusiastically.
“oh, uh, okay.”
Said Denki. Clearly still confused.
“Wait! Can we see other people’s too?”
Asked Kirishima.
“No. You can only see someone else’s string if it turns black. And it only turns black after your soulmate dies. So hopefully, none of you will see anyone else’s string.”
Said Mr.Aizawa.
The class went silent. That was a grim thought.
Alright. This is called a host’s ring.
Aizawa held up a small silver ring, with a red gem sticking out the top.
“When I twist the gem, anyone within a 200 mile radius who can’t already see their red string will be able to.”
Aizawa said, gripping the red gem.
“3...2...1..”
Aizawa twisted the Red gem.
Suddenly, a bright red string appeared tied in a neat little bow around Ochako’s finger. It lead somewhere outside of the class, and went through the wall. She though about what went the way that her string lead. Tsu and Midoriya were absent today, and their houses were the same way. She only had one string. She wondered who it lead to. Then, she noticed that Todoroki was looking the same way that she was.
Ochako understood. Her cheeks went red. She didn’t think her soulmate would be a girl...
Wait.
Ochako realized something. If Shigaraki and Dabi were in that Alleyway again, or anywhere near it, they would see their soulmates too.
Wait no, surely they already could see their soulmates, right?
They use the ring for you in highschool, and they were adults.
But did they go to highschool? That was a weird thought.
She decided to leave the thought alone. The school day was over, after all.
Ochako felt regretful as she walked home. She should have turned in that video. But still...something about knowing that two people she had learned to be afraid of had a soft side was reassuring. She didn’t want to ruin it, not matter how much she told herself that she should.
It was the end of the school day, and Ochako had declined Iida’s offer to walk her home.
She was absentmindedly waking forward, lost in thought.
She considered going straight home, but something told her she should go back through the shortcut. They only went there at night, right? She could make it through there.
Ochako went to the shortcut, only to hear Shigaraki and Dabi again.
“Are you okay, babe?”
Said Dabi.
Ochako resented his voice, she felt awkward knowing who the voice belonged to.
“I’m fine. why?”
Said Shigaraki.
“You didn’t tell them, that’s why. Are you still scared? I thought we had a plan-“
Said Dabi.
Ochako understood. They were going to tell the rest of the League about their relationship, but Shigaraki was too scared.
Shigarki being scared without having his life threatened was a strange thought for Ochako.
WAIT
Ochako thought.
What if one of them says the other’s real name?
She should be recording this time too!
Ochako set up her phone around the corner again, recording them without showing herself.
“I’m sorry...I’m just scared. Are you...uh...mad?”
Shigaraki asked.
It was so *weird* hearing him sound so vulnerable and genuine.
Dabi kissed Shigaraki for about 3 seconds, then pulled away.
“Take your time, Tenko. I won’t force you to tell them if you’re not ready.”
That was more than enough proof that they were dating for the police.
Dabi reached for Shigaraki’s hand. Shigaraki flinched and pulled away quickly.
He started breathing heavily.
“Hey, Tenko it’s okay. You’re not going to disintegrate me. I won’t let that happen and you won’t either, okay?”
Said Dabi, putting one of his hands on Shigaraki’s shoulder, and the other on his cheek, trying to calm him down.
Shigaraki looked straight ahead, as if he had just seen a ghost.
“Hey, Tenko. Look at me.”
Dabi said, tilting Shigaraki’s head upwards.
“It wasn’t your fault.”
Dabi said quietly.
A single tear trailed down Shigaraki’s face, and he leaned into Dabi again, who held him tightly.
Okay, thought Ochako to herself. So his real name is Tenko. And something happened with his quirk that ‘wasn’t his fault’, and clearly gives him awful flashbacks.
Ochako felt bad for him. Something that could make Shigaraki, leader of the league of villains, cry, must have been really horrible.
“h-hey...Touya?”
Said Shigaraki.
“yea?”
Said Dabi, still holding Shigaraki tightly.
“Is there any way that you could cry? I mean I know your tear glands are all burnt but it seems unfair. Not being able to cry...sorry it was a stupid question. Of course you can’t cr-“
Dabi interrupted Shigaraki.
“I can.”
Dabi said.
“Really?”
Asked Shigaraki, clearly not having expected this response.
“Yes. I could cry if you were gone.”
Dabi said solemnly.
“...if I were...what?”
Asked Shigaraki, sitting up but still leaning forward on Dabi.
“Well we just found out that you’re my soulmate. And the only way I can cry is if my soulmate dies infront of me.”
