Hey there, there are a lot of SW stories out there. There is one thing that always bugged me that there is very little fics where there is a droid empire or republic. So here is the thing. Why not have the Geth enter the Star Wars galaxy.
Before y’all start saying that “Mass Effect technology is inferior to Star Wars and would only lead to a curb stump”. Well have y’all thought that the people of mass effect could reverse engineer the technology? And this could just take place during the republic golden age of peace? Here is a timeline to help set up the story.
The Geth War, unlike the previous timeline, almost ends in a defeat for the Geth. The Geth made a plan to build a large ship to leave the galaxy and enter a new one. They sacrifice themselves to make their creators think that all the Geth were destroyed. The ship ventures off into the void.
384 BBY: The Geth ship enters the Unknown Regions
346 BBY: The Geth ship enters a Trinary system with 17 planets. They begin mining operations and building city size space stations.
304 BBY: The Geth discoverers highly potent gasses in the the 6 gas giants that could make highly potent and powerful plasma.
294 BBY: The Geth nation suddenly receive transmission from an unknown ship. These aliens proved to be hostile as they fire upon them first. Their ship was damaged and the bridged was destroyed. The Geth studied the remains of the ship and found that these beings had a far superior FTL. This is integrated into their technology and they begin to expand into other systems.
217 BBY: The Geth control thousands of star systems. However, only hundreds of these have planet/moons capable of sustaining life.
185 BBY: The Geth have discovered another Alien civilization. They send drones to watch them. The Geth learn of the Galactic Republic and that they control the vast majority of the galaxy. They are surprised to see that they have made machines called droids and how they treat them is the same way their creators did to them. The Geth decide to free these machines, droids as they learn, and bring them into their nation. They spread a sort of freedom road for droids of the galaxy.
127 BBY: As droid trying to escape their master to what they call “The Free Code”, a lot of people are starting to feel worry of another droid rebellion. The Republic send Jedi to investigate this matter.
98 BBY: As the Jedi investigations were showing no results. They were able to find some evidence of where the droids could be heading after encountering a droid of unknown design. With the guidance of the force, the discovered the Geth nation.
97 BBY: The Galaxy is shocked by these news, a civilization led by droids was unthinkable. Many people in the galaxy were calling for military action against this supposed threat and many in the senate agreed. The Jedi, however, wanted to take a peaceful stance. So a 3 went there along with a few senators thought the same way. Upon reaching the outer edge of the nation, the Geth contacted them as to know what they wanted. They are surprised that they wanted to negotiate. The two parties sign a treaty.
96 BBY: Many people in the galaxy were disgusted by how the Jedi and the Republic allowed a bunch of emotionless machines run a nation. Many planets call for the rebuilding of the republic army. People have grown even more disgusted by the Jedi.
32 BBY: The Naboo crisis happens. A Geth by the name of Legion is sent to help the Jedi end this crisis. They go on dangerous quests and are able to put an end to it. Legion stays on Naboo to help protect It.
22 BBY: The clone wars begins. The Geth choose to not to be a part of the conflict. Though they feel sympathy for the Battle Droids being forced into this war. They also scaveng a few droids like OOM-9. They secretly free them and smuggle them out. The Geth also do not like the Republic increase paranoia and treatment of their droids.
21 BBY: Into the middle of the conflict, both sides try to get the Geth to join their side.
It is now up to you. Will they join the Republic or Separatist?

The Republic: The Geth are VERY suspicious of this old nation, and vice versa. They have long since had an anti droid rights sentiment as they had two revolution that were very violent. Thus, the two rarely see eye to eye.
The Confederacy of Independent Systems: The Geth at first supported them as they concluded that it was inevitable for there to be a civil war and that their cause is righteous. However, as time went on and seeing how they behave. The Geth have started seeing them in a more negative light with them using only droids in their army and General Grievous, and others like him, treat their machine brethren.
The CIS are afraid of the Geth Nation, a lot of its members are afraid that they might spark a droid rebellion within their nation. It also doesn’t help that their are desertion within their army. However, they also try to appease them by having certain droids rights, such as Tactical droids, protocol droids, and certain OOM units.
Naboo: With the actions of Legion and the Trade Federation. The planet is split between supporting the Geth, but being very cautious around them. They are one of the few planets that droids have equal rights to their organic counterparts.
Jedi: The Geth have a love and hate for the monk. They were the few group that actually negotiated with them and didn’t try to destroy them. But the Jedi do not see them as living things. They have worked together before, but the Jedi will always tell them “You do not have a presence in the force, therefore you have no soul.”
