Chapter 1: Chapter 1- Backstory

Chapter Text

Shota Aizawa, also known as the hero Eraserhead, fell in love with a quirkless Canadian woman, M/n. He had met her when visiting Canada on a work trip. She had long blonde hair and e/c eyes. Their relationship began as long-distance but was never a secret due to him being an underground hero. After half a year of long-distance dating, the woman moved to Japan for work.

They ended up getting engaged a year and a half into their relationship. While engaged, M/n got pregnant. The couple was overjoyed.

However, before they could get married, M/n went into labor. While giving birth to their daughter, she passed away. Shota vowed to take care of his daughter and love her twice as much as one parent would in honour of her mother. Before passing away, M/n had wanted to name their daughter Y/n, and so Aizawa named her Y/N Aizawa L/N.

-------

11 Years later- Y/n = 4 years old*

Y/n was now 4 years old. She had black hair like her father and e/c like her mother. She had her fathers eye shape, but otherwise, she resembled her mother almost completely.

She was a smart child. Due to her father being a teacher, he taught her every day. In fact, she was way ahead of most children her age. She also had a love for heroes. Her favourite hero was Eraserhead for obvious reasons. She had vowed to be a hero, just like her father one day.

Y/n loved her father so much. She loved him with her whole heart. She would spend most of her time with him. They'd watch cartoons, go shopping, and draw together. Since her mother was an artist, Aizawa made sure she learned to love art and draw well. It allowed her to keep a piece of her mother with her.

Y/n spent all her alone time waiting for her quirk to manifest. Most children her age already had quirks. However, Aizawa had a hunch she would be quirkless just like her mother. He took her to the doctors and that is when she found out, she was in fact quirkless. Most kid's with her dream might've been crushed by that, but not Y/N. She never stopped smiling.

Once she and her father left the doctors and got into the car, she turned to her father. She looked him right in the eye and said: "I am going to be the first quirkless hero, a real hero, just like you dad" while her smile stayed unwavering. Aizawa knew that if anyone could do it, it would certainly be her. At that moment, he promised himself that he would do whatever he could do to make sure her dream became a reality.

5 Years ago- Y/N = 10 years old* (Second Person POV)

Aizawa had been teaching you nonstop. At this point, you're way ahead of your class in school due to your father's teachings. You've has begun using your talents in art and your intelligence to start creating inventions. Though they aren't anything too special yet, you plan on using these skills to become a hero.

You also train non stop. Thanks to having a pro hero dad and a bunch of pro hero aunts/uncles, you're pretty strong. You began to learn martial arts at a young age and are now skilled in many forms of martial arts. Your dad noticed you seem to pick up on fighting techniques pretty well but still struggle due to your stiffness. Now he's making you take ballet lessons to work on her agility and flexibility.

You're on your way to ballet lessons right now. Your glad your father is driving you today. Sometimes your uncle Hizashi (Present Mic) has to drive you to ballet lessons due to your father's busy schedule. You've been wanting to talk to your father about something. However, you're afraid of how he'll react, so you sit there quietly, thinking.

You seem to have a lot that connects you to your father but not much that connects you to your mother. You still feel a lot of guilt for her death. Wanting to have more than just your love for art and e/c to connect you to your mother, you had recently asked your dad about her. He told you about how she would always talk about how much she loved her middle school in Canada.

For the past few days, he has been telling you stories about her middle school days. Wanting to connect with your mom, you decided that you wanted to go abroad for middle school. You don't know how your dad will take it.

After 5 minutes of silence has gone by, you finally muster up the courage to ask your dad.

"Hey dad..." you begin.

Your father who still has his eyes on the road replies, "What's up kid?"

Playing with your nails, you look down at your lap and continue, "Umm... well I've been thinking and I wanted to ask you something...." He looks to you and nods for you to continue. "You've been telling me a lot of mom's middle school stories, and I've decided I want to go to the same middle school as she did. Can I pleaaassseeee go to Canada for middle school?" Your dad opens his mouth to respond, but you cut him off, continuing to plead your case before he can reject your request. "I just want to experience what she did first hand, and I promise I'll facetime you every day and visit on vacation days. And don't worry, I won't slack off on my studies or training".

You turn to him with puppy dog eyes, waiting for a response. He finally reaches a red light and turns to you. You see that he has tears in his eyes, but he seems to be smiling (you're the only person that can get him to smile). "Of course you can go, honey. You're so much like your mother. I'm so proud of you".

You're overwhelmed with joy and kiss him on the cheek.
