Work Text:
Jungkook was literally flying over the ground, not making any sound since he knew every stone, hole, clade and bump on his way. He woke up really early that day so he could go to ‘the gate’, which he wasn’t allowed to. They said it was dangerous and therefore forbidden, however that didn’t hinder Jungkook to go anyway. He had almost reached the wall that surrounded it.
It was huge, metallic and glistened in the sun. The houses were taller than the highest trees and seemed to constantly change. Jungkook never had seen the inside other than from glimpsing over the treetops. His curiosity had killed him and together with a story from someone claiming he had seen one of the creatures from inside, there was no holding back for Jungkook. He wanted to see one himself. Since that day he had come to ‘the gate’ almost every day, but all he got to see were completely black cars enter and leave the city.
Out of boredom Jungkook had built a tree house and disguised it, because all he could do was staying there and wait. He didn’t want to miss an opportunity of seeing the ‘from the inside’. Although he never had seen them, Jungkook imagined them a little like himself, maybe dressed differently or something like that, because he was told that they were humans as well and that the only difference was their appearance.
It was already midday when Jungkook finally heard the heavy gate move. The gate door itself was as tall as the tree he was situated on. With skilled jumps and steps he climbed down from his tree house, excitement bubbling up inside him. He hid next to the street, having learned that he could watch them better from down there. By the time he reached the ground the gate was fully opened. With curious eyes Jungkook stared at the entrance.
Only one car left the gate. Black, like all the others, but rather small in comparison to the huge trucks. One of the black painted windows was let down. Jungkook stood from his hiding place and for the first time he saw a human from the inside. The person had bright shining hair, like the sun and the skin was white as chalk stone. Jungkook looked closer and saw that his eyes were also shining in a bright and piercing blue. Considering the facial expression Jungkook interpreted it as boredom, maybe even annoyance. The moment the creature noticed him the expression changed to surprised and these shining blue eyes stared back at him. It was a boy. Jungkook was sure, although his appearance really was very different from his. The both of them stared at each other with the same surprise on their faces. That was the moment the window closed and the boy got blocked by the black surface mirroring Jungkook.