Dabi said. Shigaraki looked worried about something.
“But you’re here, so don’t worry about that.”
They went back to just hugging, and stayed silent for a few seconds.
“Can we stay like this for a little?”
Asked Shigaraki, nuzzling into Dabi.
“yea. I’d like that.”
Said Dabi, resting his chin on Shigaraki’s head.
That’s is more than enough. Ochako now had both of their real names, hints for Shigaraki’s backstory, evidence that they were dating, *and* evidence that they were soulmates. All in that video.
She regretted not turning in the other one, but looking back, that wouldn’t have been enough anyway.
Ochako got her phone, stopped recording, and sprinted to the nearest police station.
“Hello, officer.”
Ochako said.
“Can I help you, miss?”
The officer answered.
“Yes, I need to report important information for the League of Villains case.”
The next day, Shigaraki still couldn’t force himself to tell the others.
It wasn’t that he didn’t trust them or that he thought they were homophobic or something, he couldn’t place exactly what it was.
He was at the usual spot with Dabi, only this time they weren’t silent like usual.
Dabi was in a surprisingly good mood that day, and actually seemed happy.
Shigaraki was happy too, despite being disappointed in himself for not being able to tell the league about their relationship.
A loud thud came from outside of the alleyway.
Tenko and Touya stopped smiling. They went silent.
Another thud.
Touya motioned for Tenko to get behind him. Tenko shook his head and mouthed, “I’m fine on my own.”
Dabi nodded, and they both advanced slowly towards the exit.
More thuds, going faster and faster, louder and louder, closer and closer. footsteps. someone was there. No, multiple people were there. A lot of them. About 26.
Shigaraki and Dabi looked at each other in agreement, and walked out of the alleyway.
They didn’t want to fight, but sometimes it was necessary. Nobody comes in groups of 26. These were either heroes or police, and both would be looking for a fight.
The moment they stepped out of the alleyway, Shigaraki fell to his knees.
He grabbed his right shoulder with his left hand, blood trickling out from underneath it.
He was shot. They shot him.
Dabi looked straight forward, suddenly ready for a fight. He ignited his hands and pushed fire forward. Hitting three officers. Not killing them, just injuring them enough to keep them down.
Dabi kept attacking the police from a distance while they charged towards him. He stood in front of Shigaraki, who was loosing more and more blood by the second.
Dabi managed to get 8 more officers down, but two snuck up behind him without him having time to realize or react before they cuffed Shigaraki, who had passed out from blood loss.
The cuffs weren’t normal, they were clear, and red.
“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING”
Dabi yelled,
It was obvious that there was no point in detaining Shigaraki, not to mention they were doing nothing to stop the bleeding.
“We’re arresting him. Come quietly and we’ll get his wound fixed up.”
Dabi thought for a moment.
If Shigaraki’s wound wasn’t treated, he could die...
But there was a much simpler solution.
“I don’t do ‘quietly’.”
Said Dabi, raising his hand to the officers. He burned them. This time, they were dead. Just piles of ashes beside Shigaraki’s unconscious body.
Dabi picked up Shigaraki and ran as fast as he could out of the abandoned place. He ran passed a sinkhole, which the town meant to have had a fence around, but decided it wasn’t worth the budget.
Dabi tripped on something. Not a rock, or a piece of wood, or a brick. It felt like someone’s foot. Dabi dropped Shigaraki. He got up from the ground, but he didn’t see Shigaraki anywhere.
Dabi turned around.
“Dabi...is it?”
Endeavor stood in front of Dabi. And he had Shigaraki. He had one of his giant hands around Shigaraki’s throat, and the other binding his hands together.
“Put him down.”
Dabi said through clenched teeth.
“Come quietly.”
Said Endeavor, grinning in amusement.
“I have no way of knowing what you’ll do to him if I do.”
Dabi said. That part was true.
Endeavor sighed.
He let go of Shigaraki’s hands, and instead grabbed the collar of his shirt, and dangled him over the sink hole.
Dabi dropped to his knees.
“DON’T”
He said, putting his hands behind his head.
“Don’t...don’t hurt him. I’ll come quietly. Just leave him be.”
Endeavor hurled Shigaraki at Dabi, and Shigaraki landed on the ground next to him. Hands still bound by those strange red handcuffs.
“Why do you care? You villains sure are loyal to your leaders aren’t you?”
Endeavor said, approaching Dabi.
“Maybe because he treats us better than you treat you treat hero kids.”
Dabi said.
