Work Text:

A bang on the table jolts a sleeping Wangnan up, hitting his head on the bunk bed in the process. He groans in pain, rubbing his forehead and checking the time. “Jesus, Viole. It’s five in the goddamn morning. Why are you so loud?”

“Well, you see, Wangnan..” Bam lifts his head off the table, glancing over his shoulder. “I have nothing - nothing for my portfolio. And this is due next week! God, I’m a failing second year.” Bam emphasizes, shoving the printed photos on his dormmate's face, going back to his work table and sulking about.

Wangnan sighs, observing the photos and humming. “Well, in my opinion, it’s good, as always. You have this unique style of taking pictures, and that’s what makes them a lot more interesting. Although..” Wangnan rests his chin on his free hand, “it’s missing something..”

Bam sniffles, carefully looking at Wangnan and tentatively listening. “What’s missing?”

Wangnan grins, “life.”

“.. You’re kidding me, aren’t you?” Bam quirks a brow, and Wangnan hands the photos back.

“My dear friend, you’ve got nothing to lose. Why not look for a model?” Wangnan suggests, and before Bam could reply, Wangnan raises a finger up, “you don’t have to ask, you know? I’m willing to be one.” He persuades, having Bam roll his eyes.

Getting up from his seat, Bam organizes his photos; placing them at the top of his empty portfolio. He sighs, closing his tired eyes. “Life.. Aren’t surroundings enough of life as it is?” He asks himself, placing his glasses down and walking to the bunk bed, climbing his way up.

“Is that a yes, Bam? I can really be your model?” Wangnan cheerily questions, and Bam hums sleepily as he lays down on his bed - ah, this is heaven , Bam thinks. “‘M gonna find prettier people. Good night, Wangnan.”

Wangnan huffs and lays back down, “it’s fine, that’s fine. I’m out of your league, anyway.”

“Sure, babe. Anything you want.” Bam drowsily teases - and Wangnan finally shuts up.

.. A muse.. I’ll check later on when I wake up..

Bam opens his eyes; only to be greeted by rays of sunlight breaking through his balcony window. Squinting his eyes, Bam sits up with a groan, stretching his arms. “Ah.. did Wangnan leave already..?” He takes a peek below him, humming at the messy yet empty space.

He jumps down, looking at the clock placed on his work table.

1:21PM.. Huh.. Bam notes, walking to the bathroom and stretching once more. “I should go somewhere to take pictures.. Maybe the park near campus will do.” He tells himself, stripping his clothes off and getting inside the shower. He flinches awake when cold water touches his skin, sighing in satisfaction.

As soon as he finishes, Bam steps out of the shower and wraps a towel around his hips - lazily brushing his teeth in the process. He gets out of the bathroom, sliding in decent clothes that are deemed good enough for him. He ties his hair into a messy bun, completing his look.

He cleans the dormitory (more or less, Wangnan’s mess), taking his camera and bag, heaving out a sigh. Bam’s gaze lay heavy on his camera before turning to his work table, contemplating if he should bring the photos with him.

“.. Well, I could always use these for reference..” He picks them up, looking at his shots. Most of them were about the environment, and there’s nothing wrong with it. Though I have to agree with Wangnan.. It’s too plain, there’s something definitely missing.

Bam tucks his photos safely in his bag, zipping it close, taking his glasses and wearing it. He double checks his things before leaving the dormitory, smiling softly as the gust of wind hits his face. “A frappuccino would be good to start the day.” He says, knowing that it’s past afternoon.

Walking to a nearby cafe, the door chimes as he opens the door; the sweet aroma of coffee lingering around hitting his nose. Contentment runs through his veins, taking small steps to the cashier with a grin.

“Good afternoon, Viole!” Wangnan greets, “it’s nice to see you awake earlier on weekends. The usual?”

Bam giggles, “good afternoon, babe. I thought of having a change of pace in life. And yeah, the usual, please.” He hands Wangnan his payment, taking a seat on a bar stool facing the window.

Bam carefully takes his camera out, humming and placing his bag down with his other hand. He checks the settings on his camera, putting his glasses away and looking through the viewfinder, taking a sample shot. A hint of silver-blue catches his eye, and he quickly moves his camera out of curiosity.

And oh -

Oh, how beautiful..

His heart skips a beat seeing such blue strands sway perfectly against the wind. The focus on Bam’s camera turns to their face - and their beauty is unparalleled - as if they had just walked out of a painting.