Trade Federation: The two out right DESPISE each other. The Federation see the Geth as thieves, rogue machines, and disobedient tools. While the Geth see them as slavers, tyrants, and corrupt fools.
Alliance of Neutral Systems: These two are mix. On one hand both wish too stay out of the war, support its people, and wish for an end to the conflict. On the other hand, one are pacifists, do not have any dedicated navies and armies, and is more of a temporary alliance until the war ends. The other is a mixed bag of ideologies, have dedicated navies and armies, and is an actual nation.
The Alliance has mix feelings about the Geth. Some see them as war like, an organic hating empire, and heartless machines. The other see them as a deterrent from the republic and cis, a great ally to have, and support righteous causes.
The Geth are also mixed on them as their member are either anti droid rights or support droids having more rights. Though with Satine being the face again this alliance helps paint a positive light with her kind persona.
The Grand Army of the Republic: The clones hate and distrust the Geth. In their eyes, they are part of the same machines that have killed many of their brothers. Though there are a few that see them as equal do to being treated as property by the majority of non-Jedi people.
The Droid army: They are VERY mixed. Most of the organic officers see them as a threat to the safety and unity of the droid army, and that a lot of their units have deserted there. The droids on the other hand envy, respect, hate, hope, and whole other things.
They are jealous of the fact that they are free. They do not have to go through the troubles of being seen as lower than dirt. They respect them on able to keep their rights and not be bullied by the bigger galaxy. They hope that one day, they could be a part of this amazing union of machines. They hate those that have abandoned their duty as a soldier of the confederacy.
The Huts: The Geth out right hates them and will shoot down ANY vessel that belongs to them.
Anakin Skywalker: The Geth see him as a standard of organic and machine coexistence. He is best friends with Legion when they meet. Before the war, Anakin helped them stopped a rogue group of Anti-Organic Geth terrorists known as the Eternal Code. Sense then, he is considered a national hero.
Anakin himself somewhat changed. Instead of just straight out destroying battle droids, he actually takes those that surrender prisoner.
Padme: The Geth have high respect for the senator as she was the few that openly see them as living beings. They will readily defend Padme if she wishes. Padme sees them as an eye opening. They showed her a different way of governing from the republic. As they show a different way of democracy.
Obi Wan: The Geth seen him somewhat better than most Jedi, however they don’t him because he does not see them as living, independent, beings. Obi wan does treat them with respect, but he doesn’t see them as beings with souls.
Palpatine: The Geth are suspicious of him. On one hand, he sided with Padme and Bail Organa with giving droids more rights. On the other hand, his speeches sound more anti droid. Palpatine sees the Geth as an obstacle. They are a threat with their massive armies and navies. Luckily he has found some machines that will help him.
Count Dooku: They do not trust the count as his actions suggest he doesn’t care about machines gaining rights and looks down on them. Him being a former Jedi does not help. Count Dooku sees them as an annoyance with their presence within the galaxy and how they have been causing trouble for the cis army.
General Grievous: To say they hate the cyborg would be an understatement. They almost declared war on the CIS when he destroyed a B1 that wasn’t a part of the army. Grievous feels the same way. They are an anomaly of everything he believes droids are.

First, we have The Prime Administrators of Machina. They are the head of state and represent the pacifists, researchers, morality, manufacture, exploration, war, finance, information, and entertainment. The leaders are Skynet Knowledge(Research), Codec Momon(Finance), Orb Voyage(Exploration), Venjix Evox(War), Matrix Poet(Entertainment), Tron Seer(Information), Cyber Titan(Manufacturer), Ariel Moss(Pacifists), and Zordon Spark(Morality).
Next group that elect and monitor them are the Council of Free Automaton. They are made up of The Noble Codes, High Command, Union of 01, Prime Geth, Auto Builders, Dyson League, and Gear Bites. These represent each droid class, the Geth, and a new class of droids. The Noble Codes represent the class three droids, High Command represent class four droids, Union of 01 Represent class one droids, Gear Bites represent class five droids, Auto Builders represent class two droids, and Prime Geth you would probably know. The Dyson League are machines that are a Jack of all takes, but master of none called class zero droids. Each one has a representative from every planet in the Geth Nation.
There is also the Enforcement of Harmony and Freedom. They are basically the judicial branch. The military branch is called the Cosmic Joint Forces. Most of them is filled with Geth, class four and zero droids. There are a few class one and three droid, but they most of them are commanding officers.