“Oh shut up. You’ve never been in our training programs, what do you know.”
Endeavor grabbed Dabi’s hands and cuffed them behind him.
He threw both Dabi and Shigaraki into the back of their car, Shigaraki still unconscious.
“I’m sorry, Tenko. I’m so...so...sorry.”
Dabi whispered.
The police station wasn’t anything like Dabi had expected.
Him and Shigaraki had been placed in the back of the police station, rather than an actual prison.
They were in a singular cell, each cuffed with their hands behind their backs, sitting against opposite walls.
Dabi was either waiting for an officer to come by or Shigaraki to wake up. He hoped for the ladder.
However, you don’t always get what you want.
A police officer came to their cell. She looked like a detective, because she didn’t have a uniform. Plus, Dabi could make out her name tag.
Why was a detective here?
“So, this one’s the infamous Shigaraki, hm? He looks softer than I expected.”
The detective tilted Shigaraki’s head up by his chin.
“Don’t touch him.”
Dabi said menacingly.
The detective put her hands up jokingly.
“ah, sorry. You’re right I’m getting off topic.”
She walked closer to Dabi.
“This is an interrogation. It can go one of two ways. One:”
The detective pushed Dabi harder into the wall with her foot.
“You can tell me what I want to know.”
The detective smiled.
She pulled a blade from her pocket and used the flat end to tilt his face to look her in the eyes.
“Or this can get messy.”
Dabi was silent for a moment.
“Well that depends on what exactly you want to know.”
Dabi said.
“Lets start off with something simple, shall we?”
Said the detective.
“Your names. Both of them.”
Dabi responded quickly.
“You know our names.”
The detective pressed the blade harder against dabi’s chin.
“I think you know what I meant.”
A cruel grin crept onto the detective’s face.
“...”
Dabi thought for a moment.
“no.”
Dabi said.
“what.”
Said the detective.
“I said no. Do what you want with me, I won’t tell you his real name, or mine for that matter.”
Dabi said.
A drop of blood trickled down Dabi’s neck as the blade was pressed into it even harder than before.
“Oh I know you won’t tell me, no matter what I do to *you*”
She released the pressure of the knife from under Dabi’s chin.
She walked over to Shigaraki. She pulled back his head by his hair with one hand and used the other to press her blade lightly against Shigaraki’s throat.
“But what about *him*?”
She said, still smiling.
Her smile was beginning to get creepy.
The detective did something unexpected. She released the blade from Shigaraki’s neck, and let go of his hair. But she didn’t back away.
She grabbed his neck, and his handcuffs.
“You see this little switch on the cuffs?”
She asked.
Dabi nodded hesitantly.
“Well, when I press it, this poor guy will feel all possible pain from everyone’s quirk who has touched the handcuffs. That oughta wake him up, don’t you think?”
Dabi began to try to use his quirk to melt the handcuffs off of Shigaraki, or just kill this phsyco, but his quirk wouldn’t work.
“Oh, and it cancels quirks too.”
Said the detective.
She giggled while taping Shigaraki’s mouth shut.
“STOP THAT WILL KILL HIM”
Yelled Dabi, struggling against the chains attaching him to the concrete wall.
“No it won’t. He’ll only feel the pain of everyone’s quirk who touched the cuffs, the quirks won’t actually leave any physical damage. That’s why they’re so good for interrogations.”
Dabi was questioning if this was a real police interrogation at all, or if it was completely illegal, but his thought process was interrupted by muffled screams.
Shigaraki.
Shigaraki had woken up, eyes wide, and trying to scream.
Dabi had touched those cuffs when he had carried Shigaraki. He had no idea what else he was feeling but being burned alive was bad enough by itself. Much less by blue flames.
“I’LL TELL YOU”
Dabi screamed.
Shigaraki’s muffled screams ceased.
“I-I’ll tell you. Okay? Just stop hurting him.”
Dabi said quietly.
He hated showing weakness in front of heroes, but he couldn’t help it this time.
“Names. Now.”
The detective said as she pushed on Shigaraki’s throat against the wall.
Shigaraki coughed, clearly not breathing very well.
“He’s Tenko Shimura. That...that’s his name.”
Dabi said.
“Both.”
Said the detective.
“I’m...Touya.”
Dabi said quietly.
The detective let go of Shigaraki’s throat and choked Dabi instead, just hard enough not to keep him from speaking.
“Touya what.”
The detective growled.
“Todoroki.”
Dabi winced.
The detective pressed her hand harder into his neck.