Their eyes, cold yet tender at the same time. They were in every shade of blue and Bam loved it. The person’s lips are formed into a perfect smile to where Bam has the sudden urge to pull them into a kiss. Their pale complexion matches with their rose-tinted cheeks; making them all the more alluring.

Not even words could ever compare to the person’s unrivaled charm just by a single glance.

Bam focuses his camera in a daze, taking an unintentional shot unbeknownst to the bluenette and their friends, pulling his camera away and suddenly standing up.

“Viole? What’s wrong?” Wangnan blocks Bam’s view of the person, having him sigh. He sits back down, stressfully wearing his glasses. “God, Wangnan.. I think I just saw the most beautiful person alive..”

Wangnan chuckles, “you don’t have to be shy, just say my name.” He playfully says, setting both the frappuccino and croissant down.

“Why are you the one serving me, by the way? Aren’t you the cashier for today?” Bam looks over Wangnan’s shoulder, hoping to look for the person. Wangnan shrugs, “I asked to switch for a bit, and Hwaryun obliged. Anyways, what are you looking at? You’ve been glancing behind me.”

The brunet looks at Wangnan, hurriedly skimming through his camera and showing his friend, absolutely lovestruck. “T-This person.. Do you know them?”

Wangnan squints his eyes, smiling widely right after. “Ah, I know him! What a small world.”

“What?” Bam - currently bewildered - questions, gently putting his camera down. Wangnan nods, “yeah! Khun Aguero Agnis. First year, taking Fine Arts just like us. Only that, the major he’s in is painting. He’s pretty famous, you know? From the precise strokes of his brush to his creativity.. He’s on a different level. Also, indeed is he the most appealing man in their department.”

“How did you know him?” Bam questions further, and Wangnan hums; bemused at how interested his friend seemed.

“Well, I went to an exhibition and he was there. And listen: although being a first year, he’s acknowledged by seniors and professors! Can you imagine that? I didn’t get the chance to talk to him, but he was the spotlight of the night.” Wangnan explains.

From the information Bam has gathered, Khun is.. Out of his league. But-

Bam bites his bottom lip, “I..” He starts, looking down and holding onto his frappuccino. “.. I want to make him my muse..” He quietly says; yet enough for Wangnan to hear.

Wangnan nods, rubbing his friend’s back as if it were out of pity. “Well then, good luck. A lot of people in the photography major want him to be their model too, but I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t decline your offer.”

“How so?” Bam asks, hope evident in his eyes. Wangnan grins, “just a hunch.” He replies, walking back to Hwaryun. Bam pouts, binging on his supposed-to-be brunch. As much as he wants to run after Khun - the most perfect person alive Khun - he’d rather collect himself and ask Khun when Bam won’t seem like a panicking bisexual who’s bad at socializing.

After gulping down his drink, he grabs his bag and camera, politely thanking the workers before leaving. His eyes gaze everywhere, looking for one certain bluenette. Walking to the park near campus, Bam ponders if he has seen Khun before. He hums in thought, Khun Aguero Agnis.. How could I have missed someone as perfect as him?

Arriving at the park, Bam takes his camera out once more. He turns to his LCD screen so he wouldn’t have to trouble himself into looking in the viewfinder. Bam adjusts his focus with brows furrowed in determination.

It’s the perfect time to take pictures - for the plants are starting to grow.

Spring; a season of new beginnings.

Yeah, Bam could put that as his caption. The only drawback is that he’s already pictured the same scenery multiple times already. Bam whines with a pout, hopelessly sitting down on a bench.

What am I supposed to do now..? I don’t know where Khun is, and I wouldn’t want to bother him.. Bam thinks hardly enough, closing his eyes in frustration.

Fate must have given him a chance in life, to when Bam’s eyes open, the most stunning man appears right at the entrance of the park. He seems to be alone, carrying a tote bag with one hand and his phone with the other.

Bam's hands instinctively raise his camera to capture such beauty, afraid that Khun might disappear any second. Once again, he captures the moment half-mindedly.

Khun finally raises his head up from his phone, taking a glance at Bam as the said man takes another picture without knowing. He starts walking over to where Bam is, the atmosphere getting lighter each step he took.

Has fate blessed or cursed Bam? Well, who knows.

All that Bam is aware of right now is that the Khun Aguero Agnis is coming close.

