- These vibes are really obvious I feel like, but “my whole life I’m tired of being a burden” convinced me utterly, and “i find peace in your violence” speaks about again the night hunting and the sheer shenanigans and happiness they’d have on their adventures, relying on each other, and “I’ve been quiet for too long” implies that before they had each other they were lonely, but together they get to talk and be themselves (and seek reassurance that their friends are seeing all this crazy shit go down too)
Parachute by Masketta Fall
- The first part is serious and so kind like “i know you’ll break by fall no matter what I do” but. BUT.
- Okay look . All I can imagine is a music video where the other two start singing and pointing, in 80s video style, at Sizhui saying “you can be my parachute!” and he’s like trying not to smile going “oh my god just because i can get us out of many situations doesn’t mean I’m your backup plan first resort” and then for chorus two they turn on jin ling and start singing because he’s got a) a sect and b) deep pockets so he’s their bail out fund. Then jingyi singing about the plane stealing XD. and jingyi’s like “I’m not the parachute” and then they sing the “you keep my feet off the ground, when no one else is around” then ---> “you can be my parachute” while he’s grinning and happy and blushing that he’s parachute too. And “my heart is screaming/beating for you” is so cute, just the idea of these guys helping each other out and being there for each other in a very cute, probably adorably polyamorous way.
Demons by Roomie and Friends
- A cover of demons is cute, the feels are obvious. This one doesn’t have direct translatable lyrics but the vibes are great. Themes of wanting to shelter each other from canon/reality and also being a little bit convinced (probably bc the older generation doesn’t know how to FUCKING LOVE PEOPLE or saY they love their kids) they’re a burden etc, but they’re!!! Not!! And they love each other they end. Themes of letting someone go to save them, esp re: canon being canon, but some lyrics are about saving each other. Like “I can't escape this now, unless you show me how” references the ongoing theme of each seeing the other juniors as brighter (than them), hopeful, a relief to see them bc everything’s going to be okay. (which in hindsight shows a lack of self esteem But what are you Gonna Do? Live in ‘nothing hurts’ aus, that’s what. They go on night hunts with uncle ghost general and do Shenanigans, Forever)
Toxic Thoughts by Faith Marie
- Alright the chorus of this just SCREAMS junior trio and once more we talk about canon trauma of their parents/parental figures not you know,,,, saying “I love you” enough and giving them all complexes. Except maybe Jingyi but he’s got his own problems and a lot to live up to as well, and is a Lan overachiever living up to impossible ideals. But especially for Sizhui and Jin Ling trying to a) be perfect in Sizhui’s case and also a) be perfect , but More, in Jin Ling’s case. Also music as a Lan thing and composing = a parallel for inventing cultivation styles. It had the vibes, alright, but was a little angsty-- but I remember your prompt said scars and trauma were welcome! I’m trying to include stuff from lots of genres :D Both serious stuff and funny (Who’s your UNcle, Jin LIng!?)

- Okay so this is a good title AND the lyrics work. ONce more we are here to talk about how the juniors weren’t cherished properly bc their parents were dead and their caregivers were traumatized.
- “I've been living life in second place, always the underdog” LSZ is like, barely seen by LZ bc WWX is dead, and yeah lz is proud of him but like. In a distant sort of way. Bc there’s this big wall of trauma. And Jiang Cheng is obviously looking at Yanli and Wwx’s ghost every time he sees Jin Ling. So the juniors are like fighting echoes of dead people for their care taker’s affections and it’s probably annoying as shit. Sure am glad everyone lives happily ever after (esp in fix it fics)
The Rest
- The last few songs seem self-explanatory.
- I picked the last few ones specifically because they were "friendship" orientated and kind of "we can do it!" young hero anime protag style.