“Nice try. He’s dead. I happen to be friends Endeavor, you know.”
Said the detective.
“I faked my death. Ask Natsuo or Fuyumi. They’ll recognize me. Not Shoto, he barley saw me before I was sent to the hero commition.”
Dabi said.
The detective let go.
“Well then...I guess you wouldn’t know that Touya went to the hero commition otherwise, but that’s not enough proof. Fuyumi and Shoto are here for other reasons. I’ll bring them here.”
Said the detective.
When she got back, Fuyumi and Shoto were right behind her.
Fuyumi saw Dabi.
“Is- is that-“
Fuyumi covered her mouth. A single tear fell from here eye. She ran over to Dabi and hugged him, crying.
“FUYUMI! That’s the villain Dabi! Don’t touch him he could hurt you!”
Shoto yelled.
Fuyumi turned to Shoto, a confused expression on her face.
“Oh, right. You barley saw him before dad sent him off.”
Fuyumi said, exchanging her confused expression for a pitiful one.
“Shoto, this is Touya.”
Said Fuyumi.
Shoto stood in shock.
He shook it off.
“No, no it’s not. I know him. That’s Dabi.”
Shoto said, backing away slowly.
Fuyumi turned back to Dabi, still crying a little.
“I thought you were dead Touya...we thought we lost you..”
Dabi could hear her voice breaking.
Fuyumi hugged Dabi.
He couldn’t hug her back, but he smiled, and rested his head on her shoulder.
The detective grabbed Fuyumi from behind by both shoulders and dragged her out of the room.
“That’s enough family reunion, Shoto and his class need to finish getting to know the police if they wanna be heroes.”
Said the detective.
“Wait, what are you gonna do to him?”
Asked Fuyumi.
“Don’t worry about it.”
Said the detective.
She escorted them out, and then resumed her questions, and her horrible torture along with them.
That is, until Shigaraki finally passed out from pain and exhaustion.
“Oh. Well I guess that’s not really a motive for you to tell me anything if he’s unconscious.”
The detective let go of Shigaraki and came over to Dabi instead.
“Now.”
She grabbed his neck, and then his hand cuffs.
“Where. Is. Your. Base.”
She said.
Dabi stayed silent.
“You really don’t care what I do to you, huh?”
She asked.
Dabi smiled and shook his head.
“Fine. I’ll just use your screams to wake up your little boyfriend.”
She said.
“what? Boyfrie-“
Dabi started.
But he was interrupted by the loud click of the switch on his handcuffs.
He suddenly felt like he was being burned alive, a million tiny knives pressing into every inch of his skin. He felt his insides being torn apart peace by peace, and crushed by something within him.
Was this...what Tenko felt?
Dabi despised that thought. The thought of the person he loved feeling the same pain he was feeling right now was terrifying.
Dabi screamed.
Shigaraki’s eyes slowly opened.
He started struggling against his chains, trying to get to Dabi or to get the tape off of his mouth.
However he found himself unable to do either.
It went on like this. Taking turns with the pain, never a break.
This went on for around a week.
“Alright UA kids! You were here last week and you met every officer in the precinct. Right?”
Said officer Shirogami.
1-A nodded in agreement.
“Well now, we have a little surprise for you.”
Officer Shirogami lead the UA kids into a room with security footage on several screens.
“Now, you’re gonna have the privilege of learning exactly what goes on around here. And I mean punishments. First you’ll learn what we do with minor criminals, thugs and such. Then, independent criminals, and so on to big league villains like the LOV. I’m sure you’ve all heard that we have two of them in custody here.”
1-A nodded.
Ochako was curious to learn what had happened to Shigaraki and Dabi once they got here.
“Uh, Officer Shirogami?”
Said Denki.
“Yes?”
Said Officer Shirogami.
“Don’t all of them just get prison time, and some get more than others?”
Denki asked. It was a fair question, that was what they were supposed to do legally after all.
“you’ll see.”
Answered Shirogami.
That was ominous....
“For minor criminals, they get 2-6 years in prison depending on their specific crime. Sometimes, they can get out for good behavior.”
1-A nodded in understanding.
Shirogami went through a list of different types of criminals, until he eventually got to the worst type of criminal.
“Now, for big-time villains like the LOV, their punishment is more than just time. They aren’t even transported to an actual prison. They stay here to atone for their actions.
Now, the punishment we give criminals like them
is mostly used for interrogation and retaining information.
It’s better to see it in action, so I’m going to show it to you all, live on security cams.”