Did he see me taking pictures of him? Shit, shit shit shit shit-

Khun suddenly stops his tracks and his eyes widen for a brief moment, “ah, sorry, am I blocking the view?” His smooth voice asks, and to Bam’s surprise, Khun seems to be a lot gentler than Bam thought he would be.

Either way, Khun is right there, in front of Bam. And Bam completely forgets how to breathe.

What is he waiting for?

It’s now or never.

I should ask Khun to be my muse while there are not many people around..!

Before Bam could say anything, Khun grins. “.. Or maybe.. I’m the one you’re focusing on?”

Well, no shit.

Gentle yet flirtatious Khun fit him so much Bam wanted to explode.

Who is this perfect man to give me heart problems?

“I.. Ah.. No.. I-I’m just.. Taking pictures of.. Of trees..” Bam tries; only to stumble upon his words. Great interaction! 10/10, you’ve amazingly embarrassed yourself!

“Ahh, I see. So it’s not me?” Khun tilts his head to the side, slightly pouting. Bam’s cheeks start to heat up (as if he weren’t already blushing), “N-No! You’re gorgeous, but I- I’m-!” Bam, you fucking failure?

Khun giggles, and Bam swears he could hear wedding bells already.

“I’m kidding, I’m kidding.” Khun takes a seat on a bench parallel to Bam’s, settling his tote bag next to him. “Hmm.. Judging from the things you’re bringing, you’re a photography major, aren’t you?”

Bam nods, putting the camera on his lap. Khun smiles softly, “you must be my upperclassman. Should I call you hyung? What’s your name first?”

“J-Jyu Viole Grace.. You can call me Bam..” Bam, clearly taken aback by Khun’s sudden interest in him, is blushing profusely. I need to ask him if he wants to be my muse..

Khun hums, “alright, Bam hyung. I guess you know me already,” Khun confidently says, crossing his legs. “I’m Khun Aguero Agnis, call me Khun, or Aguero. Or whatever you’d like.” He slyly winks at Bam, having the latter almost choke on particularly nothing.

“It’s nice to meet you, Khun..” Bam says, purposely avoiding eye contact with Khun’s blue, blue eyes.

“Likewise, hyung.” Khun replies, playfully trying to chase and look at Bam’s honey-colored eyes.

Silence engulfs the atmosphere; as if Khun is waiting for Bam to initiate the conversation. But, Bam can’t. He really, really can’t. Without stuttering senseless, at least.

Bam breathes in, I should start a conversation before asking! “What brings you here?”

The bluenette hums, “well, there isn’t really much happening in the dormitories so I asked some of my friends to go out with me, and we did. I went to the park because we already parted, and it appears that there’s a cute brunet who happens to be here, too.” Khun leans on the bench with arms crossed, smiling widely at Bam’s flustered reaction.

“How about you? Why are you here?” He throws the question back, and Bam fixes his glasses before answering: “photos for my portfolio.. I feel like I’m lacking something so..” Bam pauses, visibly gulping. Do it, do it, Bam!

“- would you like to be my muse? I feel like if I were to take pictures of a beautiful person next to nature, it would look a lot better than plain..” He trails off, completely focused on his portfolio; not even noticing his own amazing flirting skills.

Khun stays quiet, holding back a smile. He looks away, “My, you’re one amusing second year. You’re making me blush.” He says in such a flirtatious tone that Bam couldn’t even process what Khun has said, realizing his own shameless request just now.

Bam raises a hand up to his face and waves it frantically, “a-ah! Sorry, I didn’t mean to- you aren’t obligated to-”
“.. I accept your offer. But you know, I’m quite expensive..” Khun cuts Bam off with a smirk, glancing from Bam’s head to toe.

The brunet is quite overwhelmed, cupping his mouth, looking away from the most captivating man in the whole goddamn universe. “W-What would you like me to do?”

Khun is left with eyes widened, amused by Bam’s innocent behavior. He sighs, “just treat me coffee after we’re done. Is that a deal, hyung? Since I have the whole day to myself..”

Bam excitedly nods, finally meeting Khun’s gaze with a bright smile. “I won’t let you down!”

Honestly, Bam has to wonder as to why Khun agreed with little to no hesitation - yet all he could focus on are:

One, Khun, a fine-looking junior, is willing to help him with his portfolio; and

Secondly, his grades won’t seem to be at stake anymore.

“Alright, so.. This park, right? Or do we change our destination?” Khun tries to confirm, looking around the peaceful park. Bam hums, “the former, if that’s alright with you?”

Khun gives Bam a reassuring smile, “of course, anything you want. Just make me look good, hyung.”

Bam stands up and holds his camera close to his chest, “stay there - I’ll try different angles.” He smoothly orders around, checking his photos beforehand. His eyes widen at how beautiful Khun looked at each and every picture Bam took; even seeing him in real-life seems so.. Unreal. He’s the epitome of perfection - and none could ever argue with that.

“.. Hyung? Hyung. How do I pose?” Khun waves his hand, snapping Bam away from his daze.

“Oh, sorry. Um.. Just.. be Khun.” Bam stupidly responds, getting a new angle and adjusting his focus.

“Be ‘Khun’?” Khun lets out a chuckle, finding Bam’s every interaction with him all the more amusing. “I’m not sure I’m following, hyung.”

Bam smiles, already taking pictures. “Your smile, it’s really beautiful, you know?” He half-mindedly says, taking his glasses off and looking into the viewfinder. Khun found that unfairly attractive.

He hums, checking the pictures right after taking various ones, sitting next to Khun and showing him. “Well, what do you think?”

Khun’s pose is simple yet powerful - all focus is on him even if he didn’t look at the camera. Each angle Bam took of him were simply perfect, adding more life; just as Bam wanted.

Khun grins, “Wow, your photography style is amazing, just as expected from Jyu Viole Grace. Hmm, let’s see..” He leans closer to the camera, chin resting on the back of his own hand. “.. I like the ones where I don’t look at the camera.”

Bam’s breath hitches, because oh my god Khun Aguero Agnis is so fucking close to me. He could smell his perfume - vanilla - his hair reflects the sunlight, making it look silvery-blue.

“W-Why do you think so?” Bam tries to ask, and Khun turns to look at Bam.

“Well, to make it look like I’m intimidating?” He teases, smiling as Bam’s heart decides to jump out of his ribcage.

The brunet blinks, nodding slowly. “.. Yeah..” His voice cracks - making him look like a fool. A fool, Bam! You’re a bisexually panicking fool!

Khun suddenly stands up, tugging on Bam’s sleeve. “Let’s try over there, hyung. And see if we can have better angles - and I don’t care if I go around the whole park, as long as I’m with you.” He playfully says, starting to walk to the place he pointed out.

Bam follows behind, carrying his bag and Khun’s tote bag. “.. Are these art supplies, Khun?” He asks, setting them down on the grass. Khun nods, “yeah, I bought them earlier and thought of painting the scenery here, too. Would you like to take pictures of me while I paint later on?”

A hitch of breath, “it would be an honor.”

Their afternoon goes on with a calm ambience between both boys, simply clicking with ease. Bam continues to take pictures of Khun, while the said man paints on his new canvas whilst sitting gracefully on the grass. Khun’s hair is tied into a loose ponytail, and his brush strokes are out of this world, even Bam has to stop for a moment to admire an artist at work.

Khun invites Bam to paint with him as the brunet finishes their shoot for today, pulling him close and getting a new canvas. “Alright, you know how to paint, right?” Khun questions, putting his canvas down to dry.
Bam hums, “yeah, I wanted to major in painting when I was younger, but I guess photography stuck on me.” Bam giggles, sitting in front of the canvas.

He picks up a pencil and starts to work on his sketch; needing not a reference, since he knows what he wants to paint. Khun attentively looks both at Bam and the canvas, clutching onto Bam’s camera and turning it on.

Bam glances at the bluenette, “do you wanna look through your photos?”

Khun smiles, “no, I want to take pictures of you. I also have experience in photography, so I might be able to take a good photo of you. But..” Khun raises the camera, looking through the viewfinder. “I won’t be as good as you are, hyung.”

The brunet could feel his cheeks heat up at the statement, finishing his sketch with a blush. A click is heard and he whines, “I-I don’t think I look good in photos..” He pouts - yet is unable to retort when Khun shows him the picture.

“What do you think?” Khun excitedly asks, having Bam sigh in defeat. He looks at the picture and oh wow, Khun can really make everything he touches look good. “Woah, seriously? I really like the lighting..”

Khun nods in agreement, “I like the person in the photo, too.”

Huh?

What?

“What?” Bam asks in a daze, and Khun giggles. “Did I stutter?”