Shirogami turned on 3 of the monitors in sync, revealing Shigarki and Dabi tied up.
“That’s a bit dramatic.”
Murmured Kaminari.
Ochako noticed something.
“Uh hey officer? Why are their handcuffs red?”
Ochako asked.
“Good question.”
Said officer Shirogami.
He pressed a button on the monitor and spoke into it.
“Begin.”
He said.
1-A jumped at the sound of muffled screams and cries. The monitor zoomed in on Shigaraki, who had tape over his mouth.
They could tell he was the one screaming.
“What’s happening to him?!”
Kirishima yelled in terror.
“Simple really. Those hand cuffs he’s wearing have a switch. When you press it, whoever’s wearing them feels all possible pain from the quirks of everyone who has touched the handcuffs.”
Shirogami said proudly.
1-A started screaming for him to turn it off, before finally, Bakugou left the room.
“Hey kid! Where are you going?”
Asked officer Shirogami.
“I hate villains!”
Bakugo is said.
“But even they don’t deserve this.”
He growled.
Bakugou ran to the cells where Shigaraki and Dabi were. He blew up the door and found the switch on Shigaraki’s handcuffs. He turned it off, and Shigaraki stopped screaming.
His face was wet with tears and he wasn’t breathing well with the tape on his mouth.
Bakugou ripped off the tape.
Shigaraki was breathing heavily, and his breath was staggered.
He broke the handcuffs, thinking Shigaraki would thank him or something.
But instead, Shigaraki sprinted over to Dabi, took off his glove, and disintegrated his handcuffs and chains.
“Let’s go,”
Said Dabi.
Shigaraki nodded.
Shigaraki and Dabi began to leave, but just before Dabi was out of Bakugou’s sights, he turned to Bakugou.
“Thank you.”
He said.
Then, he and Shigaraki were gone.
As Shigaraki and Dabi ran as far away from the Police station as possible, they both fell suddenly into the ground.
A portal.
Kurogiri.
Finally.
They fell through the ground and found themselves on top of a tall building, with Kurogiri standing in front of them.
“Kurogiri,”
Dabi said.
“Dabi.”
Said Kurogiri.
“Thank you, Kuro. I don’t know what we would do without you.”
Said Shigaraki.
“I’ll give you two a moment alone. I don’t know if you want to talk about what happened, but if you do it’s none of my business.”
Said kurogiri as he warped himself away.
Dabi hugged Shigaraki.
Shigaraki hugged back. He was crying, but this time it was happy tears.
“I’m so sorry...I’m so sorry that that happened. It was my fault I should have protected you. I’m sorry Tenko I-“
Dabi’s voice was breaking.
Shigaraki kissed him, lightly.
He pulled away after a few seconds.
“It’s over now Touya. It wasn’t your fault. There was nothing you could do. Endeavor came to brag when you were passed out. He told me what happened Touya, you saved me. You saved my life.”
Shigaraki leaned into Touya’s chest, who held him tightly.
“I love-“
Tenko was cut off by the sound of the door to the roof being broken down, followed by the sound of yelling,
“GET DOWN, GET DOWN.”
Repeated over and over.
“GET DOWN OR WE WILL SHOOT.”
Shigaraki put his hand out infront of him, shielding his face out of fear, and because of the Police’s bright flashlights in his face.
The next thing that happened almost seemed as if it where in slow motion.
A loud bang.
Blood.
The fall.
A bullet went through the hand infront of Tenko’s face, then grazed his neck.
He fell backwards before Touya could catch him, and fell.
He fell off of the roof.
The building had to be at least 80 stories. There was no way he could survive that.
Everything went quiet.
The police were still making a racket, but Touya couldn’t hear them. He heard nothing except a rigging in his ears.
They must have been so high up that he didn’t even hear the thud of Tenko’s body hitting the road.
A police officer pushed him to his knees.
“you....”
Dabi said, looking at the ground.
The police officer bent down to Dabi’s level to hear what he was saying.
“You’re gonna regret that.”
Dabi head butted the officer, and didn’t hesitate to light the entire building on fire.
He walked down the only staircase that wasn’t in flames, and left the building.
He went back to the league, and no one was home.
So, he collapsed to his knees and broke down.
His hands covered his face to muffle his screams, but all of his tears still fell to the floor.
He didn’t even think about the fact that he was crying. He didn’t wonder why. Because he had seen his soulmate die.
“Officer Shirogami!”
Yelled the detective.
“Dabi got away, how the fuck are we supposed to know where he is.”
She wined.