Bam shooks his head, pouting and going back to his canvas. Khun smiles softly, looking into the viewfinder once more. “.. You know.. You could be my muse if I ever took photography as my major. I like your eyes, and the way you tied your long hair..” Khun trails off, taking more pictures of Bam than necessary.

“Khun, you aren’t helping..” Bam shyly whispers, picking a brush up and mixing the acrylic colors of blue and white. Khun laughs, “sorry, hyung. Continue on.”

Both boys continue to get to know each other, and Bam finishes his artwork just before the sun fully sets. He sighs in relief, “well, this is mine. I used to paint realistically when I was at my prime, but it seems that I’m pretty rusty nowadays..”

Khun rests his chin on Bam’s shoulder and hums, having the brunet slightly tense up. “Oh? Is that me, hyung?” Khun points out the obvious, scooting closer and wrapping his arms around Bam’s waist.

“Y-Yeah, I was in the coffee shop earlier and saw you smiling.. I thought you were the most mesmerizing person at that moment.” Bam stutters, blushing in Khun’s hold.

“Hmm? How about now? What do you think of me?” Khun whispers in Bam’s ear, pulling him closer than necessary.

“Words aren’t enough to explain your beauty, Khun.” Bam simply replies, drying his own canvas by waving his hand. Khun stays silent behind him for a moment, one hand reaching for Bam’s waving hand and holding onto it.

“Hyung.. Don’t do that, it’ll ruin the painting..” Khun’s voice sounds shaky, yet he interlocks his fingers with Bam’s. “After the paintings have fully dried, let’s get the coffee you promised me..”

Bam nods, leaning onto Khun. Words aren’t needed as they cuddle in the middle of the park, simply sitting on the grass, enjoying each other’s warmth.

Has anyone made Bam feel this way in such a short time before?

“Hey, Khun.. why did you help me?” Bam asks out of the blue, reaching a free hand behind him and playing with Khun’s soft strands.

Khun adjusts himself, “nothing in particular, I just saw a cutie in the coffee shop obviously taking a picture of me - and I guess it caught my attention.” He giggles, “you amuse me in so many ways, hyung. Meeting you at the park was unexpected, too.”

He pulls away from the hug and tests to see if his canvas is dry - and when it is, he softly smiles. “Shall we go? I feel like your painting has also dried.”

Bam stands up, and Khun holds his hands out. The brunet chuckles, firmly holding onto Khun’s hands and pulling him up. Both boys pack up their things and are on their way to the coffee shop. And once they arrive, Bam waves at a hard-working Wangnan.

“I’ll order for us, go find a seat.” Bam tells Khun, and the bluenette nods - walking to the seat where Bam spotted Khun earlier as if to tease him. All eyes were on Khun, and Bam couldn’t help but agree with how alluring he looks (hell, Bam can’t even find himself getting jealous since he’s just as mesmerized).

Bam walks up to Wangnan - whose eyes are widened. “Oh my god, what the fuck, you scored a jackpot.” Wangnan starts, getting scolded by their manager for practically cussing at his customer.
The brunet chuckles, “you think so? Well then, I’ll order my usual. For Khun.. coffee and maybe a slice of chocolate cake?” He says, paying for his order.

He goes to Khun with a sigh, sitting next to him and putting his bag down. “.. Thanks, Khun. You saved my dying grades.” Bam softly smiles at Khun, and the latter hums. “I’m glad I could be of help, hyung. And I really.. Liked that you were around me.” He says, fondly looking into Bam’s golden eyes.

Their moment is ruined when Hwaryun walks up to them with their order, gently placing the wooden tray on the table. “Here you go.” She says with a small smile.
Khun looks at Hwaryun and smiles, “hey there, Hwaryun.”
“Sup.” She casually greets, walking back to Wangnan.

“Next time, I’ll treat you to a proper dinner.” Bam promises, eating his croissant.

“Oh? Are you asking me out?” Khun teases, drinking his coffee elegantly. Bam chokes on his croissant, having Khun laugh and rub his back in circles.

“I’m joking! Jesus, hyung. But I would’ve said yes. A dinner with you would be nice.” Khun reassures, ruffling Bam’s messy hair bun.

Bam nods, gulping down his frappuccino. He sets it down, trying to calm his nerves down. “It’s a date?”

Khun grins, confirming: “it’s a date.”