“He’s at their base.”
Said officer Shirogami.
“What? How do you-?”
Asked the detective, cut off by Shirogami.
“Remember when you asked them where their base was? Well they told us, so we put cameras there. Look.”
The detective looked at the monitor in front of Shirogami, who was staring at it intently.
“He’s there.”
Said Shirogami.
Sure enough, there he was, collapsed on the floor, crying.
“Bullshit. He can’t cry, remember?”
Said the detective. She sounded very unimpressed.
“He can, if he sees his soulmate die.”
Said Shirogami, sipping his black coffee.
The 1-A kids were all still there.
Soulmate?
Ochako thought.
Only Dabi escaped, and he can only cry if he saw his soulmate die...
Ochako put her hand over her mouth.
“Ochako! Are you okay?”
Asked Midoriya.
“N-no, t-this is my f-fault!”
Ochako said, beginning to cry.
“What? No it isn’t! The police did this not you!”
Midoriya assured her.
“Yea b-but I gave them t-the evidence that g-got them i-in here!”
Ochako said though tears.
“That doesn’t make it your fault! You had no way of knowing what they were going to do.”
Said Midoriya.
“I-....”
Ochako thought for a moment.
“I guess *sniff*, y-you’re kinda r-right..”
Ochako said, wiping her tears.
She stood.
“So...Shigaraki is...dead?”
Ochako asked Shirogami.
“What?”
Said 1-A in unison.
“Why would you think that?”
Asked the detective.
“Because they were soulmates. Right? Dabi and Shigaraki.”
Ochako said, a new, stern look on her face.
“WHAT”
1-A said again, more shocked this time.
“Clam down. He didn’t actually die.”
Said Shirogami.
Ochako sighed in relief.
“When he fell off the building, The hero Hawks caught him. He’s tending to his wounds somewhere from what I know.”
Shirogami said.
“But then...how is Dabi crying?”
Asked Ochako.
“He just has to *think* he saw his soulmate die. It doesn’t have to be true.”
Said Shirogami.
“Great, then we should go tell him.”
Ochako began to leave.
“Wait, kid. You have no idea where their base is.”
Said Shirogami, grabbing her arm.
Ochako shook him off.
“Then tell me.”
She said sharply.
“no, this is a good method of punishment for a villain like him.”
Shigaraki woke up in a strange room. The first thing he noticed was a bright white light in his eyes. As his eyes got used to the light, he noticed that his shirt was gone. It had been replaced by bandages, soaked through with blood.
“mmmf”
Shigaraki tried to sit up, but felt a hand push him back down.
“No, you need to rest.”
Shigaraki could make out who the figure over him was. It was Keigo Takami.
They were both silent for a few minutes, before Keigo spoke.
“I’m sorry.”
His voice began to shake.
“I’m sorry, I should have been there. I should have done something. I-“
Shigaraki cut him off.
“It’s okay Keigo. It’s over now. You saved me.”
He said.
Keigo smiled as a tear trickled down his check.
“But...I need to see Dabi. He’ll think I’m dead. That’s more important than resting.”
Shigaraki said.
“Right. Okay, here.”
Hawks handed Shiagaraki his shirt.
Dabi should have been able to stand up. He managed to stop panicking, but he was in no way okay.
He sat on the floor, leaning against the bar table. He just kept looking straight ahead, completely numb.
He couldn’t hear anything. Just the same ringing as on the roof. He heard the same wind he had heard up there. He felt the same air pushing against his face as he did there. It was as if he were still trapped in that moment, and couldn’t get back to the present.
He tried to stand, but his body didn’t want to oblige.
After around 5 minutes, he was able to stand up. Only to have his balance thrown off by the sound of a door being thrown open, and a sudden pressure. Something hugging him from behind.
Dabi turned around.
His eyes opened wide.
“T-Tenko?...”
Dabi whispered.
“mhm”
“But you’re...you’re dead...I saw you die...no...I-I’m hallucinating.”
Dabi said.
“No.”
Shigaraki sighed.
“Look.”
He held up his finger, which still had a red string tied around it, attached to Dabi’s finger.
Not black.
Red.
Dabi hugged Shigaraki close to him.
After a minute or two, they pulled away.
Dabi kissed Shigaraki, indescribably happy that he wasn’t gone.
They heard a door open, and a voice.
“uh.”
Toga.
And Twice.
And the rest of the the LOV behind them.
Shigaraki pulled away from Dabi, Blushing hard.
Dabi laughed.
“I guess we have a few things to explain.”
